A young programme, a short archive: MSCHSC revision sets read against 13 IGNOU papers

IGNOU has posted MHC papers only since June 2025. Not one Year II MHC paper is up yet, while the borrowed MDC-003, MDC-005 and MGS-001 papers go back to 2022, and that is where most of the repeat evidence for MSCHSC learners sits.

  • 15 theory codes, 80 credits
  • Any five of eight, 20 marks each
  • 13 of 15 papers in the evening slot

Quick answer. An IGNOU MSCHSC guess paper is a publisher’s revision set of recurring questions with model answers for one course code of the M.Sc. (Home Science: Community Development and Extension Management), such as MHC-002 or MDC-005. IGNOU’s tentative date sheet dated 5 October 2026 runs the December 2026 term-end examination from 25 November 2026 to 14 January 2027, and the 15 MSCHSC theory papers fall between 25 November (MEDS-051) and 24 December (MDC-005), 13 of them in the 2 PM to 5 PM slot per the sheet. Every IGNOU paper reviewed for these codes, from MDC-003, MDC-005 and MGS-001 (December 2022 to June 2024) to MHC-002 (December 2025), asks for any five of eight questions at 20 marks each in 3 hours. The rate is ₹49 PDF or ₹100 printed per subject code, with a one-time ₹100 courier charge on a printed order; sets are in English, and in Hindi too for MGS-001 and MRD-202, whose IGNOU papers print both languages. No one outside IGNOU knows the questions in advance.

When the December 2026 MSCHSC Papers Fall, Year by Year

The first MSCHSC paper is MEDS-051 on Wednesday 25 November 2026 and the last is MDC-005 on Thursday 24 December 2026, per IGNOU’s tentative December 2026 date sheet dated 5 October 2026.

First MSCHSC paper

MEDS-051, Wed 25 Nov 2026, 2 PM to 5 PM. Year II elective; Year I starts with an elective on 2 or 3 December.

Last MSCHSC paper

MDC-005, Thu 24 Dec 2026, 10 AM to 1 PM. Year II ends earlier, with MDV-110 on 17 December.

Tentative · dated 5 October 2026

The 5 October sheet replaced the 21 September 2026 tentative sheet, which ended the cycle on 13 January 2027 and asked for discrepancies by 25 September. The overall window now closes on 14 January 2027, but not one MSCHSC date moved between the two versions. A final sheet usually follows a tentative one, so the hall ticket remains the document to trust on the day.

The sheet lists codes without hyphens and drops the morning and evening column headings in its text. The slot below is read from where each code sits within its date: the first block is the morning column (10 AM to 1 PM) and the second is the evening column (2 PM to 5 PM). IGNOU’s two exam timings are the same for every programme.

Scroll the table sideways on a phone. Dates and slots are copied from IGNOU’s sheet; confirm them on your hall ticket.

Read the two code columns separately and a pattern shows. A learner sitting only Year I gets at least one free day between compulsory papers: 8, 10, 12, 15, 17 and 24 December. A learner sitting only Year II also alternates: 4, 7, 9, 11, 14 and 17 December. IGNOU has slotted the two years into each other’s rest days.

17 December: MHC-004 and MDV-110 in One Evening

MHC-004 (Year I) and MDV-110 (Year II) sit in the same evening block on Thursday 17 December 2026. The pairing is not new: the June 2026 date sheet dated 12 May 2026 also placed both codes on one day, 23 June 2026. A learner who is in Year II and still carries MHC-004 cannot sit both papers in one 3-hour slot.

  1. Carrying a Year I code into Year II? Then 7 to 12 December becomes six papers on six consecutive days (MHC-006, MHC-001, MHC-007, MHC-002, MHC-008, MHC-003), with 14 and 15 December back to back after it.
  2. Holding MHC-004 and MDV-110 together? Write to your Regional Centre before the final sheet is out and ask how the clash is handled for your enrolment.
  3. Choose one elective per year. Ticking both MGS-001 and MRD-202, or both MEDS-051 and MHC-009, in the planner below usually means a registration question, not two papers.
  4. Before any of this, the exam form: the term-end exam fee page covers the form and the fee for each paper.

What Decides an MSCHSC Course Grade, and the Percentage IGNOU Prints on Only Some Papers

Each MSCHSC theory course ends in a 3-hour, 100-mark term-end paper, and in every paper reviewed the learner writes five 20-mark answers, so each answer is a fifth of the paper. Where IGNOU prints a weightage on these papers, the term-end examination (TEE) carries 70 per cent, but IGNOU’s MSCHSC documents do not print one figure for every course.

