About ignouproject.com and Shri Chakradhar Publication

Who runs this site, what we do across every IGNOU service, and what we are not.

Is ignouproject.com the official IGNOU website?

No. The official website of Indira Gandhi National Open University is ignou.ac.in. ignouproject.com is an independent study-help website run by Shri Chakradhar Publication Private Limited, a Delhi-based education publisher.

We are not affiliated with IGNOU, not an agent of the university, and not authorised to act on the university's behalf. Anything relating to your admission, enrolment, evaluation, grade card correction or degree must go to IGNOU directly, through your Regional Centre or the university's iGRAM grievance portal. What we publish here is guidance, and what we sell are our own printed and written materials.

What kinds of IGNOU help do you actually provide?

All of it. Shri Chakradhar Publication supports IGNOU students across every stage of a programme, not just projects:

  • Projects and synopsis for more than 300 programmes, including topic selection, proposal proforma and annexures
  • Dissertations and thesis work for research-weighted programmes
  • Project guide and supervisor arranged where you cannot find an eligible one locally
  • Solved assignments as reference material, English and Hindi medium, by subject code
  • Handwritten assignment copies, individually written, couriered PAN India
  • Guess papers and previous year solved question papers by subject code
  • IGNOU books, help books, study guides and short notes, printed at our own press
  • Practical files, internship reports and field work records where your programme requires them
  • Plagiarism checking, formatting review, printing, spiral and hard binding

If you have an IGNOU requirement that is not on that list, send it on WhatsApp. In sixteen years we have rarely met a request we could not help with.

Who runs ignouproject.com?

The site is operated by Shri Chakradhar Publication Private Limited, CIN U22213DL2019PTC352185, registered in New Delhi. The founder and credited author is BK Sahni, who has worked with IGNOU distance-learning students since 2010 and publishes under ORCID iD 0009-0005-8092-459X. Content is written or reviewed by him and cross-checked against IGNOU and Samarth notifications before each update.

Which other websites do you run?

We publish several IGNOU resources, each focused on one area, so you can go straight to what you need:

All of them are operated by the same company, from the same Delhi office, with the same WhatsApp number.

Is it safe to take help from a private IGNOU service?

Taking guidance is normal and widely done. Where students get into trouble is not with guidance but with substitution: submitting work they did not write, or submitting documentation that is not genuine. IGNOU requires that work submitted in your name is your own and that your supervisor has actually supervised you.

Our position is that we help you produce your work rather than replace it. Where we arrange a project guide, that guide is a real person who meets your programme's eligibility criteria and who you are put in contact with. If a service offers you a signed proforma for a guide you will never speak to, copies of a guide's personal identity documents, or a guaranteed grade, treat all three as warning signs.

Do you guarantee that my project will be approved?

No, and any service that guarantees approval is guaranteeing something it does not control. Approval is decided by IGNOU evaluators, not by us.

What we do commit to is the revision work, which we do control: if your synopsis comes back with corrections, we revise it free of charge, and if the topic itself is the problem we prepare a fresh topic and synopsis at no additional cost. That continues until your synopsis is approved. We make no claim about marks or grade.

Where is your office and can I visit?

Yes. We work from two addresses in Delhi and both are ours, so it is worth knowing which one you want.

The office you can visit is at House No. 167, Ramphal Chowk Road, behind HDFC Bank, Sector 7 Dwarka, New Delhi 110077, open Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 19:00. Come here for project consultations, to collect printed guides, or to have a report printed and bound.

The registered office of Shri Chakradhar Publication Private Limited is at 1st Floor, WZ-10A, Gali No. 13, Sant Garh, Shahpura, Chaukhandi, Vishnu Garden, New Delhi 110018. This is the address on our company records under CIN U22213DL2019PTC352185, where formal correspondence and invoicing are handled.

Students outside Delhi NCR do not need either address. Work with us over WhatsApp on +91 93546 37830 and printed material comes to you by courier.

Is my information kept confidential?

Your enrolment number, programme details and contact number are used only to prepare and dispatch your order. We do not sell or share student records with third parties. We also do not resell your project topic or your written project to another student, which is the main confidentiality risk in this category.

Do you publish your own books?

Yes. Shri Chakradhar Publication prints and binds its own titles at its own press in Delhi: A5 study guides, last-minute exam guides, help books and previous-year question paper compilations, in English and Hindi medium, organised by subject code. Hindi and English editions are separately written, not translations. Titles are sold at the Dwarka office, by courier across India, and on Amazon India under the Shri Chakradhar imprint.

Ordering, pricing, delivery and refunds

What things cost, how long they take and what happens if something goes wrong.

How do I place an order?

WhatsApp +91 93546 37830 with three things: your programme, your subject or course codes, and your deadline.

For assignments and question papers, send the subject codes and the session. For a project, send the programme code, the project course code, and your Regional Centre deadline. If you already have a rejection letter or evaluator comments, send those too, because they change the approach entirely. You get a scope and a price back before any work starts.

What does everything cost?

ServicePrice
Handwritten assignmentRs 320 per subject, reduced from Rs 350, front page included
Guess paper PDFRs 49 per subject
Previous year solved question paper PDFRs 49 per subject
Project guide and supervisor arrangementRs 1,000, added to a synopsis order
Project synopsisQuoted per case by programme and credit weight
Project report or dissertationQuoted per case by programme and credit weight
Solved assignment reference setsPriced per subject code, English or Hindi
Printed books, help books and study guidesPriced per title on the product page
Printing, spiral and hard bindingQuoted by page count and binding type

Projects are quoted per case rather than as a flat rate because a 2-credit project and a 12-credit dissertation are not the same piece of work. Nothing is added after a quote is agreed.

How long does delivery take?

ItemTurnaround
Guess papers and question paper PDFsSame day on WhatsApp after payment
Handwritten assignments7 to 9 working days, couriered PAN India
Project synopsisUsually within a few days of the brief being agreed
Project reportLonger, depending on credit weight and whether primary data is involved
Printed booksDispatched within 1 to 2 working days, then courier transit

Work backwards from your Regional Centre deadline. For projects, add the university's own four-to-eight-week approval window on top of our turnaround, because that is the part nobody can compress.

Can I see a sample before I pay?

