IGNOU MCA_New Handwritten Assignment: All 21 MCS and MCSL TMA Papers, the 80-Plus-20 Viva Split and Both Booklet Cut-Offs

Two Live Booklets Print Two Different April Dates

MCA_New is a semester programme, not a year programme, so the cut-off is printed on each semester’s own booklet rather than fixed for the school. That distinction is not academic. Two MCA_New booklets currently in circulation cover the January 2026 cycle, and they print different last dates for it.

The Semester II booklet, covering MCS-218 to MCSL-223 for the July 2025 and January 2026 pair, prints 31 October 2025 for its July cycle and 15 April 2026 for its January cycle. Both booklets are live on ignou.ac.in, both cover January 2026, and they are a fortnight apart. Nothing on this page can settle that for you: the date that binds a paper is the one printed in the contents table of the booklet that paper came from. Third-party assignment sites publish 31 March and 15 September for MCA_New, and others publish 31 May and 15 November; neither pair appears on either booklet read for this page.

None of these three dates is permanent. The university has moved MCA_New cut-offs mid-cycle before, and an individual Regional Centre can be working to a different one again. Treat the contents table of your own booklet as the source, check it against ignou.ac.in, and if you are reading this some months after it was written, use the estimator below instead of the figures above — it counts forward from today rather than repeating a date that has already gone.

Eighty Marks Are Written. Twenty Are Spoken.

Assignments carry 30 per cent of the final course result and the term-end examination carries the remaining 70 per cent. What makes MCA_New different from every other programme documented on this site is how those thirty marks are earned. The MCS-211 paper states that the assignment has four questions worth 80 marks and that the remaining 20 marks are for the viva voce examination. MCS-220 sets nine questions to the same 80. MCS-221 sets ten questions of 8 marks each. The written total is constant at 80; the number of questions is not.

The consequence is printed in the Important Notes of both booklets read for this page, and it is worth reading twice: the viva voce is compulsory, and for any course where a student has submitted the assignment but not attended the viva voce, the assignment is treated as not successfully completed and is marked as zero. A perfectly written handwritten set with no viva scores nothing at all. Ordering a written set is the first half of the job; turning up at the study centre for the oral is the second, and nobody can do that part for you.

There is a second gate on the laboratory side. The booklets state that eligibility for the Term End Practical Examination in the MCSL courses needs the minimum attendance requirement met as well as the assignment submitted on or before the due date. Lab attendance and lab assignments are two separate conditions, and the MCA_New programme guide puts practical attendance at 75 per cent. A learner who writes six beautiful MCSL sets and skips the counselling sessions is no closer to sitting the practical.

Those thirty marks are still the most predictable in the programme. The questions publish months ahead, the study blocks are open on the desk while you write, and no three-hour clock is running. The cost is hours of legible longhand across a semester of seven papers, which is what this page is about. Solved Assignment or Handwritten Set: What Gets Submitted

These two words are used interchangeably across the whole IGNOU web and they are not the same product. A solved assignment is a soft-copy reference file of model answers for one course code and one session, read on a phone or a laptop and used to understand how an answer should be built. A handwritten assignment is those answers written out by hand on A4 sheets and handed in as a hard copy at the study centre. One is study material. The other is the submission.

The MCA_New booklets settle which of the two reaches IGNOU. The instruction printed above the contents table is to submit your assignments to the Coordinator of your Study Centre on or before the due date, and the marks and viva schedule follow from that physical submission. A downloaded PDF is not a submission and cannot become one by being printed — typed and printed answer sheets are the format study centres routinely refuse.

