Quick answer. An IGNOU MCA guess paper is a revision set of important and recurring questions, with model answers, for one MCA_NEW course code such as MCS-211, prepared by a publisher from IGNOU’s past term-end papers and the syllabus. The December 2026 term-end examination runs from 25 November 2026 to 14 January 2027 on IGNOU’s revised tentative date sheet of 5 October 2026, and the MCA papers fall between MCS-231 on 27 November and MCS-227 on 31 December. Every 4-credit MCS paper compared here is 3 hours and 100 marks, with a compulsory 40-mark Question 1 and any three of four 20-mark questions; MCS-214 and MCS-215 are 2-hour, 50-mark papers. A set costs ₹49 per subject code as a PDF or ₹100 per subject code as a printed copy, plus a one-time ₹100 courier charge on a printed order, and it is prepared in English, the only medium the July 2026 Common Prospectus lists for MCA_NEW. No one outside IGNOU knows the questions in advance.
MCA December 2026 Sitting Order: MCS-231 on 27 November to MCS-227 on 31 December
The first MCA_NEW paper of the December 2026 cycle is MCS-231 Mobile Computing on Friday 27 November 2026, and the last is MCS-227 Cloud Computing and IoT on Thursday 31 December 2026, according to IGNOU’s revised tentative date sheet dated 5 October 2026. The whole term-end cycle runs from 25 November 2026 to 14 January 2027, so every MCA paper is over a fortnight before the cycle closes.

Fourteen to Eighteen December: Five MCS Papers on Five Days
A learner carrying Semester I and Semester II codes together meets five consecutive exam days. MCS-215 sits on Monday 14 December, MCS-218 on Tuesday 15, MCS-212 on Wednesday 16, MCS-219 on Thursday 17 and MCS-213 on Friday 18. A Semester I learner alone gets a free day between each of those papers.
| Run of days | Codes in date order | Who meets it |
|---|---|---|
| 2 and 3 Dec | MCS-201, MCS-230 | Category 2 bridge learner who also sits Semester IV |
| 14 to 18 Dec | MCS-215, MCS-218, MCS-212, MCS-219, MCS-213 | Semester I and Semester II together |
| 21 to 23 Dec | MCS-224, MCS-214, MCS-225 | Semester III with a Semester I backlog in MCS-214 |
| 28 and 29 Dec | MCS-221, MCS-226 | Semester II backlog with Semester III |

No two MCA_NEW codes share a date in December 2026, so there is no clash in the strict sense. The first free tool below finds the runs for your own combination.
What One MCS Term-End Paper Is Worth Against the MCS-211 Assignment
The term-end examination carries 70 per cent of the final course result and assignments carry the remaining 30 per cent. For MCA_NEW that split is printed, not assumed: every MCS-211, MCS-212 and MCS-213 paper compared here carries a weightage line of 70 per cent, and the MCS-211 assignment booklet for 2025 prints a weightage of 30 per cent.
The same booklet sets the assignment at 100 marks, of which 80 are written and 20 come from a compulsory viva voce, and it makes submission before the due date a condition for sitting the term-end paper. So the assignment decides whether you sit, and the term-end paper decides most of the grade.
The two 2-credit courses behave differently on paper. MCS-214 and MCS-215 print no weightage line at all on any of the six papers compared, so for those two codes the MCA_NEW Programme Guide of July 2025 is the document to check. Minimum pass marks are not stated on this page; the MCA grade card guide and the IGNOU percentage calculator help once results appear.
MCA Guess Paper, IGNOU’s Own MCS Paper or a Solved Copy: Picking One per Code
A guess paper is a revision set of important and recurring questions for one course code, such as MCS-212, with model answers, prepared by a publisher from past papers and the syllabus; the same product is sold under the names important questions, expected questions and model paper. A previous year question paper is the actual paper IGNOU set in an earlier term-end examination, free on IGNOU’s archive. A solved question paper is that actual paper with a publisher’s model answers added.
For MCA the choice runs code by code. MCS-211 and MCS-212 reward working problems on IGNOU’s own papers, because the marks sit in traces and proofs. MCS-213 and MCS-215 reward structured answers on recurring themes, which is where a set saves time.
| Question | Guess paper | Previous year paper | Solved paper |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | Recurring themes for one MCS code, with model answers | The exact paper IGNOU set in one session | That exact paper with model answers |
| Who makes it | A publisher | IGNOU | A publisher, on IGNOU’s paper |
| Cost | ₹49 PDF or ₹100 printed per code here | Free on ignou.ac.in | Varies by publisher |
| Best for | Ranking themes and answer length before December | Timed practice on the real format | Checking your own working |

