Why this matters more for MAHD than for most programmes
Submission cut-offs at IGNOU are set per School, not university-wide. The School of Management Studies works to 31 October and 30 April, and because management programmes dominate the assignment-help web, those two dates get reprinted as though they were universal. They are not the MAHD dates. The School of Humanities booklets for MHD print 31 March and 30 September. A MAHD learner who plans around 31 October has already missed the September cut-off by a month.
Dates do shift. The assignment last date at IGNOU is not fixed for all time: IGNOU has extended assignment windows in the past, and individual Regional Centres sometimes announce their own extension. Treat the two dates above as the working deadline and confirm the current one on ignou.ac.in before you rely on it. Thirty Marks Per Course That Decide Whether You Sit The Exam At All
Every MAHD course is assessed twice. The Tutor Marked Assignment carries a weightage of 30 per cent of the final course result and the term-end examination carries the remaining 70 per cent weightage. Each MHD assignment paper is set out of 100 marks. The MHD-07 booklet for July 2025 and January 2026 states plainly that under the university’s current rule, submitting the assignment is compulsory before sitting the examination, and that a learner who has not submitted will not be permitted to appear.
That makes the assignment a gate rather than a test. A learner who has read all six blocks of MHD-06 and can discuss the entire history of Hindi language and literature still cannot enter the examination hall on an unsubmitted paper. The 30 marks are also the easiest marks in the programme to bank, because the questions are printed in advance, the word limits are printed beside them, and there is no time pressure in the room.
The marks then travel. Assignment scores appear course by course on the grade card, alongside the term-end score, and the two are combined into the final course result. Learners tracking where they stand mid-programme usually start from the IGNOU assignment result and status page, then work out the combined figure with the IGNOU CGPA calculator.
What this page does not do is write instead of you thinking. This page is for learners whose time has run out, not for learners whose Hindi has.

Every MAHD Course Code, First Year And Second Year, From The July 2026 Prospectus
MAHD is the programme code IGNOU prints for Master of Arts (Hindi) in its Common Prospectus. The course codes inside it carry the older MHD prefix, and the online-mode version of the same degree is listed separately as MHDOL. All three refer to the same subject: MAHD is the programme, MHD is what is printed on the assignment paper, MHDOL is the online-mode variant. The programme runs 80 credits over a minimum of two years and a maximum of four, is admitted in both January and July cycles, and its medium of instruction is Hindi.

Second Year Electives — Choose Any Two Of The Four Modules, 32 Credits
This is the structural feature that separates MAHD from most IGNOU master’s programmes. The second-year electives are not loose papers, they are four named modules of four courses each, and a learner picks two whole modules. Each course inside a module carries 4 credits, so two modules come to 32 credits. Two MAHD learners in the same year can therefore be writing eight completely different course codes, which is why the code list on your own re-registration record is the only list that matters when ordering.

The arithmetic closes at 80 credits: 40 in the first year, 8 from the two compulsory second-year papers, and 32 from the two chosen modules. Course titles above are transcribed from the Master of Arts (Hindi) table in IGNOU’s Common Prospectus for July 2026. Read your exact codes off your admission or re-registration record rather than off any website, this one included, because the module you chose determines which eight of these codes apply to you.
Six conflicts found in MAHD sources, disclosed rather than quietly resolved
1. The deadline is reprinted wrongly across the web. Several assignment sites publish 31 October and 30 April for MHD. IGNOU’s own MHD-07 and MHD-16 booklets for July 2025 and January 2026 print 31 March and 30 September. The generic dates belong to the School of Management Studies.
2. The credit total is reprinted wrongly. Third-party syllabus pages describe MHD as a 64-credit programme. The July 2026 Common Prospectus sets Master of Arts (Hindi) at 80 credits, with five 8-credit first-year papers and 4-credit second-year courses.
3. IGNOU’s own MHD-07 booklet prints the wrong assignment code. The MHD-07 paper for July 2025 and January 2026 carries the assignment code line for MHD-16 rather than MHD-07 — a carry-over from the template. The course code on the cover of that same file is correct. If your paper shows a mismatch of this kind, go by the course code on the cover and raise it with your Regional Centre.
4. Two-digit and three-digit codes both appear on IGNOU’s index. The official MHD assignment index lists MHD-014, MHD-015 and MHD-016 with three digits alongside MHD-13, MHD-19 and MHD-20 with two. Search the portal both ways before concluding a paper is missing.
5. MHD-08 circulates but is not in the current structure. Some third-party code lists run MHD-01 to MHD-20 continuously and include MHD-08. It does not appear in the July 2026 prospectus table for Master of Arts (Hindi), nor on IGNOU’s current MHD assignment index.
6. A conflict on this website. The page at ignouproject.com covering MMPC-001 states that a physical copy is dispatched within seven working days of payment. No page should promise a delivery figure, because transit time depends on the pin code, and that line is being corrected. This page promises no number, and neither should any quotation you are given before your address is known.