• Semester-set booklets, read whole. IGNOU publishes MCA_New assignments as one file per semester, not one per course, so MCS-211 and MCSL-217 arrive in the same PDF with one contents table. Your paper is read from that file, not from a search result.
• The written eighty, formatted. Four questions or ten, the written portion totals 80 marks. Each answer carries its question number, and the marks printed beside the question set the length rather than a page count.
• Lab papers written too. MCSL-216, MCSL-217, MCSL-222, MCSL-223, MCSL-228 and MCSL-229 all carry their own TMA and their own assignment number with the L- prefix. They are ordered at the same ₹320 as a theory paper.
• Algorithms and code written out. Where a paper asks for a Kruskal trace, a Huffman tree or a normalised schema, the working is written and drawn by hand into the answer rather than summarised in a sentence.
• Bridge-course papers included. MCS-201 and MCS-208 sit outside the 80-credit table but Category-2 entrants still submit them. Both are written at the same rate as any other paper.
• The assignment number copied exactly. Your cover sheet gets the string your booklet prints, Roman semester numeral and all, not the one last cycle used.
• Credits do not move the price. A four-credit MCS paper and a two-credit MCSL paper are both ₹320. There is no minimum order: one subject or fourteen, same rate.
• Course-wise binding. Each course is tied or stapled on its own, as IGNOU asks. Papers from one semester are never merged into a single bundle.
• Courier inside the price. The rate is ₹320 per subject, hard copy only, with courier included in that price and no separate shipping charge.
• Your hand, on file. Send a photo of a page you have written yourself and the handwritten set is matched to your handwriting at no extra charge, for this order and later ones.
• Backlogs from any cycle. Any session is accepted, current cycle or older, including backlog courses, at the same ₹320 per subject — which matters in a programme where a paper failed in Semester II is cleared two years later.
• The viva stays yours. Nothing here touches the twenty viva marks. The written eighty is prepared; you attend the oral, and IGNOU records the result.

Every MCS, MCSL and MCSP Code Across Four Semesters

The Common Prospectus for July 2026 describes MCA_New as a two-year programme of 22 courses and 80 credits, delivered as four semesters of 20 credits each, with 15 theory courses, 6 practical courses and one project. Each of the four semester blocks below sums to 20 credits and the four together sum to the stated 80. Medium of instruction is English. One paper means one TMA, so the size of an order is simply the count of MCS, MCSL and bridge codes standing against your enrolment number this cycle.

MCSP-232 carries twelve of the twenty credits and runs through a synopsis and a report rather than a TMA; it is priced separately from the ₹320 assignment rate on the pricing and procedures page, and the code sits alongside every other programme’s project code on the project course code list.

That gives 21 courses carrying a Tutor Marked Assignment out of the 22 in the structure. Two further codes sit outside the table entirely.

The prospectus is explicit about who takes them. Category 1 is a pass in BCA or a bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering or equivalent. Category 2 is a pass in B.Sc., B.Com. or B.A. with mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level, and students enrolling under Category 2 are required to study two additional courses, MCS-201 and MCS-208, in the first semester and to pay an additional amount. Two learners sitting in the same MCA_New first semester therefore hold different code sets: seven papers on one record, nine on the other. Learners without mathematics at either level are not eligible for the ODL or online MCA_New programme at all. Question papers for the bridge courses come from the BCA side of the school, so the BCA question paper archive is the useful companion for them.

Codes above were read against the Common Prospectus reference page maintained on this site. Order against the codes on your own admission record rather than a list copied from a blog, or you will receive a written set for a course you are not registered in.

How an MCS Paper Becomes a Handwritten Set

Five stages, and only the first two need anything from you.

1. Your codes, semester and session are confirmed against the bookletMCA_New booklets are published per semester, so the file is identified from the semester before the code is looked up inside it. If you send a code that belongs to a different semester’s file, or a bridge-course code, you hear that before you pay rather than after the courier has gone.
2. One photograph of a page in your own handA page of notes is enough and it need not be assignment writing. The sample is used to match letterforms, slant and spacing. There is no extra charge for this and no minimum number of subjects attached to it.
3. The written eighty is drafted to the marks printed beside each questionA 2-mark part and an 8-mark part are not the same length, and the paper says which is which. Where the question asks for a trace, a tree, an ER diagram or a schema, it is drawn rather than described. Where it asks for code or an algorithm, the steps are written out in full.
4. The copy is written on A4 in blue or black inkRed and green are left alone because evaluators use them. Key terms are underlined once, a left margin of about four centimetres is kept clear for the evaluator, a line is left between answers, and every page is numbered. The cover page is filled with your enrolment number, programme code, course code, assignment number and study centre, with the declaration and signature line left for you.
5. Course-wise binding, then courierEach course is tied or stapled on its own, never merged. The rate is ₹320 per subject, hard copy only, with courier included in that price and no separate shipping charge. Delivery depends on your pin code and is confirmed for your order before you pay. No figure is promised on this page.

Nothing in that sequence is a claim about the marks you will receive. Evaluation is done by an IGNOU evaluator against their own criteria, and the twenty viva marks are decided in a room this service is not in.