Yes, and you should ask. For handwritten assignments we send a photo of the actual handwriting on WhatsApp before you pay, so you can judge the hand for yourself. For projects and synopses, sample formats are published free on this site. For printed books we can send photographs of the interior pages.

Do you deliver across India?

Yes. Handwritten assignments, printed guides, question paper compilations and bound project copies are couriered anywhere in India, with tracking shared on WhatsApp. Digital items are delivered by WhatsApp and email. Students in Delhi NCR can collect from the Dwarka office instead.

What payment methods do you accept?

UPI, credit card, debit card, NFC mobile payments and cash at the Dwarka office. Payment details are shared on WhatsApp when your order is confirmed. Ask for a receipt and keep it, particularly for project work where the timeline runs over several weeks.

What if I am not satisfied with the work?

Tell us what is wrong and we correct it. Revisions to bring the work in line with the agreed brief and with your evaluator's comments are included, not charged separately. If we fail to deliver work you have paid for, you get a full refund. What we cannot refund is an evaluation outcome, because that is not ours to control.

Can I get unlimited revisions?

Revisions against the agreed brief and against your evaluator's comments are unlimited and free, for as long as your project is in progress.

What is not unlimited is scope change. Rewriting a completed report because you have decided to change topic after approval is new work, and we will quote it as new work. That distinction is stated at the quoting stage so there is no argument later.

Do you work with students outside India?

Yes, for digital deliverables. IGNOU has learners across the Gulf, Southeast Asia and Africa, and synopsis work, project guidance, solved assignment reference material and PDFs all travel by WhatsApp and email. Printed books and handwritten copies are couriered within India only.

Can I order for someone else?

Yes. Many orders come from a family member. Send the student's programme, subject codes, enrolment number and delivery address. Anything requiring the student's own judgement, such as choosing a project topic or answering a guide's questions, still needs the student involved.

IGNOU project and synopsis

Format, front page, sample, submission and status. The rule from the handbook first, then what actually happens.

What is the correct order for an IGNOU project?

The sequence matters more than most students realise, and doing it out of order is a common cause of wasted months:

  1. Finalise a topic that fits your programme and is small enough to actually complete
  2. Identify a supervisor who meets your programme's eligibility criteria
  3. Write the synopsis or project proposal
  4. Submit the proposal proforma, synopsis and supervisor's biodata to your Regional Centre
  5. Wait for the approval letter
  6. Only then write the full project report
  7. Submit the report with the original approval letter bound into it
  8. Attend the viva voce if your programme requires one

Writing the report before the synopsis is approved is the single most expensive mistake in this list. If the evaluator changes your topic or objectives, the report you already wrote is unusable.

What is the IGNOU synopsis format?

A standard IGNOU synopsis runs 10 to 15 pages and contains: title page, introduction and background, rationale or need for the study, review of literature, objectives, hypotheses where applicable, research methodology, sampling design, tools of data collection, chapter scheme, limitations, and references.

It is submitted with the Project Proposal Proforma signed by your guide, your guide's biodata, and a copy of your student identity card. The exact proforma differs by programme, so use the one printed in your own project handbook rather than a generic template.

What should the IGNOU synopsis front page look like?

The synopsis front page normally carries the project title, the words indicating it is a project proposal or synopsis submitted in partial fulfilment of your programme, your name, your enrolment number, your programme and project course code, your guide's name and designation, your Study Centre and Regional Centre, and the session. Keep it plain: no borders, no decorative fonts, no logos other than what your handbook prescribes.

We publish free synopsis front page formats in PDF and Word on the IGNOU synopsis and proposal page, along with a sample synopsis you can look at before writing your own.

Can I download a free IGNOU synopsis sample?

Yes. Sample synopsis PDFs and project report samples are published free on this site, without registration. Use them to understand structure, section order and the level of detail an evaluator expects. Do not copy one and submit it: samples are reused by thousands of students, and evaluators recognise them.

What is the IGNOU project report format?

A typical IGNOU project report is organised as: cover page, certificate of originality, guide's certificate, acknowledgement, table of contents, list of tables and figures, then chapters covering introduction, review of literature, research methodology, data analysis and interpretation, findings, conclusion and suggestions, followed by bibliography and annexures including your questionnaire.

Typography is usually Times New Roman 12pt, 1.5 line spacing, on A4 with a wider left margin to allow for binding. Your programme handbook overrides all of this where it differs.

What goes on the IGNOU project front page or cover page?

Project title, the submission statement required by your programme, your name, enrolment number, programme code, project course code, guide's name and designation, Study Centre code, Regional Centre and the year of submission. Free project front page and cover page formats in PDF and Word are on our IGNOU project format page.

How long should the synopsis and the project report be?

DocumentTypical lengthNotes
Synopsis or proposal10 to 15 pagesPlus proforma and supervisor biodata
Project report10,000 to 15,000 words, roughly 80 to 100 pagesIncludes cover page, contents, acknowledgement, chapters, bibliography, annexures

These are general figures. Credit weight changes them significantly: a 2-credit project is not scoped like a 6-credit or 12-credit one. Your programme handbook is the authority.

How do I choose an IGNOU project topic?

Three tests, in order. Is it within your programme's syllabus, so the evaluator can see the link. Can you actually get the data, in your city, in the time you have. Is it narrow enough to answer, because "a study of marketing" is not a topic but "the effect of festival discounting on footfall at three Delhi retail outlets" is.

Programme-wise topic lists are published free across this site, and we shortlist topics for you as part of synopsis work, checked against past approval patterns for your Regional Centre.

How long does IGNOU take to approve a project synopsis?

The official position is that communication regarding approval or non-approval is sent within four weeks of the Regional Centre receiving the proposal. In practice most students report one to two months, and longer around peak submission periods.

If you have heard nothing after eight weeks, contact your Regional Centre with your submission receipt and control number rather than waiting. Delays are frequently a tracking problem at the Centre rather than an evaluation decision, and they only get resolved when a student chases them.

Why do IGNOU synopses get rejected?

Rejections are rarely about intelligence and almost always about specificity or paperwork:

  • Vague topic. The evaluator cannot tell what you are actually studying.
  • Objectives that cannot be measured. "To study the impact of X" is not testable. Name the variable, the population and the method.
  • Methodology that does not match the objectives. A sample size with no sampling method, or analysis you have no data for.
  • Supervisor does not meet the eligibility criteria for your programme.
  • Incomplete proposal. A missing signature, missing biodata or a blank proforma field. Incomplete proposals are rejected without the content being read.
  • Wrong format. Not following the proforma prescribed in your programme handbook.

