IGNOU MAEC Books: Nine Fixed Codes, Then a Fourth Semester Drawn From Six Other Programmes
Semesters 1 to 3 give every MAEC learner the same nine MEC books, while Semester 4 can pull in courses written for MCA, MBA, MA Geography and three more IGNOU programmes.
- MEC-101 to MEC-110
- 9 compulsory codes, 60 credits
- Semester 4: Groups A, B and C
- English and Hindi
- School of Social Sciences
- Codes matched before payment
Type the codes exactly as your admission record prints them; MEC-103 and MEC-203 style codes are both sorted out on WhatsApp before you pay anything.
Quick answer. IGNOU MAEC books are the printed MEC blocks IGNOU issues for its MA Economics programme, and the same blocks are free to read on eGyanKosh. The July 2026 Common Prospectus gives MAEC 80 credits over four semesters: nine compulsory MEC codes worth 60 credits in Semesters 1 to 3, then 20 credits chosen in Semester 4 from three groups that list 14 more codes, 23 in all. IGNOU posts the printed material after admission unless a learner chose digital material, and the programme runs in English and Hindi, although every Group A and Group B course is English only. Shri Chakradhar Publication prepares a complete course book for 22 of the codes, all except the MECP-301 project; each costs ₹249 in print or ₹99 as a PDF, a printed order adds one ₹100 delivery charge, and orders go through WhatsApp on +91 93546 37830.
When Does Each MAEC Paper Sit in the December 2026 Session?
The first compulsory MAEC paper is MEC-102 on Tuesday 1 December 2026, and the last is MEC-110 on Monday 4 January 2027, according to IGNOU’s tentative date sheet of 21 September 2026. Fourth-semester learners who chose Group B start six days earlier, because MMPC-014 opens the whole session on Wednesday 25 November.
Counted from Friday 2 October 2026, 60 days remain before MEC-102 and 54 before MMPC-014.
Semesters 1 to 3. MEC-102 on 1 December, MEC-101 on 2 December, MEC-203 on 4 December, MEC-205 on 7 December, MEC-106 on 8 December, MEC-107 on 9 December, MEC-104 on 11 December, MEC-109 on 19 December 2026 and MEC-110 on 4 January 2027.
Semester 4. MMPC-014 on 25 November, MGG-011 on 18 December, MCS-224 on 21 December, MGSE-009 on 23 December, MGPE-006 and MMPF-005 on 24 December, MECE-101 and MMPF-006 on 28 December, MCS-226 on 29 December, MECE-102 on 30 December 2026 and MWG-111 on 2 January 2027.
Two printed codes carry no date at all. MECE-203 and MECE-204 appear in the prospectus but not in the 21 September sheet, while the earlier MECE-103 and MEC-108, which share their titles, still sit on 22 December and 28 November. A tentative sheet can change, so check each date on the December 2026 term-end date sheet before fixing a plan, and download the admit card through the hall ticket steps in the week before your first paper.
How Many Study Hours Sit Behind 80 MAEC Credits?
MAEC carries 2,400 hours of official study, 600 in each semester, because IGNOU converts every credit into 30 hours. IGNOU’s Common Prospectus for July 2026 counts one credit as 30 hours of learner study, so a 4-credit course carries 120 hours and a 6-credit course 180 hours. The 8-credit papers, MEC-203, MEC-104, MEC-110 and MWG-111, carry 240 hours each.
What makes the load heavy is the calendar rather than the total. The prospectus summary list gives MAEC a year-wise examination mode, and the December 2026 sheet places all six Year 1 papers, both semesters, inside 19 days. Laid out against the dates, the year looks like this:
| Window | Papers due | Official hours | Hours a day from 2 Oct |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 Oct to 4 Dec 2026 | MEC-101, MEC-102, MEC-203 | 600 | 9.5 over 63 days |
| 2 Oct to 19 Dec 2026 | All six Year 1 papers | 1,200 | 15.4 over 78 days |
| 2 Oct 2026 to 4 Jan 2027 | MEC-106, MEC-107, MEC-110 | 600 | 6.4 over 94 days |
| 2 Oct 2026 to 2 Jan 2027 | A 20-credit Semester 4 set | 600 | 6.5 over 92 days |
On a narrow screen, slide the table left to reach the last column.