The solved IGNOU question papers collection covers the third column, and the all-programme guess paper index lists sets for other programmes.
MCA_NEW codes only. Each set is mapped to an MCS-2xx code from the July 2026 prospectus, never to the older MCS-0xx list.
Traces, not only definitions. MCS-211 and MCS-212 answers work the table, the tree or the recurrence step by step.
Sized to 5-mark parts. Question 1 answers are kept to the length eight 5-mark parts allow in 68 minutes.
Diagrams for MCS-213. DFD levels, process models and UML sketches are drawn where the answer needs them.
Separate 2-hour format. MCS-214 and MCS-215 sets follow their own 50-mark layout.
English, as IGNOU sets it. MCA_NEW is examined in English, so sets are prepared in English.
Bridge courses included. MCS-201 and MCS-208 sets exist for Category 2 entrants.
Built for December 2026. Each set is written for the upcoming December 2026 term-end examination, not for a session that has already passed.
WhatsApp delivery of the PDF. The PDF is shared once payment is confirmed.
Printed copy dispatched next day. Courier details follow on WhatsApp; no arrival date is promised.
Any number of codes. One code or ten, the same rate per format.
No claim about the questions. The set ranks themes; it does not say what IGNOU will ask.

Semester I adds up to 16 theory credits, Semester II to 16, Semester III to 16 and Semester IV to 8, which gives the 56 theory credits above. The lab courses and the MCSP-232 project have no theory paper on the date sheet, so they sit outside this table.
Two Bridge Codes for Category 2 Entrants
A learner admitted under Category 2 (a B.Sc., B.Com. or B.A. with Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation) studies MCS-201 and MCS-208 in the first semester, per the July 2026 prospectus. Both have December 2026 papers.

The MCS-211 paper is 3 hours and 100 marks: Question 1 is compulsory for 40 marks, split into eight 5-mark parts, and the candidate answers any three of Questions 2 to 5 at 20 marks each, per IGNOU’s December 2025 MCS-211 paper. Eight 5-mark parts means eight different topics in one question, so a learner who skips a whole unit loses marks before reaching the choice.
Pattern change: MCS-211 Question 1 doubled its parts after 2022
The MCS-211 Question 1 changed shape between December 2022 and December 2023. The December 2021 paper split it into five parts worth 5, 10, 10, 10 and 5 marks, and the December 2022 paper into five parts worth 6, 6, 8, 10 and 10. From December 2023 to December 2025, four papers in a row set eight parts of 5 marks each. A revision set built on the older papers trains 10-mark answers where IGNOU now asks for 5-mark ones.
Same Code, Different Paper: ODL MCA_NEW and Online MCAOL
Filed under IGNOU’s June 2023 eVidya Bharti folder, an MCS-211 paper headed Master of Computer Applications (MCAOL) uses three sections: any five of seven 4-mark questions, any five of seven 10-mark questions and any two of three 15-mark questions, per that MCAOL MCS-211 paper. The ODL MCA_NEW paper for the same code keeps the compulsory 40-mark Question 1 instead. Learners in the online MCA should confirm their own paper’s layout before practising; every pattern on this page is the ODL MCA_NEW one.
Old MCS-0xx Codes and Other Conflicts to Check
Conflicts and outdated material found while compiling this page
- IGNOU’s December 2025 question paper index still lists the older MCA codes MCS-011 to MCS-053 beside the MCA_NEW codes, and the December 2026 sheet still schedules them. Those belong to the earlier MCA programme. Guess material for MCS-011 or MCS-031 does not fit an MCA_NEW learner, and several free download pages still sell the old list as current.
- In the July 2026 Common Prospectus, the MCA_NEW course table breaks across pages 79 and 80, and Semesters II to IV print inside the next programme’s entry. A reader of the MCA page alone sees only Semester I.
- The same prospectus spells MCS-224 as “Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learing” where the MA Economics entry borrows the course.
- The prospectus titles MCSL-223 “Computer Network and Data Mining Lab”; the July 2025 Programme Guide says “Computer Networks”.
- IGNOU’s own papers print the programme name at least five ways, from “Master of Computer Applications (MCA–NEW)” to “Master in Computer Applications” and “Master of Computer Application (MCA)”.
- In-house: the older IGNOU MCA overview page on this site still shows 2019 assignment dates and lists no MCS-2xx code. It is being corrected; the tables on this page are current.
No separate MCS course-code page is published on ignouproject.com yet, so the code tables above are the reference for each MCS code.
Twenty-Six MCS Papers Side by Side: What IGNOU Set Again, December 2021 to December 2025
Dijkstra’s shortest-path algorithm, a minimum spanning tree question and the P, NP and NP-complete classes each appeared in all six MCS-211 papers from December 2021 to December 2025. That is the strongest repeat in the MCA_NEW papers compared, and it holds across both the old and the new Question 1 layouts.

