The tentative December 2026 date sheet puts one paper from every MAHD elective module on 18, 19, 21 and 22 December, all in the morning. Below are the dates, the MHD paper formats read off IGNOU’s own papers, and Hindi-medium revision sets code by code.

Quick answer. An IGNOU MAHD guess paper is a revision set of important and recurring questions, with model answers in Hindi, for one MHD course code, and ignouproject.com prepares it for the December 2026 term-end examination, which IGNOU’s tentative date sheet of 14 September 2026 runs from MHD-1 on 7 December 2026 to MHD-12 on 12 January 2027, every paper in the 10 AM slot. The 4-credit MHD papers, such as June 2025 MHD-11, run 2 hours for 50 marks and open with a compulsory passage-explanation question, and the four elective modules share exam slots on 18, 19, 21 and 22 December. The rate is ₹49 per subject code as a PDF or ₹100 per subject code as a printed copy, plus a one-time ₹100 courier charge on a printed order, and every set is in Hindi, the only medium IGNOU examines MAHD in. MAHD December 2026 Exam Dates: First Paper, Last Paper and Slot
The MAHD papers run from Monday 7 December 2026 to Tuesday 12 January 2027. That span comes from IGNOU’s tentative date sheet for the December 2026 term-end examination, dated 14 September 2026, which places every MHD code in the morning column, 10 AM to 1 PM.

The whole cycle runs from 25 November 2026 to 13 January 2027, so MAHD starts twelve days after the first IGNOU papers and finishes the day before the last. The sheet asked learners to report discrepancies to datesheet@ignou.ac.in by 20 September 2026; that window has closed, and a revised or final sheet can still move dates. The Module Clash on the Tentative Sheet
Every Year 2 learner who chose two elective modules has at least two dates on which two of their own papers share one slot. The sheet sets MHD-13, MHD-17 and MHD-21 together on 18 December; MHD-10, MHD-14, MHD-18 and MHD-22 on 19 December; MHD-11, MHD-15, MHD-19 and MHD-23 on 21 December; and MHD-16, MHD-20 and MHD-24 on 22 December.
The clash rules printed on the sheet exclude courses from one group, backlog courses from different years, and courses from different programmes. Two electives of one MAHD year fit none of those cases. Only IGNOU can resolve it, so a learner in this position should write to the Regional Centre now, keep a copy, and check ignou.ac.in for a revised sheet.

Year 1 has its own pressure point: MHD-2, MHD-5 and MHD-3 fall on 4, 5 and 6 January, three mornings in a row. A learner carrying Year 1 backlog alongside Module 1 sits papers every day from 4 to 9 January. The exam centre allotment and the exam form fee are worth settling before that week.
Why the MHD Term-End Paper Carries Most of the Course Weight
The term-end paper is the only part of an MHD course written under examination conditions, and it is where the passage explanations and the long critical answers are marked. The June 2025 MHD-11 paper prints no weightage line, and section 3.9 of the July 2026 Common Prospectus sets out no split for MAHD, so this guide does not put a figure on it; the MHD assignment booklet and the Student Handbook state the rule for your batch.
What the papers do show is where marks concentrate. In the four MHD papers from June 2024 and June 2025 reviewed by ignouproject.com, the opening block alone carried 20 of 50 marks in MHD-11 and 36 marks in MHD-2 and MHD-4. MHD Guess Paper, IGNOU’s Own Past Paper or a Solved Copy: Which to Use
A guess paper is a revision set of important and recurring questions for one course code, such as MHD-11, with model answers, prepared by a publisher from past IGNOU papers and the syllabus; the terms important questions, expected questions and model paper describe the same kind of product. A previous year question paper is the actual paper IGNOU set in an earlier term-end examination, such as the June 2025 MHD-11 paper, and it is free on IGNOU’s website. A solved question paper is that actual paper with a publisher’s model answers.
For MAHD the three do different jobs. IGNOU’s papers show the real Hindi wording and the passage format; a guess set gives worked answers for the question types that keep appearing; the blocks carry the texts themselves. What each MHD set is built around
Built per code. One set per MHD code, so a Module 3 learner does not pay for Module 1 material.
Passage practice. Worked संदर्भ सहित व्याख्या answers in the order IGNOU asks for them: context, explanation, craft.
Timed to the paper. Answers sized for a 2-hour, 50-mark paper on 4-credit codes and the longer 8-credit papers.
Written in Hindi. MAHD is examined in Hindi only, so every set is in Hindi.