Four of those six are documentation failures, not research failures. Check the paperwork before you worry about the argument.

My synopsis was rejected. What now?

Read the evaluator's comments carefully, because they tell you exactly what to fix. Then prepare a revised package: the corrected synopsis, a fresh signed proposal proforma, and a copy of the rejection comments, clearly marked as a revised proposal. Resubmit to the same Regional Centre. There is no additional fee for resubmission.

Most students are approved on the second attempt when they address the comments directly rather than resubmitting the same document with cosmetic changes. Do not start the report until the revised synopsis is approved.

What is the IGNOU project fee?

The project course fee payable to the university is generally Rs 300 per course up to 4 credits and Rs 500 per course above 4 credits. This is the university's own fee, paid to IGNOU, and it is separate from any charge for guidance or printing. Confirm the current figure for your programme on ignou.ac.in before paying.

Where do I submit the synopsis and where do I submit the report?

They usually go to different places, and sending them to the wrong one costs weeks:

  • Synopsis and proposal: normally to your Regional Centre.
  • Project report: for many programmes, one typed copy to The Registrar (SED), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi 110068. Some programmes take it at the Regional Centre instead.
  • Online-mode learners: upload through the LMS or Samarth portal where your programme uses it.

Check your handbook for your programme's route rather than assuming, because it varies by school and has changed for several programmes in recent sessions.

What is the last date for IGNOU project submission?

There is no single national project deadline the way there is for assignments. Project submission windows are tied to your term-end examination cycle and your Regional Centre announces them, generally aligned to the June and December TEE sessions. Submit the synopsis early enough that the four-to-eight-week approval window closes before you need to write the report.

What is the correct binding sequence for the project report?

For a hard-bound report, the usual order is: front page, then the original approval letter you received from IGNOU along with the approved synopsis and guide biodata, then the front page again, then the complete report. The original approval letter must be inside the bound copy, not attached loosely, and not a photocopy.

Can my project be rejected after the report is submitted?

Yes, though it is less common than synopsis rejection. The usual causes are high plagiarism, missing signatures on the certificate of originality or the supervisor's certificate, missing sections such as the bibliography, a format that does not match the prescribed one, submitting a report on a topic other than the approved one, or submitting without prior synopsis approval where the programme required it.

Can I change my topic after approval?

Not informally. The approval letter is issued against a specific topic, and submitting a report on a different topic is grounds for rejection. If your topic has become impossible because data is unavailable, treat it as a fresh proposal: write a revised synopsis and get it approved again before writing.

How do I check my IGNOU project status or synopsis status?

Open the official IGNOU project status portal, enter your enrolment number and programme code, and submit. The status reads Received, Under Evaluation, Approved or Completed, or Not Found. Not Found means your project has not been uploaded to the system yet. If it stays Not Found for more than three weeks, contact your Regional Centre with your submission receipt.

Full walkthrough with the current link: how to check your IGNOU project status.

How are project marks reported?

The project result is published with your term-end examination results and appears on your grade card. If your report was submitted and evaluated but the project row is still blank on the grade card, that is a records issue for your Regional Centre rather than an evaluation outcome.

Project guide and supervisor

Who qualifies, how to find one yourself, and how our guide service works.

Do I need a project guide for every IGNOU project?

No. Most project courses require a guide, but not all of them do.

A number of programmes run project or portfolio courses assessed without a supervisor being appointed, and a few assign one internally. Your programme handbook states whether a guide is required and what the eligibility criteria are. Check that first, because arranging a guide you do not need wastes both time and money.

Who is eligible to be an IGNOU project guide?

Criteria are set per programme, but the pattern across most programmes is that a guide must be one of the following:

  • A faculty member in the relevant subject
  • An IGNOU-approved academic counsellor
  • A working professional holding a Master's degree in the field with five or more years of relevant experience

Commonly excluded: someone with no relevant experience, someone from an unrelated discipline, and someone already supervising more students than the programme permits. For projects at bachelor's level the experience requirement is often lower, around two years. Your handbook is the authority.

Can you arrange a project guide for me?

Yes. If you cannot find an eligible guide through your Study Centre or Regional Centre, we arrange one. The charge is Rs 1,000, added to your synopsis order.

What you receive:

  • The guide's signed biodata or CV, prepared in the format IGNOU asks for
  • The guide's signature on the approval proforma and the annexures
  • The complete set sent to you by Speed Post, or collect it from our Dwarka office

The guide is a real person who meets the eligibility criteria above and who has agreed to supervise your project. You are put in contact with them, and they remain available to you for questions on the synopsis and the report until your project is complete. A guide who signs your proforma without ever engaging with you is not supervision, and it is not what we arrange.

What do you not provide with the guide service, and why?

Three things, and the reasoning matters:

  • No Aadhaar or personal identity document of the guide. IGNOU's project guidelines do not ask for it, and no legitimate submission needs it.
  • No marksheets or degree certificates of the guide. Same reason. The biodata carries the qualification and experience the proforma requires.
  • No promise about your marks. Marks are awarded by the evaluator on the report and the viva. Nobody supplying a guide can influence that.

If another service offers you a guide's ID documents or a guaranteed grade, that tells you something about how they operate.

Can I find a guide myself instead?

Yes, and if you can, do. It costs nothing and a local guide is easier to work with. In rough order of how well it tends to work:

  • Your IGNOU Study Centre coordinator, who often knows which counsellors take project students
  • Academic counsellors from your own programme, who already know the syllabus
  • Your Regional Centre, which can sometimes point you toward approved guides
  • Faculty at a local college in your subject, approached directly with a short written request
  • A senior working professional in your field who meets the experience criteria, for applied and management projects

Approach more than one at a time. Most students who struggle to find a guide approached exactly one person and waited. Come to us for the guide service only after these routes have not worked.

What should I send when I approach a potential guide?

Keep it short and make saying yes easy. A brief message stating your name, programme, enrolment number, the topic you are considering and roughly what supervision involves, plus a one-page topic outline attached. Include the expected time commitment honestly. Most refusals happen because the request was vague and the person could not tell what they were agreeing to.