The hours-a-day column assumes one complete reading and nothing else. A Year 1 learner who also writes the six assignments, each worth 30 per cent of its course, has less time than the table shows. That gap is why condensed revision material gets bought at all, and it is also why the official blocks still have to come first.
IGNOU’s Own MEC Material Against a Guide Book and a Downloaded PDF
IGNOU’s own MEC blocks come first for every one of the 23 MAEC codes, because they are the material IGNOU writes, posts and sets its term-end questions from. Official study material, called self-learning material or SLM, is IGNOU’s own course content: a block is a booklet that usually holds 3 to 5 units, it is posted to the learner unless digital material was chosen at admission, and it is free to everyone on eGyanKosh. A help book, also sold as a guide book, is an independent publisher’s revision volume that condenses a course for the term-end examination; it is not an IGNOU publication. A free PDF is legitimate only when it is IGNOU’s own file from egyankosh.ac.in or the e-Content app.
| Question | IGNOU MEC blocks (SLM) | Help book or guide book | Free PDF |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who publishes it | IGNOU, School of Social Sciences | An independent publisher | IGNOU, when taken from eGyanKosh |
| What it costs | Included in the programme fee | Set by the publisher | Nothing |
| What it is for | Learning the full course | Revising before the paper | Reading the SLM on a screen |
| When it helps | From the first week of the semester | The last weeks before the paper | Whenever the print is late |
| Does IGNOU examine from it | Yes, it is the syllabus | No, it is a companion | Yes, if it is the SLM itself |
| Where to get it | IGNOU dispatch, or the Regional Centre | The publisher | egyankosh.ac.in or the e-Content app |
Four columns sit side by side here; scroll sideways on a phone.
For MAEC the free route is unusually well stocked. eGyanKosh keeps the English MAEC community and the Hindi MAEC community with Semester I to IV sets, and every file there is IGNOU’s own. Learners searching for a single downloadable bundle of the whole programme will find the guide to downloading IGNOU books as official PDFs more useful than any combined file passed around online, because only egyankosh.ac.in carries the current edition. Questions about notes and revision formats are answered on the IGNOU study notes page, and the wider category of revision volumes is described on the page about IGNOU help books, with ordering formats for them compared on the online guide books page.
What a MAEC Course Book Carries for Each Code
Chapters for the course. Each MEC, MECE or adopted code gets its own book with the course’s chapters, so MEC-109 is never bundled into a semester volume you only half need.
Latest solved papers. The book carries the latest previous years’ solved papers for the code; for MECE-203 and MECE-204, which have not yet sat a paper in this session, what is included is confirmed on WhatsApp first.
Important questions and answers. Questions drawn from the course are answered in full, which suits the long-answer pattern of MEC-104 and MEC-205.
Numbers worked through. Where IGNOU’s own MEC-203, MECE-101 and MECE-102 papers set numerical questions, the solved papers show the working rather than just the result.
Adopted codes kept whole. MMPC-014 and MMPF-005 are MBA courses and MCS-226 is an MCA course; their books follow those codes, not a shortened economics version.
Your group only. A Group C learner buys MGPE-006 and MWG-111, and never pays for MCS-224 or MMPF-006.
Prospectus titles. Where eGyanKosh shortens a title, as with MEC-101 “Microeconomic Analysis”, answers on forms and assignments should use the prospectus wording.
Medium that matches. Hindi books are prepared for the codes IGNOU offers in Hindi; the English-only Group A and B codes are prepared in English.
Codes checked first. An MEC-105 record and an MEC-205 record need different books, so the code on your admission slip is matched before any payment.
Built to sit beside the blocks. MEC-102 runs to 7 blocks on eGyanKosh; the course book is for revising those blocks, not for skipping them.
Soft copy on WhatsApp. The PDF arrives on WhatsApp once the order is confirmed, which helps when a paper is close.
Hard copy with tracking. Printed books leave by courier the next day, and the tracking ID comes on WhatsApp.

MAEC has 23 course codes in the July 2026 Common Prospectus: MEC-101 to MEC-110 in Semesters 1 to 3, and 14 fourth-semester codes spread across Groups A, B and C. Twenty-two of them are taught courses, and each has its own complete course book; MECP-301 is project work and carries no book. The semester credits add up exactly, 20 plus 20 plus 20 plus a chosen 20, to the 80 credits the prospectus states.