The MDC-003 and MDC-005 papers, which MSCHSC learners share with the Post Graduate Diploma in Development Communication, print “Weightage : 70%” on 7 of the 8 papers reviewed (the December 2023 MDC-003 paper omits the line). The four MGS-001 papers print no weightage. The December 2025 MHC-002 paper prints none. The 2025-26 MHC-001 assignment booklet says only that assignment marks are carried to the grade card under section 8 of the Programme Guide. This page therefore does not state an assignment and TEE split for MSCHSC as a whole; the Programme Guide’s evaluation section is the place to read it.

One rule is printed plainly. The MHC-005 assignment booklet for 2025-26 warns that a learner who has not submitted the assignment is not permitted to appear for that course’s term-end examination. The assignment is a gate before it is a mark. Once both scores exist, the IGNOU percentage calculator converts them into a percentage.

An MSCHSC Revision Set, an IGNOU Past Paper or a Solved Copy: What Each One Gives You

A guess paper is a revision set of important and recurring questions for one course code, such as MHC-002 or MDC-005, with model answers, prepared by a publisher from IGNOU’s past papers and the course blocks; sellers also call it important questions, expected questions or a model paper. A previous year question paper is the actual paper IGNOU set in an earlier term-end examination, posted free on IGNOU’s own question-paper pages. A solved question paper is that actual IGNOU paper with a publisher’s model answers added.

For MSCHSC the choice is shaped by the archive. MDC-003, MDC-005 and MGS-001 have years of free IGNOU papers, so a learner with time can do much of the theme work alone. MHC-001 to MHC-004 have two IGNOU papers each at most, and MHC-005 to MHC-009 have none posted, so a set built from the blocks does more of the work there. Answers to whole past papers sit on the solved IGNOU question papers page, and other programmes’ sets are listed on the IGNOU guess paper hub.

Twelve ways an MSCHSC set is matched to this programme

Current codes only. Built on the 15 theory codes in the July 2026 Common Prospectus, Year I and Year II.

Five answers, 20 marks each. Model answers are sized for the any-five-of-eight paper IGNOU sets for these codes.

Short notes at the right length. 5-mark notes for MHC-002 and MGS-001; 10-mark notes for MDC-003 and MDC-005.

Borrowed-code awareness. MDC, MGS, MRD, MDV and MEDS papers arrive with another programme’s name on top; the set says so.

Plain about Year II. MHC-005 to MHC-009 sets are built from the blocks and the 2025-26 assignment, because no IGNOU paper is posted yet.

One elective, one set. MGS-001 or MRD-202 in Year I; MEDS-051 or MHC-009 in Year II.

Evening revision rhythm. 13 of the 15 papers are in the 2 PM to 5 PM slot per the sheet.

Clash flagged early. MHC-004 and MDV-110 share 17 December; backlog learners hear about it before ordering.

Real themes, worked through. E-governance for MDC-005 and women’s unpaid work for MGS-001, both seen in 4 of 4 papers.

Medium matched to IGNOU. English for every code; Hindi as well for MGS-001 and MRD-202.

Per code, no bundle. Order the three codes you sit, not a fixed semester pack.

PDF or printed. The same set, on WhatsApp as a PDF or as a printed copy sent by courier.

MSCHSC Codes, Credits and Where Each Paper Comes From

MSCHSC has 15 theory codes across two years and 80 credits, per the IGNOU Common Prospectus for July 2026: 40 credits in Year I and 40 in Year II, each year including one elective chosen from two and one project course that has no term-end paper. The School of Continuing Education runs the programme in English, and a learner who stops after Year I can exit with the Post Graduate Diploma in Community Development and Extension Management.

Seven Codes That Arrive With Another Programme’s Name

Only eight of the 15 theory codes carry the MHC prefix. MDC-003 and MDC-005 come from the Post Graduate Diploma in Development Communication, and the papers reviewed are headed with that diploma’s name, not MSCHSC. MGS-001 is printed under the M.A. in Gender and Development Studies, MRD-202 belongs to the M.A. in Rural Development, and MDV-110 and MEDS-051 are drawn from other schools. The practical effect is reassuring rather than confusing: a learner holding an MDC-003 paper headed “PGDDC” is in the right room. It also means these papers are set for a mixed hall of learners from several programmes, which explains why their questions say nothing about Home Science.