Will I actually be in contact with the guide you arrange?

Yes, and you should insist on it with any provider.

You get the guide's contact details and can reach them about your topic, your objectives and your report. This matters for two reasons. First, IGNOU's expectation is that supervision genuinely happened, and a student who has never spoken to their own guide is exposed if it is ever questioned. Second, a viva is easier when you have actually discussed your work with someone who knows the subject.

Does the guide's approval mean my synopsis is approved?

No. These are two different approvals and confusing them costs students entire sessions.

Your guide signs the proposal proforma to confirm they will supervise you. Final approval of the synopsis is given separately by IGNOU evaluators at the Regional Centre or Head Office, and a synopsis signed by a guide can still be rejected on academic grounds. Wait for the university's approval letter before you begin the report.

Dissertation, thesis and research projects

For programmes where the project is a full research dissertation rather than a report.

What is the difference between an IGNOU project and a dissertation?

A project report answers a defined practical question. A dissertation is a research study: it argues a position, tests it against evidence you collected, and situates it in existing literature.

In practice the difference shows up in credit weight and expectations. Dissertations carry more credits, demand a genuine literature review rather than a summary, require a defensible methodology, and are marked partly on originality. Programmes such as MAPC, MSW, MA Education, BA Honours Psychology and the MSc streams use dissertation-style project courses.

How long is an IGNOU dissertation?

It varies with credit weight. A 6-credit dissertation commonly runs 15,000 to 20,000 words and a 12-credit one longer still, against roughly 10,000 to 15,000 words for a standard project report. Check the word range in your own project manual, because examiners do notice a dissertation submitted at report length.

Do you help with statistical analysis and SPSS?

Yes. For quantitative studies we handle data tabulation, descriptive statistics, reliability testing and standard inferential tests in SPSS or Excel, presented as tables with interpretation written against each of your objectives rather than dumped as raw output. Tell us at the quoting stage whether your study needs it, since it affects both price and timeline.

Do you help design the questionnaire and collect data?

We design the questionnaire or interview schedule against your objectives, and we advise on sampling. Data collection itself should be yours. A viva examiner will ask who you spoke to and what surprised you, and a student who did not collect their own data struggles with that conversation regardless of how good the report reads.

How is plagiarism checked in an IGNOU dissertation?

Evaluators check for copied content and several schools now require a similarity declaration. Our formatting review includes a similarity check and returns a marked-up file showing which passages need rewriting and why. Common causes of a high score are unquoted literature review passages, definitions lifted verbatim, and methodology sections copied from an earlier student's work.

What happens if my dissertation topic is too broad?

It gets rejected at synopsis stage, which is the cheap outcome, or it produces a report you cannot defend at the viva, which is the expensive one. If an evaluator has called your topic broad, the fix is usually to fix one variable, one population and one location rather than to write more. We narrow the topic and rewrite the objectives as part of revision work at no extra charge.

Programme-specific projects by course code

The project course codes students ask about most, and what is distinctive about each.

Which project course code applies to my programme?

Every programme with a project component has its own project course code, and the rules attached to it differ. The most commonly asked:

The full index, with a dedicated guide for each code, is on our IGNOU projects index. If your code is not listed there, send it on WhatsApp and you will get a straight yes or no on coverage.

What is special about the IGNOU MBA project, MMPP-001?

MMPP-001 is where most rejections in our experience come from vague objectives rather than weak content. The evaluator wants to see a management problem stated precisely, objectives that can be measured, a sampling method with a justified sample size, and analysis that actually tests the objectives. A functional specialisation, whether Marketing, Finance, HR, Operations or Banking, should be visible in the topic itself. Guidance for MMPP-001 and MS-100 is on our IGNOU MBA project page.

What is special about the IGNOU MCom project, MCOP-001?

MCOP-001 accepts both empirical and secondary-data studies, which makes topic choice easier than MBA but also makes vague topics more tempting. Commerce topics work best when anchored to a specific firm, sector or dataset with a defined period. Topic lists, format and sample synopsis for MCOP-001 are on our MCom project page.

What is the DECE-4 project and how is it different?

DECE-4 is the project course in the Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education, and it is unusual because it is largely observational and practical rather than survey-based. Students observe children, record developmental observations and prepare activity records, and the report carries those records as annexures. Guidance, format and sample material are on our DECE-4 project page.

What about MAPC projects, MPCE-016, MPCE-026 and MPCE-036?

These are dissertation-style psychology projects and the code you take depends on your specialisation: Clinical, Counselling or Industrial or Organisational. They require a genuine research design, standardised psychological tools with permission to use them where applicable, ethical consent from participants, and statistical treatment of the data. Tool selection is where most MAPC synopses get returned.

What about BPCE-144 for BA Honours Psychology?

BPCE-144 is the dissertation course in BAPCH. It sits at bachelor's level, so the scope is smaller than MAPC, but the structure is still a full research dissertation with review, method, results and discussion. The guide eligibility requirement is generally lower than for master's-level work.

Do you cover the smaller diplomas and certificate projects?

Yes. PGDRD, PGDDM, PGDHE, PGDEMA, PGDET, PGDIS, PGDCJ, PGDFSQM, PGDUPDL, DNHE, DPLAD, DTS, DIPP, DSCDM, CES, CAHT, CIHL, PGCPP and others all have their own project guides on this site. Certificate and diploma projects are smaller and quicker, and their rejections are almost always documentation rather than content.

Can I see a sample project for my course code?

Sample synopses and project reports are published free by programme across this site, and we can show a relevant sample on WhatsApp before you order. Treat samples as structural references. A sample downloaded by thousands of students is the fastest route to a plagiarism flag if submitted.

Solved assignments

Deadlines, weightage, front page format, and what our reference sets are and are not.

What is an IGNOU assignment and why does it matter?

An IGNOU assignment is a Tutor Marked Assignment, usually written TMA, and it generally carries 25 to 30 percent weightage in your final result for that course. The term-end examination carries the rest.

You normally need to pass both components separately. An unsubmitted assignment leaves the course incomplete on your grade card even if you passed the written examination, and in many programmes an unsubmitted assignment blocks you from being declared complete at all. It is the single most common reason a student who has written every exam still cannot get a degree.

When are IGNOU assignments due?

