IGNOU PGDEOH Project Work (MEVP-1) is a 4-credit project that will provide you with a fresh experience and will assist you in learning by doing. IGNOU PGDEOH Project Work (MEVP-1) Guidelines will assist you in developing not just academic knowledge, but also skills in assessing environmental and occupational health concerns, programmes, and initiatives. IGNOU PGDEOH Project Work Guidelines will also serve as a guide, demonstrating how to develop an IGNOU PGDEOH Synopsis, perform the study, write the IGNOU PGDEOH Report, and submit it for assessment.
IGNOU PGDEOH Project Proposal (MEVP-1) Guidelines
1. Consider the Following Points When Choosing a Topic
- Appropriateness of the subject.
- The topic’s relevance to environmental and occupational health concerns.
- Time that is accessible to you.
- Possibility of collecting data during the specified time frame.
- The difficulties inherent in data collecting and how to overcome them.
- Costs associated with data collecting.
- Communication facilities and a working knowledge of the local language.
The Title, Introduction, Objectives, Problem Statement, Research Methodology (including the locality, sample, instruments, and statistical techniques to be utilised), Limitations, if any, and References should all be clearly stated in the Project Proposal.
2. Consult the supervisor for assistance in finalising the topic.
The following individuals are qualified to serve as IGNOU PGDEOH project supervisors:
a. Faculty at the Headquarters.
b. Academic Counselors who hold a postgraduate diploma in environmental and occupational health and have appropriate experience.
c. Educators/Researchers working in the field of Sustainable Development.
d. Doctoral degree in environmental science/study, economics, sociology, anthropology, or a related field.
e. A master’s or doctoral degree in environmental science/study, economics, sociology, anthropology, or other allied subject with a minimum of two years of research or teaching experience.
If the suggested supervisor is not acceptable to the School of Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Studies, the student will be notified, and the student should resubmit the request with a different supervisor. Since a result, the student must resubmit the project proposal with the new supervisor’s signature, as it would be deemed a new proposal. Similarly, if a student wishes to change supervisors for whatever reason, he or she must submit the project proposal together with the new supervisor’s signature on a new project proposal proforma, since this would be treated as a new submission.
Academic counsellors should explicitly state which courses they are counselling and since when, as well as the name and code of the study centre to which they are assigned. The University will pay the project supervisor a token remuneration of Rs.300/- for advising the student (the payment may be revised from time to time).
- To offer advise on how to choose a narrowly focused topic.
- To encourage students to read books/newspapers/magazines; to speak with professionals in the field in order to learn about various areas of interest.
- To offer information on the circumstances in which the empirical data for the project can be obtained (if necessary).
- To provide information regarding pertinent publications.
- To periodically inspire students and to assist them as necessary.
- Encourage learners to work independently, without copying or reproducing, and to work in a methodical manner.
- Provide them with a letter of authorisation that enables/assists them in collecting data for their research (the authorization letter can also be provided by the relevant study center/regional centre).
3. Submission and Approval of IGNOU PGDEOH Project Proposal
After selecting a supervisor and settling on a topic, students should submit the Project Proposal Proforma, one copy of the Project Proposal signed by the supervisor, and the supervisor’s bio-data to the Coordinator (PGDEOH), School of Interdisciplinary and Trans-disciplinary Studies (SOITS), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068 for approval. Students enrolled in January session are recommended to submit project proposals by 30th April, while those admitted in July session are advised to submit proposals by 31st October to ensure timely approval and completion of the programme.
Students who miss these deadlines may still submit IGNOU PGDEOH Project Proposal for approval throughout the year.
4. Approval Communication
A formal notification regarding the approval/rejection of the project will be given to the student through email and regular mail within six weeks of the proposal’s reception in the School.
5. Request for Resubmission of the IGNOU PGDEOH Project Proposal
If the proposal is not approved, the student will get comments/suggestions for rewriting the project. In this situation, the updated project proposal should be provided along with the revised project proposal proforma and a copy of the rejected project proposal, along with the project proposal proforma that includes the evaluator’s remarks and the P.P. No. (Project Proposal Number) assigned.
IGNOU PGDEOH Project Report (MEVP-1) Guidelines
- The length of the report may be about 40 to 50 double spaced typed pages not exceeding approximately 10,000 words (excluding appendices and exhibits). However 10% variation on either side is permissible.
- Each project report must include Title, Introduction, Objectives, Problem Statement, Research Methodology (with locale, sampling, instruments and statistical tools to be used), Results and Discussion, Summary, Limitations if any, and References.
- IGNOU PGDEOH Project Report should also contain the following:
a) Copy of the approved project proposal proforma and project proposal.
b) Certificate of originality duly signed by the student and the supervisor.
2. Submission of IGNOU PGDEOH Project Report
One typed copy of the project report is to be submitted to the Registrar (Students Evaluation Division), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110 068. As soon as you submit the Project Report, a P.R. No. would be allotted which will be communicated to the student. Student should quote this P.R.No. while corresponding with Students Evaluation Division regarding Project Report.
Project Report can be submitted any time throughout the year. If a Project Report is submitted between 1st December to 31st May then the result will be declared along with June Term-end examinations. If a Project Report is submitted between 1st June to 30th November then the result will be declared along with December Term-end examinations.