Floyd-Warshall is the one near-constant that missed the latest paper: five sessions in a row, then absent in December 2025. Quicksort did the opposite, missing December 2023 and returning in the three papers since.
A 5-mark Dijkstra answer, built to the MCS-211 pattern
When a 5-mark part asks for shortest paths from one source, the marks follow the working. A complete answer states the source, draws a distance table with one row per iteration, marks the vertex fixed in each row, and ends with the final distances and the path to one named vertex. Two sentences on why a fixed vertex never changes cover the reasoning. The December 2025 paper asked for Dijkstra from source “a” at 10 marks in Question 3(a); the same table, with a line on time complexity, carries that longer version.

A proof that a square root is irrational has opened the last three MCS-212 papers in a row, as Question 1(a) or 1(b), each time on a different number. The December 2023 paper is the odd one out in layout: its Question 1 had ten 4-mark parts, where the other five papers set eight parts of 5 marks.
Algorithm Topics That Turned Up in MCS-212
MCS-212 sometimes borrows from MCS-211. The December 2023 MCS-212 paper asked for Floyd-Warshall in Question 2(b) and for the steps of dynamic programming in Question 1(c), and the December 2025 paper asked about the P and NP classes in Question 4(c). A learner sitting both papers in December, on 16 and 26 December, revises those three topics once for two papers.

COCOMO by name appeared in four of the seven MCS-213 papers: December 2021, June 2023, June 2024 and June 2025. Mobile application development is the newer theme, present in each of the four latest papers and in none of the three before June 2023. A railway reservation system has been the worked example twice, for an SRS and DFDs in June 2022 and for DFD levels in June 2025.

MCS-214 Is a Language Paper, Not a Theory Paper
Both MCS-214 papers compared, June 2024 and June 2025, are 2-hour, 50-mark English papers that say “answer all”: a comprehension passage, a fill-in exercise on articles, a letter, and two short notes chosen from four. All four elements appeared in 2 of 2 papers. Practice on a timed passage and a 150-word letter is worth more here than memorised notes.