The general cut-offs are 31 March for the June term-end examination and 30 September for the December term-end examination, submitted at your assigned study centre.

Several Schools set their own earlier dates, and IGNOU extends the general deadline in many sessions. Both happen often enough that you should confirm your programme's date with your study centre or Regional Centre rather than relying on the general rule.

Which session's assignment questions should I answer?

Always the latest question paper released for your subject code, even if you registered in an earlier session. Answering an old question paper is a straightforward rejection because the study centre matches your answers against the current TMA. Send us your subject code and we will confirm which session's paper is current before anything is written.

Are your solved assignments ready to submit?

No. They are reference material.

Our solved assignment sets are model answers written against the current session's question paper for a given subject code, in English or Hindi medium. They exist to show you how a full-marks answer is structured, how much coverage each question needs, and what the presentation should look like, so that you can write your own submission. IGNOU requires work submitted in your name to be your own.

Do you cover Hindi medium assignments?

Yes, for most programmes. Hindi and English editions are separately written rather than machine-translated, because a translated commerce or psychology answer reads wrong to a Hindi-medium evaluator. Specify the medium when you order, since the two are prepared separately.

Which programmes and subject codes do you cover?

Effectively all of them. Bachelor's: BAG, BCOMG, BSCG, BCA, BLIS, BTS, BSW, BSWG, BBARL, BAECH, BAHIH, BAPSH, BAPCH, BAPAH, BASOH, BAEGH, BAHDH, BSCANH, BSCBCH, BAVTM and B.Ed. Master's: MCOM, MBA, MEG, MHD, MPS, MAH, MHI, MSO, MAPC, MEC, MPA, MLIS, MAAN, MGPS, MCA, MARD, MSCDFSM, MSCCFT, MSW, MSWC, MAEDU, MADE, MTTM, MAPY, MSCENV, MAFCS, MADVS, MAWGS, MAJMC and more. Plus the full PG diploma, diploma, PG certificate and certificate ranges. Send your code if you do not see it.

What is the correct IGNOU assignment front page format?

The cover page normally needs your name, enrolment number, programme code, course code, assignment code, study centre code, Regional Centre, session and your signature with the date. Formats differ slightly by School, so use the one printed in your own assignment booklet.

Free printable formats in PDF and Word are on our IGNOU assignment front page format page.

Can I submit assignments online?

It depends on your Regional Centre and the session. Several Regional Centres accept email or portal submission and others require physical submission at the study centre, and this has changed session to session. Our guide to online and offline assignment submission covers the current position, but confirm with your own study centre before the deadline.

How much do assignments count and what is the pass mark?

Assignments generally carry 25 to 30 percent of the course result. The pass mark is commonly 40 percent for bachelor's-level courses and 50 percent for master's-level courses, applied separately to the assignment component and the examination component. Your programme guide states the exact figures.

I submitted my assignment but no marks are showing. What do I do?

Assignment marks appear on the grade card once your study centre has uploaded them, which normally takes four to six weeks and longer at peak times. If nothing has appeared after two months, take your submission receipt to your study centre first, then escalate to your Regional Centre, then to iGRAM. Keep the receipt: without it you have no case.

Handwritten assignments

Price, delivery, handwriting samples and how we avoid the duplicate-handwriting problem.

What is a handwritten IGNOU assignment?

A handwritten assignment is your answer set written out by hand on ruled A4 sheets, in a legible examiner-friendly hand, rather than typed and printed.

Many study centres prefer or require handwritten submission for Tutor Marked Assignments, and students who are working, who have several subjects due at once, or who write slowly use a writing service to meet the deadline. We prepare these as a presentation and formatting reference, written from professor-checked answer sets.

How much does a handwritten IGNOU assignment cost?

Rs 320 per subject, reduced from a list price of Rs 350. The price includes the answer sheets, the front page, stationery and courier anywhere in India.

There is no separate charge for the cover page and no delivery surcharge for standard timelines. Bulk orders across several subject codes are quoted together.

How long does delivery take?

Seven to nine working days from order confirmation, couriered PAN India with a tracking number shared on WhatsApp. Delhi NCR students can collect from the Dwarka office and skip the transit time. If you are inside your deadline by less than a week, tell us before ordering so we can say honestly whether it is achievable.

Can I see the handwriting before I pay?

Yes. We send a photo of the actual handwriting on WhatsApp before you pay.

Ask for it. Handwriting is the one thing you cannot judge from a website, and any service unwilling to show you a sample before payment is asking you to buy blind.

Will my handwriting look the same as other students'?

No, and this matters more than most students realise. We write each order individually rather than photocopying a master set, and the same writer completes all subjects in one student's order so the hand is consistent across your submission. Cheap handwritten PDFs sold at scale carry identical handwriting across thousands of submissions, and study centres do notice.

Do you supply scanned PDFs as well as hard copies?

Yes, where your Regional Centre accepts digital submission. Scanned copies are prepared for you individually and are not resold. We do not sell low-cost shared handwritten PDFs, for the duplicate-handwriting reason above.

Which programmes do you write handwritten assignments for?

All major programmes, including MBA with the MMPC codes, MCOM with MCO and IBO codes, BAG, BCOMG, BSCG, BCA with the BCS and BCSL codes, MCA with MCS codes, MA streams, MAPC, MSW, MLIS, MARD, MAEDU, MTTM, MPA, MAEC, MASO, MAPS, MAHI, MGPS, MAANY and the diploma and certificate ranges. Send your programme and subject codes on WhatsApp for confirmation.

Do you write in Hindi as well as English?

Yes. Hindi-medium handwritten assignments are written by writers who work in Devanagari regularly, because a Hindi answer written by an English-medium hand looks laboured and is harder for an evaluator to read. State the medium when you order.

Is a handwritten assignment better than a typed one?

Not academically, but it can be procedurally. Some study centres accept only handwritten TMAs, and some evaluators mark handwritten sets more generously simply because they read as effort. If your centre accepts typed submissions and you are comfortable typing, there is no marks advantage to paying for handwriting.

What is included with the order?

  • The complete handwritten answer set on ruled A4 sheets
  • A filled front page in your programme's format, free
  • A handwriting sample photo on WhatsApp before payment
  • Courier anywhere in India with tracking

What is not included is the study centre submission itself. You submit, and you keep the receipt.

