IGNOU BAM Guess Paper for December 2026: What the BHIC, BSOC, BPSC and BEVAE Papers Asked

BAM December 2026 Exam Dates: 25 November to 13 January

The BAM papers of the December 2026 term-end examination (TEE) start on Wednesday 25 November 2026 with BANC-133 and end on Wednesday 13 January 2027 with BEVAE-181, according to IGNOU’s tentative date sheet printed on 21 September 2026. That sheet replaced an earlier version, and IGNOU now accepts discrepancy reports at datesheet@ignou.ac.in until 25 September 2026. Tentative means the dates can still move, so the hall ticket is the final word.

Two things on this sheet catch BAM learners. Third-year codes such as BHDC-133, BHDC-134, BMTE-141 and BMTE-144 fall on 9, 11 and 12 January 2027, well after the “December” label. And BEVAE-181, which every BAM learner sits in the second semester, closes the whole cycle. The morning slot is 10 AM to 1 PM and the evening slot 2 PM to 5 PM; the two IGNOU exam slots explained covers reporting time. Why the Three-Hour BAM Paper Carries 70 Per Cent of Each Course

For a BAM course, the term-end paper is worth 70 per cent of the final result and the assignment 30 per cent, as the 2025-26 BHIC-131 assignment booklet for BAG and BAM learners states on its first page. The term-end examination carries 70 per cent of the final course result and assignments carry the remaining 30 per cent. The BHIC-131, BSOC-131 and BPSC-101 papers reviewed do not print a weightage line, so the booklet is the document to rely on.

A 6-credit BAM discipline course therefore turns on one sitting of 180 minutes. An assignment grade can steady a result; it cannot rescue a weak script. The IGNOU percentage calculator shows how the two parts combine. This guide does not state a pass mark, because the documents reviewed for BAM do not print one.

Guess Paper, Old IGNOU Paper or Solved Paper for a BAM Code

A guess paper is a revision set of important and recurring questions for one course code, such as BHIC-131, with model answers, prepared by a publisher from past IGNOU papers and the syllabus; the same kind of set is sold as “important questions”, “expected questions” or a “model paper”.

A previous year question paper is the actual paper IGNOU set in an earlier term-end examination, such as the December 2025 BSOC-131 paper, free on IGNOU’s own archive. A solved question paper takes that real IGNOU paper and adds a publisher’s model answers.

Start with IGNOU’s own papers, which cost nothing. Answered versions of many past papers are on the IGNOU solved question papers page. For BAM the format point matters: a solved December 2021 BSOC-131 paper trains you to pick two questions from each section, a rule IGNOU stopped using for BSOC-131 by June 2023.

BAM Course Codes, Discipline Groups and Paper Formats

BAM has 14 disciplines and each has four 6-credit codes, so 56 discipline codes exist, and a learner takes three disciplines, one from each of three different groups. The July 2026 Common Prospectus (section 4.1) sets out the groups and the 120-credit structure: 72 credits of discipline courses, 12 vocational, 8 ability enhancement, 6 interdisciplinary, 16 skill enhancement and 6 value-added, which adds up to 120. The 56 BAM Discipline Codes and Their December 2026 Dates

The semester column shows when a code is normally studied, which depends on whether the discipline is your first, second or third choice. Dates and slots come from IGNOU’s tentative December 2026 sheet; the slot is read from the column each code sits in on IGNOU’s PDF, so confirm it on your hall ticket.

Group 1: English, Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit. Group 2: Sociology, Education. Group 3: Political Science, Public Administration, Mathematics, Philosophy. Group 4: Economics, Anthropology. Group 5: History, Psychology.

Common BAM Codes Every Learner Meets

BDIG-171, Introduction to Migration and Diaspora, is listed in the prospectus but does not appear on the tentative December 2026 sheet. Anyone registered for it should raise that with IGNOU before 25 September 2026. Skill enhancement and vocational codes are on the same sheet and are not repeated here.

Four BAM Paper Formats Side by Side

The December 2025 BHIC-131 paper is 3 hours and 100 marks, with eight questions in two sections of four, of which a learner answers any five in about 400 words each, at least two from each section; questions 4 and 8 ask for short notes on any two of four topics at 10 marks each.

BEVAE-181, the Environmental Studies course every BAM learner takes, is an objective paper: the December 2025 BEVAE-181 paper prints 50 questions of one mark each in 2 hours, answered on an OMR sheet, and IGNOU’s December 2026 date sheet lists BEVAE181 among the MCQ and OMR pattern courses. No negative-marking line is printed on that paper.

A pre-exam checklist for any BAM discipline paper: check whether your code is sectioned; count how many short-note questions carry 10+10; budget about 34 minutes per 20-mark answer; keep 200 words for each note; and for BEVAE-181, carry a pen suited to OMR marking.

Papers Printed BAG or BAPSH: The BAM Naming Trap

No BAM paper reviewed here prints “BAM” on its cover. The BHIC-131 and BSOC-131 papers from June 2023 to December 2025 are headed B.A. (General), BAG; the BPSC-101 papers are headed B.A. (Honours) Political Science, BAPSH; and BEVAE-181 names BA, B.Com, B.Sc and BAVMSME. BAM shares these codes with those programmes, so the paper is the same paper. The same sharing explains why old BAG material circulates as “BAM” material, and why the Political Science, Public Administration and Economics codes in BAM carry honours-series numbers (BPSC-101, BPAC-101, BECC-101). Two more naming slips are common. BAM is Bachelor of Arts (Multidisciplinary), not a business or management degree, and not BAMS, the Ayurveda degree. And the codes BAM-001 to BAM-006 on the date sheet belong to the Diploma in Agricultural Cost Management, not to this BA.

