Preparing students with adequate knowledge in software industry academia for productive careers is the major objective of MCA. An excellent environment for teaching and research in the core and emerging areas of the discipline is provided. The programme focus on giving students a complete and comprehensive knowledge of theoretical and application oriented courses related to the latest computer software development field. The application of software technology to solve mathematical, computing, communications, networking and commercial problems are emphasized and focused in the programme.
The design of the master’s degree programme has been designed while keeping in mind the semester approach. Development in computers using various technologies is included in the first year of the course while second year include knowledge providing a conceptual framework and the third year is mainly focused on project work and specialization. PGSDA(Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications)certificate is then provided after successful completion of the first year courses.
Eligibility: Any Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 (three) year duration from a recognized University AND
Mathematics as one of the subject at 10+2 level or graduation level; else the student is required to pursue and pass the BCS12 course concurrently with IGNOU MCA.
Medium of Instruction: English
Duration: Minimum 3 years and Maximum 6 years; offered in both January & July cycle of admissions
Fee Structure: Rs. 64,800/- for full programme to be paid semester wise @Rs. 10,800/- per semester. Non Maths students have to pay Rs.1,400/- additional in the first semester.
The programme has been divided into two semesters one in the months between January to June and the other in the month between July to December. Consequently, there will be two examinations every year one in the first semester in the month of June and the other in December in the second semester of the programme. The students have the choice and freedom to appear any of the examinations conducted by the university during the year subject for completing the minimum time frame and other formalities prescribed for the programme.