Can I order handwritten assignments for the current session?

Yes, we take orders for the running session as soon as the question papers are released, and both the January and July session cycles. Order early in the cycle rather than in the fortnight before the cut-off, when writer capacity across the whole market is stretched.

Practicals, internship, field work and viva

The components students forget about until the grade card shows them as incomplete.

Which IGNOU programmes have practical components?

More than students expect. Computer programmes carry lab courses, BCA with the BCSL codes and MCA with the MCSL codes. Psychology carries practicum work. Nutrition and food science programmes such as DNHE and MSCDFSM carry laboratory and dietetics practicals. Nursing, science and library science programmes carry their own. Social work programmes carry field work rather than laboratory practicals.

Practical components are separately assessed and separately recorded, which is why a student can pass every written paper and still show as incomplete.

How do I check my IGNOU practical status?

Practical marks appear on your grade card alongside theory and assignment marks, usually under the practical course code rather than the theory code. If the theory row is filled and the practical row is blank, the practical record has not reached the evaluation branch. That is a Regional Centre and study centre issue, and it needs your practical attendance record or submission receipt to resolve.

What is an IGNOU practical file and what goes in it?

A practical file is the written record of the practical work you performed: the aim of each exercise, the method, your observations, the result and your conclusion, signed off by your counsellor.

For lab courses it holds programs, outputs and screenshots. For psychology it holds test administration records, scoring and interpretation. For nutrition it holds diet plans, food analysis records and case records. The file is submitted at your study centre and is usually assessed alongside a practical examination or viva.

Do you help with practical files?

Yes, with the written record: structuring each exercise, writing up the method and observations, formatting the file to your programme's requirements, and printing and binding it. The practical work itself, the lab sessions and the attendance, must be yours. A counsellor who signs off a file for a student who never attended is exposed just as a project guide would be.

Do I have to attend practical counselling sessions?

Yes, where your programme has a practical component. Theory counselling is generally optional but practical attendance is usually compulsory and often carries a minimum percentage requirement. Missing it is not recoverable by writing a better file. Check the requirement with your study centre coordinator at the start of the session, not at the end.

Which IGNOU programmes require an internship or field work?

Social work programmes carry structured field work with a supervised placement and a field work journal. Several management, health management, hospitality, tourism and education programmes carry an internship or practice-teaching component. Nursing programmes carry clinical postings. Your programme guide sets the number of days, the type of organisation, and what the report must contain.

Do you help with internship reports and field work journals?

Yes. We help you structure the report, write up your daily or weekly records into a coherent narrative, prepare the organisational profile section, and format the whole thing with the certificates and annexures your programme requires. The placement, the attendance and the supervisor's certificate come from you and your organisation.

What happens at the IGNOU viva voce?

Where your programme requires one, the viva is usually held at your Regional Centre, in person, and typically runs 10 to 30 minutes. Its purpose is to confirm that you did the work and understand it. Expect questions on why you chose the topic, how you collected your data, what your findings were and what the limitations are.

Attending is mandatory where it is prescribed. Skipping the viva means the project is not completed regardless of how good the report is, and your final mark combines the report evaluation with the viva.

How do I prepare for the viva?

Read your own report twice, out loud. Be able to say in one sentence what you studied, why, and what you found. Know your sample size and how you chose it, because that is the most commonly asked question. Have an honest answer ready for what you would do differently, because examiners ask it and a candidate who claims their study had no limitations sounds like they did not do it.

Books, study material and notes

Official material, our help books, and where to get each free or paid.

Where do I get official IGNOU study material free?

Two places. Printed self-learning material comes from the Material Distribution Unit of your Regional Centre after your admission is confirmed. Digital copies of most blocks are free on eGyanKosh, IGNOU's own repository.

Neither costs anything beyond your programme fee. If your printed material has not arrived several weeks after admission, raise it with your Regional Centre and, if that fails, through iGRAM. Our eGyanKosh guide explains how to find your programme's blocks in the repository.

What is the difference between IGNOU study material and your help books?

IGNOU self-learning materialShri Chakradhar help books
SourceWritten and issued by the universityWritten and published by us
CostIncluded in your programme feePriced per title
LengthFull blocks, several hundred pages per courseCondensed A5 guides organised by unit
PurposePrimary learning textRevision, exam preparation, last-minute recall

The help book is not a replacement for the official material. It is what you read in the fortnight before the examination when reading the full blocks again is not realistic.

What are your Last Minute Exam Guides?

Printed A5 guides organised by subject code and unit, written to the syllabus sequence, with previous-year question coverage and answer structure for the sections that carry the most marks. They exist for a specific use: revising a full paper in a short window. Published under the Shri Chakradhar imprint and written by BK Sahni.

Do you have Hindi medium books?

Yes, across most programmes. Hindi editions are separately written rather than translated, because IGNOU's Hindi-medium papers use their own terminology and a translated guide teaches the wrong vocabulary. Our MCom semester guides, for example, exist as separate English and Hindi titles.

Do you have short notes for quick revision?

Yes. Short notes condense a unit to its definitions, key terms, diagrams and the points that recur in question papers. They are the shortest thing we publish and they are meant for the final days before an examination, not for learning a subject from scratch. See IGNOU study notes.

Can I download IGNOU books as PDF?

Official IGNOU blocks are downloadable free from eGyanKosh in PDF. Our own published help books are printed titles and are sold as books, not free PDFs, because they are original work rather than copies of university material. Some of our question paper compilations and guess papers are sold as PDFs at Rs 49 per subject.

Where can I buy your books?

At the Dwarka office, by courier anywhere in India ordered on WhatsApp, from shrichakradhar.com, and on Amazon India under the Shri Chakradhar imprint. Programme-wise listings are on ignoustudymaterial.com.

Which programmes do your help books cover?

Master's: MBA with the MMPC codes, MCOM, MARD, MTTM, MEG, MHD, MSW, MEC, MAH, MPS, MPA, MSO, MAPC, MAAN, MAEDU, MSCDFSM, MGPS, MLIS, MSCCFT, MSWC, MCA and MAJMC. Bachelor's: the full CBCS ranges for BAG, BCOMG and BSCG, the BA Honours streams, BCA, BLIS, BSW, BTS and B.Ed. Plus PG diploma, diploma and certificate titles.