MAHD carries 80 credits across 23 MHD codes. Section 3.9 of the July 2026 Common Prospectus lists five 8-credit compulsory courses in Year 1 (40 credits), and in Year 2 two 4-credit compulsory courses plus any two of four elective modules of four 4-credit courses each (8 plus 32 credits). The programme is run by the School of Humanities, in Hindi, over two to four years.

Paper Format by Code
The June 2025 MHD-11 paper is 2 hours and 50 marks: Q1 is compulsory and asks for two of four passages explained with reference to context, 2×10; the learner then answers any three of Q2 to Q7, where five questions carry 10 marks each and Q7 asks for two short notes of 5 marks. The 8-credit Year 1 papers are longer and open with a 36-mark block, 12×3 on the June 2024 MHD-2 paper.

Warning: Online-Programme Papers Carry the Same Code
IGNOU’s archive holds papers for MHDOL, the online MA Hindi, under the same MHD numbers. The June 2023 MHDOL MHD-07 paper runs 3 hours for 100 marks in three sections: five of seven short answers at 4 marks, five of seven at 10 marks, and two of three at 15 marks. ODL MHD-7 is a 4-credit course, so that paper is the wrong model for an ODL learner. Check the programme printed under the code before practising from any MHD paper.
Where Sources Disagree, Including Our Own Pages
Programme code. The July 2026 Common Prospectus calls the programme MAHD; the July 2025 prospectus and the December 2026 date sheet print MHD. Course codes are unchanged.
MHD-1 title. The same July 2026 prospectus titles MHD-1 हिंदी काव्य-1 in the MAHD section and हिंदी काव्य (आदिकाव्य, भक्ति एवं रीतिकाव्य) in the MAHV section, which shares MHD-1, MHD-2, MHD-3, MHD-4 and MHD-6.
Code padding. IGNOU’s June 2025 archive files MHD-01, MHD-02, MHD-03 and MHD-06 with a zero but MHD-4, MHD-5 and MHD-7 without one; search both forms.
Outdated listings. Some listings online still sell an MHD paper on comparative literature or an MHD-8 set; neither appears in the July 2026 structure. Within this publisher’s own estate, the guess paper hub still promises a marks figure and the store’s MA Hindi category describes guess papers as solved past papers; both are being corrected, and the definitions and tables here govern.
What the MHD Papers of 2024 and 2025 Actually Asked
Every one of the four MHD papers from June 2024 and June 2025 reviewed by ignouproject.com opened with a fixed block split into equal parts: 2×10 in MHD-11 in both years, 12×3 in MHD-2 and 3 × 12 in MHD-4. That is 4 of 4 papers, and in the one paper whose Hindi text is legible in IGNOU’s archive, the June 2025 MHD-11 paper, the block is a compulsory passage explanation.

MHD-11 kept its shape between the June 2024 MHD-11 paper and June 2025: the same five pages, the same 20-mark opening block and the same 2×5 short-note close. No pattern change was found for MHD-11 across those two sessions. The June 2024 MHD-4 paper adds a closing 2×8 block that the MHD-11 papers do not have.

In June 2025, MHD-11 built its five 10-mark questions around named stories, each asked from one angle. Each appears once in the papers reviewed, so none is called important on that basis.