The counts come from 26 IGNOU term-end papers for the ODL MCA_NEW programme, each compared question by question by ignouproject.com on 14 October 2026: six MCS-211 papers (MCS-211 December 2021, MCS-211 December 2022, MCS-211 December 2023, MCS-211 June 2024, MCS-211 June 2025, MCS-211 December 2025), six MCS-212 papers (MCS-212 December 2022, MCS-212 June 2023, MCS-212 December 2023, MCS-212 December 2024, MCS-212 June 2025, MCS-212 December 2025), seven MCS-213 papers (MCS-213 December 2021, MCS-213 June 2022, MCS-213 December 2022, MCS-213 June 2023, MCS-213 December 2023, MCS-213 June 2024, MCS-213 June 2025), two MCS-214 papers (MCS-214 June 2024, MCS-214 June 2025) and four MCS-215 papers (MCS-215 December 2023, MCS-215 June 2024, MCS-215 June 2025, MCS-215 December 2025).
Matching is at topic level and is a human judgement: a fractional and a 0/1 knapsack question count as one theme, and a cell names the question number where the theme sat. A count such as 6 of 6 says what IGNOU set before; it is not a forecast. The newest MCS-213 and MCS-214 papers in the comparison are from June 2025. The theme tables cover MCS-211, MCS-212, MCS-213, MCS-214 and MCS-215; for the Semester II, III and IV codes and the two bridge courses, the format is confirmed against the latest IGNOU paper on WhatsApp.
What IGNOU’s own MCA files get wrong
- Weightage appears as “Weightate” on the June 2024 MCS-211 paper, and the December 2022 paper prints “CNF-Safisfiability”.
- The December 2025 MCS-212 paper prints “Greneralized Pigeonhole principle” and lists five short-note items under a mark line that adds up to three of them.
- “Square rest of 3” stands in for square root in the June 2025 MCS-212 paper.
- MCS-215 is titled “Security and Cyberlaws” on its June 2025 paper, which also spells Convention as “Convension”; the December 2023 paper heads a question “JPR issues” for IPR.
- Five blanks are marked on the June 2025 MCS-214 articles exercise and only four are printed; the June 2024 paper says “answer all questions” above a question that asks for two of four.
- The December 2024 MCS-212 paper sits on IGNOU’s server under a general downloads path with no session in the address; only page 1 shows the session.
From an MCS Code to a Revision Set: Five Steps
- Route and code check. The code is matched to MCA_NEW (MCS-2xx), not the older MCS-0xx list, and the learner’s route (ODL MCA_NEW or online MCAOL) is noted, because the two set different MCS-211 layouts.
- Pattern taken from IGNOU’s latest paper. Time, marks, the compulsory question and the choice rule come from the most recent IGNOU paper for that code.
- Themes ranked by what IGNOU set. Topics that came back across sessions, counted as in the tables above, lead the set; topics seen once are kept short.
- Answers written to the marks. A 5-mark part gets a trace or a definition with one example; a 10-mark part gets method plus working; a diagram is drawn where the MCS-213 answer needs one.
- Review and WhatsApp delivery. Editorial review: BK Sahni. The PDF is shared on WhatsApp after payment; a printed copy is dispatched the next day.
Limits of an MCA Guess Paper, and Where It Earns Revision Time
A guess paper is a revision aid built from past IGNOU question papers and the syllabus. No one outside IGNOU knows the questions in advance, and no claim is made that any question in this set will appear in your examination.
What It Does for an MCS Candidate
It puts the six-of-six MCS-211 themes and the six-of-six MCS-212 themes in front of you first, sizes each answer to the 5-mark and 20-mark blocks IGNOU now sets, and gives MCS-213 and MCS-215 answers a structure you can reuse for whichever question appears.
Where a Numerical Paper Leaves Any Set Behind
MCS-211 and MCS-212 change the numbers every session: a new graph for Dijkstra, a new recurrence, a new set of letters to arrange. A model answer shows the method; only working fresh problems from the blocks and IGNOU’s papers builds speed. No set can say whether Floyd-Warshall returns after missing December 2025, and none replaces the eGyankosh blocks for a code you have not studied.
Revising without buying anything
IGNOU’s own MCS papers are free, and so are the course blocks. The eGyankosh guide to IGNOU blocks explains where MCS-211 to MCS-231 material is filed, the Gyankosh download route is the alternate path, the free IGNOU study notes cover short revision, and IGNOU book downloads list printed-block options. Working the 26 papers linked above under exam time is a full revision plan on its own.