Is IGNOU study material enough to pass the exam?

For most theory papers, yes, if you actually read it. IGNOU sets its papers from its own blocks, which is why the material is dense and why students who read only guides sometimes miss questions drawn from a unit the guide compressed. The realistic approach is to read the blocks during the session and use guides, notes and previous-year papers for revision.

My study material has not arrived. What should I do?

Contact the Material Distribution Unit at your Regional Centre with your enrolment number and the date your admission was confirmed. If there is no resolution, raise a ticket on iGRAM. In the meantime download your blocks free from eGyanKosh so your reading is not held up while the dispatch is chased.

Guess papers and previous year question papers

What each is for, what they cost, and the honest limits of a guess paper.

What is an IGNOU guess paper?

A guess paper is a set of the questions most likely to appear in your term-end examination for a subject code, compiled by analysing several years of past papers for repetition and weightage, supplied with answers.

It is a revision tool, not a prediction. Questions repeat across IGNOU papers often enough that pattern analysis is genuinely useful, but no compiler knows the paper. Treat a guess paper as the highest-probability revision list, not as the exam.

How much do guess papers cost?

Rs 49 per subject as an instant PDF download, delivered on WhatsApp or email. Session-specific editions are prepared before each June and December cycle. Browse by subject code on our guess papers page or at ignouguesspaper.com.

Are guess papers reliable?

Partly, and it is worth being precise about that. Our compilations typically cover a substantial share of the paper because IGNOU reuses questions heavily, but coverage varies by subject and by how recently the syllabus changed. A subject whose syllabus was revised last year has less usable history behind it. Anyone quoting you a fixed accuracy percentage across all subjects is making it up.

What are previous year question papers and why use them?

Previous year question papers, often called PYQs, are the actual term-end papers IGNOU set in earlier sessions. They are the single most useful revision resource available, because they show you the real question phrasing, the mark split between sections, which units are examined heavily and which are barely touched, and how much you are expected to write.

Solve them under timed conditions rather than reading them. Reading a past paper feels productive and teaches you almost nothing about whether you can finish in three hours.

Where can I download IGNOU previous year question papers?

Unsolved past papers are available on the university's own site and on eGyanKosh. Our solved compilations, arranged by subject code and term with worked answers, are at IGNOU solved question papers and by code at ignouquestionpaper.com, at Rs 49 per subject as PDF.

What is the difference between a guess paper and a previous year paper?

Previous year question paperGuess paper
What it isThe actual paper IGNOU set in a past sessionLikely questions compiled from pattern analysis
CertaintyDefinite. It was really askedProbable. It may be asked
Best used forTimed practice and understanding the patternPrioritising what to revise when time is short
When to useTwo to four weeks before the examThe final week

Use both. They do different jobs and neither replaces the other.

Do you have solved question papers in Hindi?

Yes, for programmes IGNOU offers in Hindi medium. Hindi solved papers are prepared separately using the terminology the Hindi-medium paper actually uses, since a translated answer often fails to match the expected vocabulary.

How many years of past papers should I solve?

Three to five years is the practical range for most subjects. Beyond five years the syllabus has often shifted enough that older papers mislead more than they help. If your subject code changed recently, the useful history starts from the change, not before it.

Do question papers repeat in IGNOU exams?

Frequently, and this is the core reason PYQ practice works. IGNOU draws from a finite question bank per course, so long-answer questions in particular recur across sessions with minor rewording. Mapping which questions have appeared in three or more of the last five sessions gives you a realistic priority list.

Can I get guess papers and question papers for my subject if it is not listed?

Send the subject code on WhatsApp. Our published catalogue covers the high-demand codes, but we compile on request for others where enough past-paper history exists, and we will tell you plainly if it does not.

Results, grade card, revaluation and status checks

Short answers here. Each of these has a dedicated page with the live links and full walkthrough.

When are IGNOU term-end results declared?

The university holds term-end examinations twice a year, in June and December, and results are normally declared within roughly six to eight weeks of the examinations finishing, released programme by programme rather than all at once.

Current session dates and declarations: IGNOU June 2026 result.

How do I check my assignment status and marks?

Assignment marks appear on the grade card once your study centre has uploaded them, which normally takes four to six weeks after submission and can take longer at peak times. If marks are missing after two months, raise it with your study centre first and then your Regional Centre.

Step-by-step: IGNOU assignment result and status check.

What is the IGNOU grade card and how is it different from a marksheet?

The grade card is your running record of every course: assignment marks, term-end marks, practical and project marks, and the status of each. It updates through your programme. The marksheet or provisional certificate is issued at the end, once everything is complete. Students chasing a "marksheet" mid-programme are usually looking for the grade card.

My grade card shows a course as blank or incomplete. Why?

The usual causes are an assignment submitted but not uploaded by the study centre, a term-end paper written but not linked to your enrolment, a project or practical submitted but not yet evaluated, or an examination form submitted for a course you had not re-registered for. All four are records issues rather than failures, and all four are fixed by your Regional Centre. Keep your submission receipts.

How do I calculate my IGNOU percentage or division?

Your overall percentage is calculated from the weighted marks across all completed courses, with assignments and term-end marks combined in the ratio your programme prescribes. Division cut-offs differ between bachelor's and master's programmes. Our IGNOU percentage calculator does the arithmetic from your grade card figures.

How do I download my hall ticket or admit card?

Hall tickets are released roughly seven to ten days before the term-end examinations begin and are downloaded with your enrolment number and programme code. See IGNOU hall ticket download for the current link and the common download errors.

Can I apply for revaluation?

Yes, within the window IGNOU announces after each result declaration, on payment of the prescribed per-paper fee.

Revaluation applies to term-end examination answer scripts only. Assignment, project and practical marks follow a different correction route through your Regional Centre. Revaluation can move a mark down as well as up, and the revised mark stands. Details and the form: IGNOU revaluation process.

What is the difference between revaluation and rechecking?

Revaluation means the script is marked again by a different examiner. Rechecking, where offered, only verifies that all answers were marked and the totals added correctly. Rechecking is cheaper and faster but cannot change a marking judgement. If you believe the marking itself was wrong, revaluation is the route.

How do I download my IGNOU ID card?

The identity card is generated from your admission record and downloaded from the student portal using your enrolment number and programme code. You need it at the examination hall and to submit a project synopsis, since a copy of the ID card goes into the synopsis file.