Block counts were read on eGyanKosh on 2 October 2026 for four courses, and three of them break IGNOU’s own average of one block per credit. IGNOU issues printed study material either as a single book of blocks and units or as separate blocks for every course, on an average one block per credit, and a block usually comprises 3 to 5 units. MEC-102, a 6-credit course, runs to 7 blocks in both the English and the Hindi set; the Hindi MEC-106 runs to 8 blocks, the first of them holding 3 units; and MWG-111, an 8-credit course, has 6 blocks according to IGNOU’s own course page. MEC-109 fits the average exactly, with 6 blocks for 6 credits. So an MEC-102 reader has more booklets to get through than the credit value suggests, and an MWG-111 reader has fewer.
Where IGNOU’s MAEC documents disagree, and where this site does too
Three groups or four. The prospectus introduction speaks of “four groups” and names three; its note says three groups; its Semester 4 note says four groups, A to D. Only Groups A, B and C are printed. IGNOU’s MAEC course registration form adds a fourth, Energy and Environmental Economics, and several websites letter Social Policy as Group D. This page uses the prospectus letters.
Project codes. The prospectus forbids taking both MECP 201 and MECP 202, yet its tables print only MECP 301. IGNOU’s 2024-25 assignment booklets record that MECP 101 and MECP 102 were renamed MECP 201 and MECP 202. ignouproject.com itself runs one MAEC project page titled for MECP-201 and MECP-202 and another for MECP-301; the second matches the current prospectus.
Medium of the elective codes. The prospectus marks every Group A and Group B course English only, but IGNOU issued Hindi assignment booklets for MECE-101, MECE-102 and MECE-104 in 2024-25. Hindi-medium learners should confirm an elective’s medium with the Regional Centre before registering for it.
Titles. eGyanKosh files MEC-101 and MEC-102 as “Microeconomic Analysis” and “Macroeconomic Analysis”, shorter than the prospectus titles. The MAEC table prints MGPE 6 as “Gandhi’s Economic Thoughts” while the Gandhi and Peace Studies table prints “Thought”, and MCS 224 appears as “Machine Learing”. IGNOU’s MEC programme page lists MWG-011 and describes MWG-111 in the same entry.
Exam mode. The prospectus summary list gives MAEC a “Year wise” examination mode, while section 3.21 describes four semesters. The December 2026 sheet sets Semester 1 and Semester 2 papers in the same session.
Codes without a date. MECE-203 and MECE-204 are printed in the prospectus but are absent from the 21 September 2026 date sheet.
When two IGNOU sources disagree, the code and title printed on your own admission record and fee receipt decide which book you need. The programme-level picture is summarised on the IGNOU prospectus page, and a code that IGNOU has changed can be checked with free tool 2 below.
Semester by Semester: The MEC Books You Need, and the Fourth-Semester Fork
A MAEC learner needs three books in each of Semesters 1, 2 and 3, and in Semester 4 needs only the codes of the group chosen, usually four or five. The first nine codes are the same for everyone. After that the route forks, and the decisions below follow the order in which IGNOU asks for them.
The complete course book covers one course code with its chapters, the latest previous years’ solved papers and the important questions and answers; the semester-wise Last Minute Exam Guide covers a whole semester at ₹249 with the important questions and answers only. No MAEC semester guide page has been published on this site yet, so the MAEC route here is course by course.
Semester 1: Three Papers Inside Four Days
MEC-101, MEC-102 and MEC-203 make up 20 credits and are examined on 2, 1 and 4 December 2026. If MEC-203 is the paper you fear, start there: it carries 8 credits and 240 hours, the most of the three. Three hard copies cost ₹847 with delivery; three soft copies cost ₹297. All three are offered in English and Hindi.
Semester 2: Growth, Research Methods and Policy
MEC-104, MEC-109 and MEC-205 follow on 11, 19 and 7 December. If your record shows MEC-105 rather than MEC-205, you are on the earlier code; IGNOU sets both in the same 7 December slot, and the book is matched to the code on your record. MEC-109 has 6 blocks on eGyanKosh, so it is the lightest of the three to read through once.