MRD-202 is shared with the MA in Rural Development, and its themes are counted on the MARD guess paper page, so they are not repeated here.

Contradictions and Misprints in IGNOU’s MSCHSC Files

Read these before trusting any MSCHSC list, including an older set.

  • Programme page and prospectus. IGNOU’s MSCHSC programme page lists all 16 courses under “Semester 1”, writes MGS-001 as “MGS-1”, leaves out the MRD-202 elective, and its credits add to 86 if both Year II electives are counted. The July 2026 prospectus splits the courses into Year I and Year II, offers one elective per year and totals 80 credits. This page follows the prospectus.
  • A prefix that does not match the title. MHC-009 carries the Home Science prefix but is titled “Rural Development: Issues and Concerns”, and it is the Year II alternative to MEDS-051.
  • Assignment count. The 2025-26 MHC-001 booklet describes seven Year I assignments and, a few lines later, “all the eight assignments”; the MHC-005 booklet counts six for Year II.
  • Misprints in the papers. The December 2025 MHC-002 paper asks about India’s major welfare “examples” in Q7(a), where schemes is plainly meant. The June 2023 MDC-003 paper prints “ratio programme formats” for radio, the June 2023 MDC-005 paper prints “Net neutralist issues”, and the December 2023 MGS-001 paper spells Mahila Samakhya as “Mahila Samkahya”.
  • Hindi labels in MGS-001. In the bilingual MGS-001 papers, the Hindi short-note options in Q8 are not lettered in the same order as the English (a) to (e). A Hindi-medium answer should name the topic, not only the letter.
  • An in-house slip. The MSCHSC guess paper category on the publisher’s shop, shrichakradhar.com, is titled “Home Sciene” and currently lists no MSCHSC sets; orders for this programme go through WhatsApp while that page is corrected.

Outdated-material warning for Year II. IGNOU first examined MHC-005 to MHC-009 in June 2026 (they appear on the 12 May 2026 June sheet), and IGNOU’s June 2026 question-paper page listed no papers when checked on 18 October 2026. Any set for these codes that claims to be built on years of past papers is describing papers that do not exist yet. The same holds for MHC-001 to MHC-004 before June 2025.

Which Themes IGNOU Set Twice or More Across 13 MSCHSC Papers

E-governance appeared in all four MDC-005 papers from December 2022 to June 2024, and women’s unpaid or invisible work appeared in all four MGS-001 papers of the same sessions. Those are the two strongest repeats found across 13 IGNOU papers: four each for MDC-003, MDC-005 and MGS-001, and the one MHC-002 paper from December 2025.

Pattern change in MDC-005, read on both sides. The December 2022 and June 2023 MDC-005 papers asked for any four of five short notes at 5 marks each in Q8. The December 2023 and June 2024 papers asked for any two of four at 10 marks each. The question count, the any-five rule and the 20 marks per question did not change; the length of each note did. A set still drilling 5-mark notes for MDC-005 is preparing for a question IGNOU stopped setting after June 2023.

IGNOU’s MDC-003 papers behind this table: MDC-003 December 2022, MDC-003 June 2023, MDC-003 December 2023, MDC-003 June 2024.

MDC-003 rewards practice more than reading. Three of the four papers asked for a television news script, twice for a 90-second package and once built on an incident, and the June 2024 paper asked for a 200-word opinion piece on a national issue. Writing one script and one opinion piece against the clock does more for this paper than a fourth reading of the radio block. The December 2023 paper was the odd one out: it dropped the script and the presenter question and leaned on online newsrooms instead.

MGS-001 is the elective with the steadiest shape: four papers, the same any-five rule, the same four-of-five short-note question. The phrasing of the unpaid-work question moved each time (why women do mostly unpaid work, why their work is left out of “productive labour”, visible against invisible work, gender segregation in unpaid labour), so a learner who has only one model answer by heart will meet a question that looks new.