What is iGRAM and when should I use it?

iGRAM is IGNOU's official grievance redressal portal, and it is the escalation route when your Regional Centre has not resolved something.

Use it for study material not delivered, assignment or practical marks missing after a reasonable wait, grade card errors, project status stuck for months, or admission and re-registration problems. Raise the issue with your study centre and Regional Centre first, keep the reference numbers, then escalate. Tickets with a receipt attached get resolved; tickets without one usually do not.

How do I check my project status and project marks?

Project status is checked on the official project status portal with your enrolment number and programme code. Project marks appear on your grade card with your term-end results. Full walkthrough: how to check your IGNOU project status.

Where is the IGNOU head office and when should I contact it directly?

IGNOU's head office is at Maidan Garhi, New Delhi 110068. For most issues your Regional Centre is the correct first contact and going straight to Maidan Garhi slows things down. The head office matters mainly for project report submission in programmes that require it, where reports go to The Registrar (SED) at that address, and for matters your Regional Centre has formally declined.

Admission, duration and re-registration

Programme lifecycle questions, from enrolling to receiving your degree.

What programmes does IGNOU offer?

IGNOU runs certificate, diploma, advanced diploma, associate degree, bachelor's and master's programmes across both conventional subjects and applied or vocational ones, at durations from six months upward. The current list is in the Common Prospectus on ignou.ac.in, updated each admission cycle.

When can I take admission?

IGNOU runs two admission cycles a year, January and July, plus walk-in admission for some programmes.

You can apply in either cycle provided you meet the eligibility criteria. The admission schedule, including the last date for each cycle, is published on ignou.ac.in and is extended fairly often, so check the live date rather than assuming last session's.

How do I apply for admission?

Applications for programmes in the Common Prospectus go through the online admission system at onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in. Create a user ID and password, complete the admission form, upload the required documents, and pay the programme fee through the online payment gateway. Keep the payment reference and a copy of the submitted form.

How do I check whether my admission is confirmed?

When you submit the form, the system generates a control number straight away. That is an acknowledgement, not a confirmation. Once admission is actually confirmed, the system generates your nine-digit enrolment number and sends it by SMS to your registered mobile number. If you have a control number but no enrolment number after several weeks, contact your Regional Centre with the control number.

How does studying at IGNOU actually work?

IGNOU uses a multiple-media model rather than regular classroom teaching. It combines printed or digital self-learning material, face-to-face academic counselling at study centres, electronic media including audio, video, radio, television and webcasts, and practical components where the programme requires them. Your performance is assessed continuously through assignments, projects and practicals alongside the term-end examination.

The practical consequence is that nobody chases you. Deadlines for assignments, re-registration and examination forms are yours to track.

What is self-learning material and how do I get it?

Self-learning material, often called SLM, is the programme-specific study material IGNOU writes for each course, issued as booklets called blocks and covering both theory and any practical component. It is the primary text for your course and your examinations are set from it.

After your admission or registration is confirmed, the Material Distribution Unit of your Regional Centre issues it, either for collection in person or by post. Digital copies of most blocks are also available free on eGyanKosh.

Where does academic counselling take place?

At your assigned study centre, usually on Sundays, covering both theory and practical sessions. Counselling is not compulsory for most theory courses but is compulsory for practical components in the programmes that have them. Attendance requirements vary by programme, so check with your study centre coordinator rather than assuming it is optional.

When do I need to re-register, and how?

Re-registration is online only, through the schedule published for the January and July sessions.

It applies to the next year or semester of your programme depending on its structure. Students in certificate programmes, and in diploma programmes of one year or less, do not re-register at all, since the whole programme is covered by the original admission.

Do I have to wait for my results before re-registering?

No. In the open and distance learning system you can register for the next year or semester without waiting for the previous year's results, and without having appeared for the previous year's examination.

Waiting for results is one of the more common reasons students lose a session unnecessarily. Re-register within the announced window regardless of where your results have reached.

When are the term-end examinations held?

Twice a year, in June and December. To appear, your registration for the course must be valid and the minimum duration for the course must have been completed: six months for certificate and semester-based programmes, one year for diploma and degree programmes assessed annually. You also need to have submitted the examination form within its window and paid the per-course examination fee.

What are the minimum and maximum duration for a programme?

TermWhat it meansTypical value
Minimum durationThe shortest period after registration before your performance in a course can be assessedSix months for certificate and semester-based programmes, one year for annually assessed diploma and degree programmes
Maximum durationThe longest period you have to complete the whole programmeVaries by programme. Check your Common Prospectus, programme guide or ignou.ac.in

Maximum duration is the one to watch. It is the deadline that quietly ends programmes, because students track individual course deadlines and forget the overall clock.

What happens if I do not finish within the maximum duration?

You are not automatically out. You can apply for readmission by submitting a completed readmission form and paying the course fee, on a pro-rata basis, for the courses you have not yet cleared. You pay only for the incomplete courses, not the whole programme again.

The fee paid for readmission remains valid for a limited period, generally: six months for six-month certificate programmes; one year for one-year diploma and PG diploma programmes, including BLIS, MLIS and MADE; and two consecutive academic years, or four consecutive semesters, for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes with a minimum duration of two years or more.

Are IGNOU degrees and diplomas recognised?

Yes. IGNOU degrees, diplomas and certificates are recognised by all member universities of the Association of Indian Universities and are treated as equivalent to those awarded by other Indian universities and institutions.

IGNOU is a central university established by an Act of Parliament. For employment or further study abroad, individual institutions may have their own verification requirements, which is a separate matter from recognition in India.

When will I receive my degree or diploma?

Degrees and diplomas are awarded at the convocation held for the relevant academic session, after all your courses including assignments, practicals and any project are complete on your grade card. You can apply to receive it in person at the convocation or by post. If a course is still showing as incomplete on your grade card, resolve that with your Regional Centre first, because convocation eligibility is generated from the grade card.

Verify before you act. Dates, fees and submission routes on this page reflect the general position as of August 2026 and are checked against IGNOU and Samarth notifications before each update. IGNOU changes deadlines, submission routes and per-programme rules regularly, and your programme handbook overrides anything written here. Always confirm on ignou.ac.in or with your Regional Centre before you submit or pay.