IGNOU publishes MCA papers on its own site, and the newest set is the December 2025 session. The June 2026 question paper index was still empty on 14 October 2026.
- Open the session index on ignou.ac.in, as in the December 2025 index linked above, and find the MCS code in the course column.
- For 2021 to 2024 papers, use IGNOU’s webservices archive, where MCA_NEW papers sit in the SOCIS folder under MCA_NEW.
- Check the session printed on page 1 of the paper; one MCS-212 file carries no session in its address.
- Ignore MCS-0xx files unless you are in the older MCA programme, and ignore eVidya Bharti files unless you are in the online MCA.
The IGNOU last year paper guide walks through the archive in more detail, and the BCA question paper page helps with MCS-201, which BCA_NEW learners also sit. For dates, the December 2026 date sheet search by code and the general IGNOU date sheet explainer sit beside the official PDF, and IGNOU exam timing sets out the 10 AM and 2 PM slots.
What MCA Learners Check Once the Last MCS Paper Is Written
Before 27 November, the hall ticket comes first: the IGNOU hall ticket guide explains when it appears, the download steps cover a missing photo or centre, the exam centre page covers changes, and the IGNOU exam fee note covers the form for a backlog code.
After 31 December, results arrive in stages. The IGNOU term-end result page tracks December results, the June 2026 result tracker still serves learners waiting on June backlog papers, and assignment marks status shows the 30 per cent side. Re-evaluation has its own window, the final grade card guide covers completion, and the CGPA calculator converts grades.
Assignments, Notes and Books Often Ordered With MCS Sets
Learners preparing for December often settle the assignment side at the same time. Solved IGNOU assignments give reference answers, handwritten MCA_NEW assignment sets cover submission copies for every MCS code, and IGNOU help books and guide books online cover longer study. For the MCSL lab courses and the MCSP-232 project, the IGNOU project guidelines are the place to start.
English Only: Medium and Session for MCS Sets
Each set is prepared for the upcoming term-end examination, in every medium IGNOU examines that course in, and the medium for your course code is confirmed on WhatsApp before you pay. For MCA_NEW that medium is English: the July 2026 Common Prospectus lists English as the medium of instruction, and all 26 MCA_NEW papers compared are English-only. No Hindi MCA set is offered, because IGNOU does not examine MCA_NEW in Hindi. Every set on this page targets the December 2026 term-end examination; June 2027 sets follow once IGNOU issues that sheet.
Placing an MCS Order on WhatsApp: Codes, Format, Payment, Dispatch
The rate is ₹49 per subject code for a solved guess paper as a PDF, or ₹100 per subject code as a printed copy. Printed copies carry a one-time courier charge of ₹100 per order, whatever the number of subject codes; the PDF has no courier charge.
- Send your MCS codes and the route you are in (MCA_NEW or MCAOL) on WhatsApp to +91 93546 37830.
- Choose PDF or printed for each code; a mixed order is fine.
- The total is confirmed in the chat, with the courier line shown separately for printed copies.
- Pay as instructed in the chat.
- Receive the PDF on WhatsApp, or the courier details for the printed copy.
The PDF is shared on WhatsApp once payment is confirmed. A printed copy is dispatched the next day after payment is confirmed, and the courier details are shared on WhatsApp. No arrival date is promised, because transit time depends on the courier and your location. There is no minimum order: one subject or ten, same rate per format. The full list of service rates is on the services and charges page.

IGNOU documents. Course codes, credits and medium come from the July 2026 Common Prospectus and the July 2025 Programme Guide; dates from the revised tentative date sheet of 5 October 2026 and the 21 September 2026 version before it; weightage from the papers and the 2025 MCS-211 assignment booklet; patterns and themes from the 26 MCA_NEW papers listed in the counting method, plus the MCAOL paper noted in the code section.
Publisher’s analysis. The theme tables, the n of N counts, the time splits and the run-of-days table are ignouproject.com’s own work, compared on 14 October 2026. Topic matching is a judgement. The December 2026 sheet is still tentative, and slots and dates should be checked on the hall ticket.
Commercial terms. Prices, formats and dispatch are the publisher’s terms, set out in the ordering section, and are separate from anything IGNOU publishes.