The four short-note options were बिरादरी (भाषाशैली), ड्राइंग रूम (जीवनदर्शन), स्विमिंग पूल (कथ्य) and डिप्टी कलक्टरी (मध्यवर्गीय विवशता). The pattern to rehearse is the angle, not the story: मूल संवेदना, चरित्र-चित्रण, समस्या and दृष्टि questions can be asked of any prescribed story.
How the Counts Were Made
The counts come from four IGNOU MHD papers: MHD-11 for June 2024 and June 2025, and MHD-2 and MHD-4 for June 2024, each reviewed in full by ignouproject.com on 21 September 2026. Older archive copies are set in a legacy Hindi font whose text does not extract cleanly, so for three papers the counts rest on the printed marks lines, and theme matching across sessions is not attempted; matching a feature is a human judgement, and N is stated with every figure. The paper tables above cover MHD-11, MHD-2 and MHD-4. For other codes, the format is confirmed against the latest IGNOU paper on WhatsApp. No figure here is a probability.
How an MHD Revision Set Is Put Together
- Match the code to the July 2026 structure. The set is built for the MHD code on your exam form, checked against section 3.9 of the Common Prospectus.
- Start from IGNOU’s latest paper. The most recent IGNOU paper for the code fixes the time, marks and the size of the passage block.
- Choose passages from the prescribed texts. Practice passages are drawn from the block readings, because the opening explanation question draws on them.
- Write model answers in Hindi to length. A 10-mark answer is sized for about 22 minutes of writing, and passage answers follow the context, explanation, craft order.
- Check medium and session on WhatsApp. Before payment, the code, the medium and the December 2026 target are confirmed with you.

What an MHD Guess Paper Can Do, and What It Cannot
A guess paper is a revision aid built from past IGNOU question papers and the syllabus. No one outside IGNOU knows the questions in advance, and no claim is made that any question in this set will appear in your examination.
What It Helps With
For MAHD, a set helps most with the passage block: choosing which passages to attempt, writing the context in two lines, and keeping each explanation near 22 minutes. It also gives shape to 10-mark critical answers on a story or novel, and to the short notes that close the 4-credit papers.
What It Cannot Do
It cannot predict the December 2026 MHD questions, it cannot replace the prescribed texts in the blocks, and it cannot prepare a learner for a format IGNOU has not yet used. It also cannot fix a date clash; only IGNOU can.

IGNOU publishes MHD papers session by session. The June 2025 question paper index on ignou.ac.in lists every MHD code for that session, one Hindi file each, and older sessions sit on the webservices archive by school (SOH) and programme (MHD).
- Open the session index on ignou.ac.in under Student Services, Downloads, Question Papers, and pick the session.
- Search both code forms, MHD-4 and MHD-04, because the archive mixes them.
- Check the header for the programme name: ODL papers say MHD, online papers say MHDOL.
- Read the session line printed under the title before filing the paper.

Hall Ticket Before the Exam, Grade Card and Revaluation After
The July 2026 Common Prospectus says hall tickets are uploaded on the IGNOU website 7 to 10 days before the term-end examination begins, so MAHD learners should look in late November for the 7 December start; the IGNOU hall ticket page tracks the release. After the exam, results come through the term-end result checker, the most recently declared cycle is on the June 2026 result page, and assignment marks show on the assignment result and grade card page. Learners unhappy with a mark can read the revaluation process, and those finishing the degree can follow the final grade card guide and the CGPA calculator.
Other Support MAHD Learners Order
Assignments close before the term-end examination, so many MAHD learners pair a guess set with the solved assignment collection or a hand-written copy from the MAHD assignment page linked above. MAHD has no project course in the July 2026 structure, so no project support applies to it.
Hindi Medium Only: The MHD Medium and Session Note
MAHD is examined in Hindi only. The July 2026 Common Prospectus gives Hindi as the medium of MAHD, and IGNOU’s June 2025 archive has one Hindi file per MHD code and no English version.
Each set is prepared for the upcoming term-end examination, in every medium IGNOU examines that course in, and the medium for your course code is confirmed on WhatsApp before you pay. For MHD that confirmation is quick, because Hindi is the only answer; what is checked is the code, the year and the December 2026 target.