MAHD is a Hindi-medium programme and its papers are issued in Hindi, so the handwritten answers are written in Hindi. Blue or black ink, clearly legible letterforms, one side of the A4 sheet, a left margin for the evaluator’s comments, and each answer numbered to match the question paper.

A MAHD file often has mixed origins. A learner writes MHD-05 by hand in a week they had free, runs out of time on MHD-03 and MHD-06, orders a handwritten assignment for those two, and submits all three together at the same counter. A visibly different hand across papers in one bundle invites a question nobody wants to answer at a submission desk.
The fix is simple. Photograph a page you have already written — a rough draft is fine, it does not have to be an assignment — and send that handwriting sample on WhatsApp with your order. Go to the IGNOU student services assignment download page. IGNOU’s own instruction on that page is to search by programme code or course code and to check the validity of the assignment before downloading it.

Search MHD, not MAHD, when looking for the paper.
The programme is listed as MAHD in the Common Prospectus, but the assignment files are filed under MHD, and IGNOU’s index page for them is headed Master’s Degree in Hindi (MHD). Searching MAHD alone can return nothing.

Confirm the session span printed on the front of the booklet.
MHD booklets cover two sessions at once and print the span on the cover, for example July 2025 and January 2026. The assignment code inside follows the same span, in the form MHD-16/TMA/2025-2026. A single-year code such as MHD-16/TMA/2026 is not the MHD format and suggests you are looking at the wrong file.

MHD assignment question papers are set out of 100 marks with every question compulsory, and the split differs by course. The MHD-07 paper for 2025-2026 runs four questions of 15 marks at 1000 words, two of 10 marks at 500 words and four of 5 marks at 250 words. The MHD-16 paper for the same span runs four questions of 15 marks and four short notes of 10 marks each.

After You Submit: Tracking Your MAHD Assignment Status And Marks
Handing the handwritten bundle in is not the end of it. Assignment submission is recorded by the study centre, the paper travels to an evaluator, the score is uploaded, and only then does it appear against your enrolment number. The gap between counter and screen is routinely several weeks, and MAHD learners frequently report a module elective updating later than the compulsory papers.
Get a receipt at the counter and keep it. Sign the attendance register if the centre keeps one. If a paper is still blank on the portal well after the others have updated, the receipt is the document that settles the argument. Your enrolment number is the key to every one of those lookups, and it is also the first field on the assignment cover sheet. What MAHD Learners Usually Order Alongside The Written Set
A handwritten assignment solves one problem in one week. The rest of a MAHD year needs different material, and most of it on this site is free to read. Learners who order a handwritten set for two papers routinely read the free material for the other six.

The cover sheet is the one thing every learner needs and many get wrong. Templates are on the assignment cover page and the front page format PDF. Medium. The service covers all mediums IGNOU issues the TMA paper in, at the same price, so any medium in which IGNOU publishes your paper can be written by hand. For MAHD that scopes to one: the Common Prospectus records the medium of instruction for Master of Arts (Hindi) as Hindi, and the MHD booklets published by IGNOU are printed in Hindi throughout. So a MAHD handwritten set is written in Hindi, in Devanagari script, and there is no English-medium MHD paper to write against. Learners in other programmes who need an English or Hindi option should say which when they message.
Session. Any session is accepted, current cycle or older, including backlog courses, at the same ₹320 per subject. Tutor Marked Assignment papers expire: a booklet coded MHD-16/TMA/2025-2026 is valid for that span only, and answers written against a superseded paper score nothing however good they are. Send the session span printed on the cover of your booklet along with the code, and if you are clearing a backlog from an earlier year, send that year rather than the current one.

MAHD Handwritten Assignment: The Questions Learners Actually Ask
July session learners submit by 31 March and January session learners by 30 September. Both dates are printed on page two of the MHD booklets published by IGNOU for July 2025 and January 2026. These are School of Humanities dates and are five months earlier than the 31 October and 30 April dates that circulate for management programmes. IGNOU has extended assignment windows before, so confirm the current date on ignou.ac.in before relying on it.
At the study centre allotted to you when you took admission, addressed to the centre coordinator, and always against a receipt. Some Regional Centres accept a scanned upload instead, one clean PDF per course. Ask your own centre which of the two applies before you write, because the two routes need different preparation.
Five. The MAHD first year is five compulsory 8-credit courses, MHD-02 to MHD-06, and each carries one Tutor Marked Assignment out of 100 marks. That is 40 of the programme’s 80 credits. The second year adds two compulsory 4-credit papers, MHD-01 and MHD-07, plus eight elective courses drawn from two chosen modules.
Subject wise. You choose two of the four modules, and then write one separate assignment for each of the four courses inside each chosen module. The cover of that file correctly says MHD-07.
They are the same degree seen three ways. MAHD is the programme code IGNOU prints for Master of Arts (Hindi) in the Common Prospectus. MHD is the course-code prefix on every assignment paper and on IGNOU’s assignment index, which is headed Master’s Degree in Hindi. MHDOL is the same degree offered in online mode. When searching the assignment portal, search MHD, because that is how the files are filed.