Send One Page in Your Own Hand

Send a photo of a page you have written yourself and the handwritten set is matched to your handwriting at no extra charge. In MCA_New this matters for a reason specific to the programme: the viva voce puts you in front of a counsellor holding the pages you submitted, and being asked to explain a Huffman tree you are seeing for the first time in handwriting that is visibly not yours is a bad start to twenty marks you cannot afford to lose. Match the hand, read the set before the viva, and the oral becomes what it is meant to be.

One sample covers every paper you order, now or later. It stays on file against your enrolment number, so a Semester III set ordered a year after your Semester I set comes back in the same hand. There is no minimum order: one subject or fourteen, same rate.

Downloading the Right MCS Booklet Yourself

The questions are free and they come from IGNOU, not from any publisher. This service writes answers to them; it does not sell the question papers.

1. Start at the university’s own download pageThe official IGNOU assignment download page indexes master’s programmes by programme code. No direct file path is reproduced here, because those paths change between cycles and a dead link is worse than no link.
2. Ask for the semester, not the courseMCA_New files are semester sets. One PDF covers MCS-211, MCS-212, MCS-213, MCS-214, MCS-215, MCSL-216 and MCSL-217 together. Searching for a single course code can return nothing when the paper is sitting inside a file named for another code in the same semester.
3. Read the cover page before you trust the file nameThe cover states the programme, the semester and the session pair — for example January 2026 and July 2026 sessions. If the cover names a session pair you are not in, that is the thing to sort out first, whatever the link said.
4. Copy the assignment number and the last date off the contents tableThe contents table carries both, per course. That string goes on your cover sheet character for character, and that date is the one that binds your paper.

Using last session’s paper is the single most common reason a written set is refused at the counter.

Once the Study Centre Has Your Papers

Submission and evaluation are two events with weeks between them, and MCA_New adds a third that most programmes do not have. Hand the set to the coordinator of your study centre, take the acknowledgement receipt before you leave, and keep a photocopy of every page. Then find out when the viva voce for those courses is scheduled, because the twenty marks attached to it are forfeited by absence rather than by a wrong answer.

1. Keep the receipt and check after four to six weeksMarks travel from the centre to the Student Evaluation Division before they reach your record, so a paper can be submitted, evaluated and still invisible online. Status appears first on the intermediate portal covered by the assignment marks status page.
2. Then check the grade card entryThe assignment entry on the grade card and the grade card status walkthrough cover what each line means, the letter and mark bands are set out under IGNOU grading, and the final grade card guide covers the consolidated view across all 80 credits.
3. Read a not-completed line carefullyIn MCA_New that line often means one component is pending rather than failed — the viva, the practical, or the project. Your enrolment number must also match on every cover sheet in the stack, and the enrolment number guide shows where to read it off.
4. Escalate with the receipt, not without itIf a paper stays missing well past the usual window, the grievance route is set out on the iGRAM complaint guide, and if a result itself looks wrong the revaluation process is separate again.

Converting the eventual figures is handled by the percentage calculator and the CGPA calculator. Assignment weightage is 30 per cent of each course, so these marks stay on the grade card permanently.

The Other Seventy Per Cent and the MCSP Project

A written set closes the 30 per cent. The other 70 sits in the June or December examination hall, and most learners ordering a set are working on both at once. Fourth-semester learners have a second front entirely. MCSP-232 carries twelve credits, which at IGNOU’s planning figure of roughly thirty hours per credit is built for around 360 hours of work, and it needs an approved proposal before anything else begins. Five Details That Price an Order

Medium, Session and Bridge Course Papers

The service covers all mediums IGNOU issues the TMA paper in, at the same price. For MCA_New that scope is worth stating precisely rather than generically: the July 2026 Common Prospectus gives the medium of instruction for this programme as English, and the booklets read for this page are English-medium files. Where other programmes issue a parallel Hindi paper — the differences are set out on the Hindi medium assignment page — MCA_New does not, so a request for a Hindi MCS paper is one this page will tell you does not exist rather than quietly accept.

Any session is accepted, current cycle or older, including backlog courses, at the same ₹320 per subject. MCA_New produces more backlog orders than most programmes for a structural reason: a paper can be complete on the written side and still read as not completed because the viva was missed, and the fix is a fresh submission in a later cycle against whatever booklet is then current. Send the cycle along with the code and the correct semester file is the one used.

Everything above traces back to one of three sources. Mixing them would be the quickest way to make a commercial term read like a university rule, so they are labelled separately below.