IGNOU documents. The July 2026 Common Prospectus (section 3.9 and the programme table), the tentative December 2026 date sheet dated 14 September 2026, the June 2025 question paper index, and the MHD-11, MHD-2 and MHD-4 papers of June 2024 and June 2025, with the June 2023 MHDOL MHD-07 paper for comparison. MAHD Guess Paper Questions Learners Ask
Yes. MAHD is examined in Hindi only: the July 2026 Common Prospectus names Hindi as its medium, and IGNOU’s June 2025 archive lists one Hindi file per MHD code. MHD sets are therefore prepared in Hindi, and the medium is confirmed on WhatsApp against your course code before you pay.
An MHD guess paper costs ₹49 per subject code as a PDF on WhatsApp, or ₹100 per subject code as a printed copy. A printed order adds a one-time ₹100 courier charge, whatever the number of codes. There is no minimum order, so a learner can buy one code or all of them.
The first MAHD paper is MHD-1 on Monday 7 December 2026, and the last is MHD-12 on Tuesday 12 January 2027, per IGNOU’s tentative date sheet dated 14 September 2026. Every MHD paper sits in the morning slot, 10 AM to 1 PM. Recheck the final sheet and your hall ticket.
The tentative December 2026 sheet places one paper from each MAHD elective module in the same 10 AM slot on 18, 19, 21 and 22 December. Any two modules therefore share a slot on two to four dates. Raise it with your Regional Centre and watch ignou.ac.in for a revised sheet.
The June 2025 MHD-11 paper runs 2 hours for 50 marks: Q1 is compulsory and asks for two of four passages explained with reference to context, 2×10, and then any three of six further questions. The 8-credit MHD-2 and MHD-4 papers of June 2024 open with a 36-mark passage block.
No one outside IGNOU knows the December 2026 MHD questions, and no claim is made that any question in a set will appear. An MHD guess paper is built from IGNOU’s past papers and the blocks, to rehearse the passage question and the 10-mark answers, not to forecast the paper.
Use both. IGNOU’s own MHD papers are free and show the real format; a guess paper adds model answers in Hindi for the recurring question types. For MHD, start with the latest IGNOU paper of your code, then use the set to practise passage explanations under a timer.

Yes. MAHD is the programme code in the July 2026 Common Prospectus; the July 2025 prospectus and the December 2026 date sheet still print MHD. The course codes, MHD-1 to MHD-24 without MHD-8, did not change, so a set is ordered by course code, not by programme name.
IGNOU’s archive also holds papers for MHDOL, the online MA Hindi. The June 2023 MHDOL MHD-07 paper runs 3 hours for 100 marks in three sections, while ODL MHD-7 is a 4-credit course. Check the programme name printed at the top before practising from any MHD paper.
For the MHD passage question, write the context first (author, work, situation), then the explanation, then two or three points on language and craft. In the June 2025 MHD-11 paper each passage carried 10 marks, so about 22 minutes per passage keeps the 2-hour paper on time.
Download the MHD blocks free from eGyanKosh and the latest IGNOU paper for each code, then revise the passages and prescribed texts first, because the opening passage block carried 20 or 36 marks in every MHD paper reviewed here. A guess set can then fill in answer structure.
On the tentative December 2026 sheet no two-module choice avoids a clash: Module 1 with any other module shares a slot on 19 and 21 December, and any two of Modules 2, 3 and 4 share a slot on four dates. Module choice is fixed at enrolment, so contact your Regional Centre.

Yes, for five codes. The July 2026 Common Prospectus lists MHD-1, MHD-2, MHD-3, MHD-4 and MHD-6 in MAHV as well as MAHD, and the December 2026 sheet gives each code a single date. An MHD set for those codes serves both programmes; the medium stays Hindi.
No. MHD-8 does not appear in the July 2026 MAHD structure, and IGNOU’s June 2025 archive has no MHD-8 paper. Year 2 runs MHD-1 and MHD-7 plus two elective modules numbered MHD-9 to MHD-24, so a set sold as MHD-8 does not match any current MAHD course.