Semester 3: The Set That Ends on 4 January 2027
MEC-106 and MEC-107 sit on 8 and 9 December, but MEC-110 waits until 4 January 2027, the last MAEC paper of the session. If you can only buy two books before December, MEC-106 and MEC-107 are the ones with the earlier dates. MEC-110 is the 8-credit course of the semester. Like the first two semesters, all three are offered in English and Hindi.
Semester 4: Choosing Group A, B or C Decides Every Book
If you want data work, Group A lists MECE-101, MECE-102, MCS-226, MCS-224, MGG-011 and MECP-301, 24 credits, and every course in it is English only. IGNOU withdrew MGG-011 for the January 2025 fourth semester, so check that it is offered before counting on it. If you want finance, Group B lists MECE-101, MECE-102, MECE-203, MMPC-014, MMPF-005, MMPF-006 and MECP-301, 28 credits, also English only; three of its codes are MBA courses. If you study in Hindi or want policy work, Group C lists MECE-101, MECE-204, MGPE-006, MWG-111, MGSE-009 and MECP-301, 28 credits, with no English-only mark. In every group you complete 20 credits, and the prospectus also lets a learner mix 20 credits across groups without a specialisation. MECE-101 is the one book common to all three groups. Free tool 1 below totals the credits, hours and book cost for any mix.
Getting IGNOU’s Printed MAEC Blocks, or Tracing Them When They Do Not Come
IGNOU posts the printed MAEC blocks to the address on the admission record, and when they do not arrive the official route runs through the dispatch status page and then the Material Production and Distribution Division. The steps below follow the order a learner usually needs them; IGNOU gives no dispatch timeline, and none is given here.
- Check whether you chose digital material. A learner who opts for the soft copy of the self-learning material in the online admission form receives a 15 per cent concession on the programme fee and is not sent printed material.
- Check dispatch. The dispatch status of printed material is checked on the official study material status page linked from ignou.ac.in. The prospectus gives that address as IGNOU’s study material status page; other status addresses circulate online, and IGNOU’s own footer also links a “Study Material Status” page.
- Read the blocks online meanwhile. eGyanKosh, at egyankosh.ac.in, is IGNOU’s free digital repository of self-learning material. The prospectus says it holds the material of over 3,923 courses. The IGNOU e-Content Mobile App carries the same digital material. How to search it is explained on the eGyanKosh walkthrough, with a second route through Gyankosh search for learners who type it that way.
- Write to MPDD. Non-receipt of printed study material is taken up with the Registrar, Material Production and Distribution Division (MPDD), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi 110068, at mpdd@ignou.ac.in. The prospectus also gives the telephone numbers 011-29572008 and 29572012, and states that IGNOU is not held responsible for material that does not reach a learner. Keep your enrolment number ready.
- Raise a grievance if MPDD does not settle it. IGNOU’s online grievance system is explained on the iGRAM complaint guide.
- Change an elective only inside 30 days. Section 14.14 allows a change within 30 days of receiving the first set of material, at Rs 600 for a 2 or 4 credit Master’s course and Rs 1,200 for a 6 or 8 credit course. For MAEC this matters in Semester 4, where swapping MCS-226 for MGPE-006 swaps the material as well; course registration itself is covered on the re-registration form guide.
Medium and Code Generation: Five MAEC Beliefs Checked Against IGNOU’s Papers
Most MAEC book mistakes come from an old code or the wrong medium, and five beliefs cause nearly all of them. Each is set against what IGNOU’s own documents say.
Belief: an MEC-103 book covers MEC-203
IGNOU’s sheet sets MEC-103 and MEC-203 side by side on 4 December 2026, and eGyanKosh files MEC-205 as “Indian Economic Policy (Revised)” next to MEC-105. Paired dates do not make two codes one course. The book follows the code on your record.
Belief: MAEC is fully available in Hindi
The programme runs in English and Hindi, but the prospectus marks every Group A and Group B course English only. A Hindi-medium learner reaches Semester 4 with Group C as the group printed without that mark.
Belief: everyone in MAEC reads MCS-226
MCS-226 and MCS-224 are MCA courses that only Group A uses. A Group B or Group C learner never registers for them and needs neither book.
Belief: “MAEC-101” is an IGNOU code
Other universities print MA Economics papers as MAEC-101 or MAEC 502. IGNOU’s MAEC courses carry MEC, MECE, MECP or the adopted MCS, MGG, MMPC, MMPF, MGPE, MWG and MGSE prefixes.