MHC-002: One IGNOU Paper So Far

The December 2025 MHC-002 paper is the most recent IGNOU paper behind this page and the only MHC paper in the count. It asked for models of community organisation, the steps of community mobilisation, the roles of a community organiser, groups and group development, the principles of social policy, and public relations and fund raising in welfare services, with six short-note options (any four) ranging from the LGBTQIA+ community to the National Health Policy. Every one of those themes is “seen once”, which is all one paper can show. IGNOU’s June 2025 list and December 2025 list name papers for MHC-001 to MHC-004, while the December 2024 list carries MDC-003, MDC-005, MGS-001, MRD-202, MDV-110 and MEDS-051 but no MHC code at all.

The Counting Method, Stated Plainly

The counts above come from 13 IGNOU term-end papers, each reviewed in full by ignouproject.com on 18 October 2026: MDC-003, MDC-005 and MGS-001 for December 2022, June 2023, December 2023 and June 2024, and MHC-002 for December 2025. A theme is matched at topic level, which is a human judgement: “e-governance models” and “stages of e-governance in rural administration” count as one theme, while two different questions on the same block do not. A count reads “3 of 4” only when the theme appeared as a full question or a short-note option in three of the four papers named. The theme tables cover MHC-002, MDC-003, MDC-005 and MGS-001; for MHC-001, MHC-003, MHC-004 and the Year II codes, the format is confirmed against the latest IGNOU paper on WhatsApp. Counts describe what IGNOU set before. They do not say what it will set in December 2026.

Five Steps Between Your MSCHSC Code and a Ready Set

  1. Code and year checked against the prospectus. The code you send is matched to the July 2026 list, so an elective you are not registered for is caught before you pay.
  2. The latest IGNOU paper for that code is opened. For MDC and MGS codes that means the 2022 to 2024 run above plus anything newer IGNOU posts; for MHC-001 to MHC-004, the 2025 papers; for MHC-005 to MHC-009, the course blocks and the 2025-26 assignment, because no paper is posted.
  3. Recurring themes are ranked. A theme seen in three or four papers gets a full model answer; a theme seen once gets a shorter outline.
  4. Answers are cut to the paper’s length. About 33 minutes of writing per 20-mark answer, and notes of 5 or 10 marks depending on the code.
  5. The set goes out in the format you chose. A PDF on WhatsApp after payment, or a printed copy dispatched by courier the next day.

Honest Limits: What an MSCHSC Set Covers and What No Publisher Can

A guess paper is a revision aid built from past IGNOU question papers and the syllabus. No one outside IGNOU knows the questions in advance, and no claim is made that any question in this set will appear in your examination.

Useful for These MSCHSC Jobs

  • Ranking MDC-005 and MGS-001 themes by how often IGNOU set them, so the first revision hours go to e-governance or unpaid work rather than a theme seen once.
  • Writing five answers in 3 hours at the right length, including 10-mark notes for the MDC codes.
  • Giving Year II learners a structured outline where IGNOU has posted nothing to practise from.

Out of Reach Before 25 November

  • No set can predict the December 2026 paper or stand in for the MHC blocks on eGyankosh.
  • A Year II theme count needs Year II papers, and IGNOU has posted none yet.
  • The MHC-004 and MDV-110 clash is IGNOU’s to settle.

Revise it free first. Every MHC block is on eGyankosh, IGNOU’s study-material library, and the Gyankosh search guide shows how to find a block by code. Printed-book routes are on the IGNOU books download page, and short revision notes on the study notes page. IGNOU’s own papers for MDC-003, MDC-005 and MGS-001, linked in the tables above, are free and good timed practice.

Getting MSCHSC Papers and the Date Sheet Straight From IGNOU

IGNOU posts term-end papers session by session on its question-paper pages, and the newest MSCHSC entries are the December 2025 MHC-001 to MHC-004 papers. The pages list a code and a session; the download sits against each row.

  1. Open the session page for the paper you want (December 2025, June 2025 or December 2024 are linked in the evidence section above) and search the code with its hyphen, for example MHC-003.
  2. Check the session printed on page 1 of the PDF before you rely on it; older MDC and MGS files sit on IGNOU’s webservices archive under the PGDDC and MAGD folders, not under MSCHSC.
  3. For dates, open the current sheet from IGNOU’s notifications, then compare it with the site’s December 2026 date sheet summary and the general IGNOU date sheet guide.
  4. For papers of other codes and sessions, the IGNOU last year paper guide explains each archive route.

Hall Ticket Before, Grade Card and Re-evaluation After the MSCHSC Papers

IGNOU releases the December hall ticket a few days before the first paper; the IGNOU hall ticket page shows how to download it with an enrolment number, and the exam centre page covers centre changes. MEDS-051 learners need it earliest, by 25 November.