Questions MCA Learners Send Before an MCS Paper
An IGNOU MCA guess paper contains the recurring questions for one MCA_NEW code, such as MCS-211, with model answers written to IGNOU’s marks. It is prepared from past term-end papers and the syllabus, and it is sold one course code at a time.
One MCS code costs ₹49 as a PDF or ₹100 as a printed copy. A printed order also carries a one-time ₹100 courier charge, however many codes it holds, while the PDF carries none. There is no minimum order, so one code or ten carries the same rate per format.
The IGNOU MCA papers in December 2026 run from MCS-231 on 27 November to MCS-227 on 31 December, per the revised tentative date sheet of 5 October 2026. Semester I runs from MCS-215 on 14 December to MCS-211 on 26 December.
Dijkstra’s algorithm, a minimum spanning tree question and the P, NP and NP-complete classes appeared in all six MCS-211 papers from December 2021 to December 2025. Floyd-Warshall and quicksort each appeared in five of six. These counts describe past papers and do not forecast the December 2026 paper.
No one can say whether any question from an MCA set will come in your exam, because no one outside IGNOU knows the questions in advance. A set ranks the themes IGNOU has set repeatedly and shows answer structure. It supports the blocks; it does not replace them.
MCS-211 now runs for 3 hours and 100 marks. Question 1 is compulsory for 40 marks in eight 5-mark parts, and you answer any three of Questions 2 to 5 at 20 marks each, per the December 2025 paper. Before December 2023, Question 1 had five parts with 10-mark pieces.
No, MCA sets are prepared in English only. The July 2026 Common Prospectus lists English as the medium of instruction for MCA_NEW, and every MCA_NEW paper compared on this page is in English. A Hindi set would not match the paper IGNOU sets, so it is not offered.
An MCA learner gets most from IGNOU’s own papers for MCS-211 and MCS-212, where marks sit in working problems, and from a guess paper for theory-led codes such as MCS-213 and MCS-215. Many use both: papers for timed practice, a set for themes.
No. A solved MCA question paper is one actual IGNOU paper, such as December 2025 MCS-212, with model answers added. A guess paper gathers the recurring themes of several sessions for one code, showing what returned across sessions.
No. MCS-011, MCS-031 and the other MCS-0xx codes belong to the older MCA programme, even though IGNOU still sets those papers. An MCA_NEW learner sits MCS-211 to MCS-231 and the bridge codes MCS-201 and MCS-208. Check the code on your hall ticket before buying any set.
Five MCS papers fall on five days in a row from 14 to 18 December 2026 for learners who carry Semester I and Semester II codes together: MCS-215, MCS-218, MCS-212, MCS-219 and MCS-213. A Semester I learner alone gets a free day between those papers. The first free tool shows your own runs.
MCS-214 and MCS-215 are 2-hour papers of 50 marks. MCS-215 sets a compulsory 20-mark Question 1 and any three of four 10-mark questions; MCS-214 asks you to answer all five questions, including a comprehension passage and a letter. Neither paper prints a weightage line.
Not always. An MCS-211 paper for the online MCAOL route, filed under June 2023, used three sections of 4, 10 and 15 marks, while the ODL MCA_NEW paper keeps a compulsory 40-mark Question 1. The patterns on this page are the ODL ones.
For 4-credit MCA_NEW courses, the term-end paper carries 70 per cent and the assignment 30 per cent, as printed on the MCS papers and the 2025 MCS-211 assignment booklet. That booklet gives 80 marks to written answers and 20 to a compulsory viva voce. The 2-credit papers print no weightage line.
Category 2 learners sit MCS-201 Programming in C and Python and MCS-208 Data Structures and Algorithms as bridge courses, with papers on 2 and 8 December 2026. Sets for both codes are available at the same rate.
IGNOU MCA question papers are free on ignou.ac.in, where the newest published session is December 2025; older MCA_NEW papers sit in IGNOU’s webservices archive under SOCIS. Check the session printed on page 1 of each file.
A printed MCA copy is dispatched the next day after payment is confirmed, and the courier details are shared on WhatsApp. No arrival date is promised, because transit depends on the courier and your location. The PDF follows payment on WhatsApp.
An MCA learner can judge any seller, this one included, on four checks: MCS-2xx codes, the current Question 1 layout, the December 2026 session named, and answers in exam format. A seller claiming a percentage of questions will come is claiming what nobody outside IGNOU can know.
