Philosophy expands people’s perception towards national integration, natural affection of others’ ‘worldviews’, better knowledge of diverse understanding patterns and peaceful co-existence. Master’s programme in philosophy in distance learning mode is dedicated not just to improve career possibilities for learners but also to prepare the mind for better consistent logical thinking, mental development, ability for analysis and synthesis, critical reflection on social and political realities. It also displays a means to social transformation to build a better nation and to ensure social equality, human dignity and human rights for the citizens. The Master’s programme in Philosophy has the following major components: 1) Compulsory Courses-16 credits; 2) Elective Courses-48 credits. Students can choose 6 electives in the first year and 6 electives in the second year. To complete this programme, you will have to earn 64 credits over 2 to 5 years. This programme is offered only in English. However, a student is allowed to write the exam in Hindi.