After the papers, the IGNOU term-end result page tracks the declaration, and the assignment marks and grade card page shows whether each MSCHSC assignment has been recorded. A learner unhappy with a mark can use the re-evaluation process. At the end of Year II, the final grade card guide and the CGPA calculator help check the programme total.

Other Help MSCHSC Learners Request Alongside a Set

Most MSCHSC orders that include a revision set also include the current year’s assignment, either as solved IGNOU assignments or written out by hand following the handwritten assignment guide. Learners who want a whole course in one book use IGNOU help books or the guide books listing. The field and research project courses are handled separately, on the MSCHSC project page. Every rate is listed on the services and charges page.

English-Medium Programme, Two Bilingual Papers: Medium and Session for MSCHSC Sets

MSCHSC is taught in English, per the July 2026 Common Prospectus, and the MHC, MDC, MDV and MEDS papers reviewed are printed in English only. Two electives differ. The MGS-001 papers print the English and Hindi questions in one paper, and IGNOU’s December 2025 list files the MRD-202 paper as an English and Hindi version. For those two codes a Hindi set can be prepared; for the rest, sets are in English.

Each set is prepared for the upcoming term-end examination, in every medium IGNOU examines that course in, and the medium for your course code is confirmed on WhatsApp before you pay.

Sets ordered now target the cycle running from 25 November 2026 to 14 January 2027. This page is refreshed when the June 2027 sheet is issued.

Placing an MSCHSC Order: Rates, Courier and Dispatch

The rate is ₹49 per subject code for a solved guess paper as a PDF, or ₹100 per subject code as a printed copy. Printed copies carry a one-time courier charge of ₹100 per order, whatever the number of subject codes; the PDF has no courier charge. The PDF is shared on WhatsApp once payment is confirmed. A printed copy is dispatched the next day after payment is confirmed, and the courier details are shared on WhatsApp. No arrival date is promised, because transit time depends on the courier and your location. There is no minimum order: one subject or ten, same rate per format.

  1. Send your codes and your year on WhatsApp to +91 93546 37830.
  2. The elective and the medium are confirmed against your list.
  3. Pay for the codes you need; three Year I codes as PDFs come to ₹147, and the same three printed come to ₹300 plus ₹100 courier.
  4. Receive the PDF on WhatsApp, or the courier details for the printed copy.

Documents Behind This MSCHSC Page and Who Reviewed It

IGNOU documents. The July 2026 Common Prospectus (course list, credits, medium), IGNOU’s MSCHSC programme page, the tentative December 2026 date sheets of 21 September and 5 October 2026, the June 2026 date sheet of 12 May 2026, IGNOU’s question-paper lists for December 2024, June 2025, December 2025 and June 2026, the 13 term-end papers linked in the evidence tables, and the 2025-26 assignment booklets for MHC-001 and MHC-005. The IGNOU prospectus guide explains where the prospectus sits.

The publisher’s own analysis. The theme tables, the topic matching, the slot reading of the date sheet and the minutes per answer are ignouproject.com’s work, done on 18 October 2026, and are judgements, not IGNOU rules.

The publisher’s commercial terms. Prices, formats, dispatch and medium are the publisher’s terms and are kept apart from both of the above.

Limits are stated where they apply: the December 2026 sheet is tentative; IGNOU’s 2025 MDC and MGS papers and its June 2026 papers were not among the posted files used for the counts; the MHC-002 themes rest on one paper; and the slot for each code is read from its position on the sheet.

Questions MSCHSC Learners Ask About Revision Sets

Important Notice

ignouproject.com is an independent IGNOU study-support publisher. It is not the official website of Indira Gandhi National Open University, is not affiliated with, endorsed by or authorised by the university, and no page on this site should be treated as an official IGNOU communication.

Programme structures, course codes, examination dates, question-paper patterns and rules change, and only ignou.ac.in and your Regional Centre can confirm the current position for your enrolment.

A guess paper is a revision aid built from past IGNOU question papers and the syllabus. No one outside IGNOU knows the questions in advance, and no claim is made that any question in this set will appear in your examination.

Study the official IGNOU material for every course you are sitting; a guess paper supplements that material and does not replace it.

No claim is made about the marks you will receive, about how an evaluator will assess your answers, or about your result. Examination and evaluation are entirely a matter for IGNOU.