What BHIC-131, BSOC-131, BPSC-101 and BEVAE-181 Actually Asked

Feminist political theory and conservatism each appeared in all four BPSC-101 papers from June 2023 to June 2025, and Alexander’s invasion appeared in all four BHIC-131 papers from June 2023 to December 2025. Those are the strongest repeats in the BAM papers reviewed; most other themes returned twice in four sessions.

Alexander is the one theme that has not missed a session, but the angle shifts: a plain description in June 2024, the long-term impact in June 2025 and December 2025. The Mauryan question alternates between “was it an empire” and “how was it administered”. Four sessions is a short run, so a two-of-four theme is a revision priority, not a forecast.

BSOC-131 Introduction to Sociology

BPSC-101 Understanding Political Theory

Feminism and conservatism often arrive as one half of a two-part short-note question, which on BPSC-101 carries no internal choice. A learner who skips a whole unit can lose the full 20 marks of that question even while knowing the other half.

BEVAE-181 Environmental Studies

The BEVAE-181 counts compare the opening four questions of each paper, where the papers reviewed open with the environment and sustainable-development topics. The counts above come from IGNOU’s own term-end papers, reviewed by ignouproject.com on 22 September 2026: BHIC-131 and BSOC-131 from June 2023 to December 2025, BPSC-101 from June 2023 to June 2025, and questions 1 to 4 of BEVAE-181 from June 2022 to December 2025. A theme counts when a question asks about the same topic, whatever the wording, and that matching is a human judgement. The theme tables cover BHIC-131, BSOC-131, BPSC-101 and BEVAE-181; for other BAM codes, the format is confirmed against the latest IGNOU paper on WhatsApp. Nothing here is a probability: a theme seen twice has been seen twice.

How a BAM Revision Set Is Put Together

1. Match the code to its current paper. The latest IGNOU paper for the code fixes the attempt rule, the sections and the short-note format the set is written for.
2. Line up several sessions. Questions from recent papers are grouped by theme, which is how the counts above were built.
3. Check the themes against the blocks. Each theme is traced to the unit of the IGNOU course material that teaches it, so answers stay inside the syllabus.
4. Write answers at IGNOU’s length. About 400 words for a 20-mark question and 200 for a 10-mark note, with an opening, points and a close.
5. Confirm medium and code before payment. The set goes out only after the code and medium are agreed on WhatsApp.

Finding the Real BAM Papers and the Date Sheet on IGNOU’s Site

IGNOU’s past papers sit on two hosts, and BAM codes are rarely filed under “BAM”. Recent sessions use www.ignou.ac.in/viewFile/ldd/ with a session folder such as qpdec2025; older ones sit on webservices.ignou.ac.in under the BAG folder (CBCS/BAG-BCOMG-BSCG) for BHIC-131 and BSOC-131, and under SOSS/BDP for BPSC-101. BEVAE-181 is filed under SOH/BDP.

1. Search the course code with a hyphen, for example BSOC-131, and the session.
2. Open the PDF and check the session printed on page 1, since some folders carry no session in the path.
3. Expect English followed by Hindi in one file; the page count doubles.
4. For dates, open the current IGNOU tentative date sheet for December 2026 and search your code without the hyphen, for example BHIC131.

After the Exam: Hall Ticket, Result, Revaluation and Grade Card

The hall ticket appears on IGNOU’s site before the first paper; the IGNOU hall ticket guide shows the steps. After the cycle, results are declared course by course, and the latest term-end result page tracks the current release. Assignment marks show separately on the assignment status and grade card checker. A learner unhappy with a mark can apply through IGNOU revaluation, and the CGPA calculator reads the grade card. Alongside a BAM Revision Set

Assignments carry the other 30 per cent: typed answers are on the IGNOU solved assignments index, and handwritten copies for every discipline code are on the BAM handwritten assignment service. English or Hindi, and Which Session Your Set Is For

BAM is taught in English and Hindi, according to section 4.1 of the July 2026 Common Prospectus, and every BHIC-131, BSOC-131, BPSC-101 and BEVAE-181 paper reviewed prints the English paper followed by the Hindi version in the same file. For the Urdu and Sanskrit discipline codes, the medium of the set is confirmed on WhatsApp against IGNOU’s latest paper for the code. Each set is prepared for the upcoming term-end examination, in every medium IGNOU examines that course in, and the medium for your course code is confirmed on WhatsApp before you pay.

The December 2026 sets are written for the patterns of the June 2025 and December 2025 papers. When the June 2027 tentative sheet appears, this guide is revised.

The rate is ₹49 per subject code for a solved guess paper as a PDF, or ₹100 per subject code as a printed copy. Printed copies carry a one-time courier charge of ₹100 per order, whatever the number of subject codes; the PDF has no courier charge. So three BAM codes cost ₹147 as PDFs, or ₹300 printed plus ₹100 courier. There is no minimum order: one subject or ten, same rate per format.

3. Pay after confirmation.