Belief: the MEC-001 blocks are the current syllabus
eGyanKosh keeps the earlier year-wise MEC communities, holding MEC-001 to MEC-004 and MECE-001 to MECE-004, beside the MAEC semester sets. Those earlier codes are still examined in December 2026, but a MAEC learner reads the MEC-101 series.
One more mix-up comes from the name itself. MAEC is the current programme code; MEC is both the earlier programme code and the prefix of every compulsory course, so “IGNOU MEC books” and “IGNOU MAEC books” usually mean the same set. The complete course book is prepared in each medium IGNOU offers for the programme, and your medium is confirmed with your course codes on WhatsApp.
Two Free MAEC Planners: Fourth-Semester Groups and Code Generations
The first planner turns a semester or a Semester 4 selection into credits, hours, paper dates and a book total; the second reads any MEC-style code, including earlier ones, and returns its paper date and the official route. Neither stores anything and neither asks for an enrolment number.

For a Semester 4 learner whose first paper is MMPC-014 on 25 November, that difference decides the format more than the price does.
Assignments, Papers and Handwritten Work for the Same MEC Codes
Every MAEC course has an assignment worth 30 per cent of its result, and the site’s other pages cover that side. Assignments carry 30 per cent of the final course result and the term-end examination carries the remaining 70 per cent. Status after submission is checked on the IGNOU assignment result checker. Written answers for the current session are listed among solved IGNOU assignments, and learners who submit in their own hand will find the MAEC codes on the MAEC handwritten assignment page, with the general method set out in the step-by-step handwritten assignment guide. IGNOU’s past MEC question papers are reached through IGNOU’s previous question paper service, which the prospectus says is digitised up to December 2025; answered versions sit in the solved question paper archive and the last year paper collection, and predicted sets are in the IGNOU guess paper range. Marks can be converted on the percentage calculator or the CGPA calculator.
What MAEC Learners Usually Ask For Next
After books, the most common MAEC request is help with the fourth-semester project, MECP-301, which has no printed course book and is handled on the IGNOU project support pages, with the proposal stage covered by the synopsis and proposal guide.
Placing a MAEC Book Order: Codes First, Payment Second
Every book order is placed on WhatsApp at +91 93546 37830. The order follows four steps, and nothing is paid until the second one is done.
- Send the course codes exactly as your admission record or fee receipt prints them, with your medium and whether you want hard copies or soft copies.
- Your course codes are checked free before any payment, so a book that does not match your registration is not sold to you. An MEC-105 record gets the MEC-105 book and an MEC-205 record the MEC-205 book.
- Pay the confirmed total: books multiplied by ₹249 plus ₹100 for hard copies, or books multiplied by ₹99 for soft copies.
- Receive the books: soft copies on WhatsApp, hard copies by courier the next day with the tracking ID on WhatsApp.
The publisher behind the books is introduced on the Shri Chakradhar Publication books page, and the site’s other service charges are listed on the services and charges page.
Learners comparing sellers ask which MAEC book is the right one to buy. Before buying from any publisher, check five things: the code matches your admission record, MEC-203 rather than MEC-103 for instance; the edition year is recent; the medium is the one you study in; the book follows the semester structure rather than the earlier year-wise MEC-001 set; and it makes no promise about marks or about which questions will appear. A PDF of a paid book offered free online is not free material; the only free MAEC material is IGNOU’s own on egyankosh.ac.in.
Sources Behind This MAEC Page and the Dates They Were Read
This page draws on four kinds of source, kept apart, and each is named with the date it was read.
The Common Prospectus. Course codes, titles, credits, groups, the medium marks and the study material rules come from IGNOU’s Common Prospectus for July 2026, section 3.21 and sections 1.9, 1.11, 1.20, 14.13 and 14.14, read on 2 October 2026. Every paper date on this page was taken from the 21 September 2026 tentative sheet for the December session, and the older MEC course list from IGNOU’s MEC programme page.
eGyanKosh. Block counts for MEC-102, MEC-106 and MEC-109, the unit count for MEC-106 Block 1 and the collection handles in the code map were taken from eGyanKosh on 2 October 2026.
Semester pages. No MAEC semester guide page has been published on this site, so nothing on this page counts the contents of a semester guide.
The publisher’s terms. The ₹249 hard-copy and ₹99 soft-copy prices, the ₹100 delivery charge, next-day dispatch and ordering by WhatsApp are set by Shri Chakradhar Publication, not by IGNOU.
Answers to Recurring MAEC Book Questions
IGNOU posts the printed MAEC study material to every learner who did not choose digital material, and eGyanKosh holds the same MEC blocks free for all 4 semesters.
The English MAEC set on eGyanKosh is split into Semester-I to Semester-IV sub-communities, and the Hindi set has the same four. The IGNOU e-Content app carries the digital copies too. If the print is late, read the Semester-I files for MEC-101, MEC-102 and MEC-203 first, since those papers fall on 2, 1 and 4 December 2026.
The eGyanKosh PDF is IGNOU’s own study material, so for MEC papers it is the syllabus itself and enough to study from.
A help book is optional. It helps when time is short, for example when a Year 1 learner has six papers between 1 and 19 December 2026 and 1,200 official hours to cover. It is a companion to the blocks, never a replacement.
Each MAEC course book costs ₹249 as a hard copy or ₹99 as a soft copy, and a hard-copy order adds one ₹100 delivery charge.
Three Semester 1 books cost ₹847 in hard copy or ₹297 in soft copy. The nine compulsory books cost ₹2,341 in hard copy or ₹891 in soft copy. The price is set per book, whichever semester the code belongs to.
IGNOU offers MAEC in Hindi, but the prospectus marks every Group A and Group B course in Semester 4 as English only.
Hindi is offered for Semesters 1 to 3 and the Group C courses, and eGyanKosh keeps a separate Hindi MAEC set. Hindi course books follow the same rule: they are prepared for the codes IGNOU offers in Hindi.
The MAEC fourth-semester books depend entirely on the group you choose, because you complete 20 credits from one group or a mix.
Group A is Data Analytics, Group B is Insurance and Finance and Group C is Social Policy. MECE-101 appears in all three. MECP-301, the project, has no course book. Free tool 1 on this page totals any combination.
IGNOU MA Economics has nine compulsory courses, MEC-101 to MEC-110, worth 60 credits across Semesters 1, 2 and 3.
They are MEC-101, MEC-102 and MEC-203 in Semester 1; MEC-104, MEC-109 and MEC-205 in Semester 2; and MEC-106, MEC-107 and MEC-110 in Semester 3. MEC-203, MEC-104 and MEC-110 carry 8 credits each; the rest carry 6.
A learner whose MAEC books have not arrived should first check the official study material status page and then write to IGNOU’s MPDD at Maidan Garhi, New Delhi 110068.
MPDD is the Material Production and Distribution Division, reachable at mpdd@ignou.ac.in. Read the eGyanKosh copies meanwhile. IGNOU gives no dispatch timeline.
MEC-103 and MEC-203 are different codes, so the book you need is the one matching the code on your admission record.
IGNOU sets both papers on 4 December 2026, which shows how closely they are linked, but it still examines them as two codes. The same applies to MEC-105 and MEC-205. Send your code on WhatsApp and it is matched before payment.
IGNOU’s December 2026 date sheet is tentative; the version dated 21 September 2026 can still be revised before the session.
On that sheet the MAEC papers run from MMPC-014 on 25 November 2026 to MEC-110 on 4 January 2027. Recheck each date on ignou.ac.in before fixing a study plan.
The July 2026 prospectus prints three MAEC groups, but IGNOU’s own registration form and assignment booklets refer to four.
The fourth group named on the registration form is Energy and Environmental Economics. Some websites also letter Social Policy as Group D. Follow the group letters and codes on your own registration.
MECE-203 and MECE-204 have no paper in the December 2026 sheet, so the solved papers in those two books are confirmed on WhatsApp before payment.
Every other MAEC course book carries the latest previous years’ solved papers for its code, along with the chapters and the important questions and answers.
The MAEC hard copy is dispatched by courier the next day, and the soft copy is sent on WhatsApp once the order is confirmed.
The courier details and tracking ID come on WhatsApp. No delivery date is promised, so a learner whose paper is very close usually chooses the soft copy.
Yes, a single MAEC course book can be ordered, because books are sold one course code at a time.
One hard copy costs ₹249 plus the ₹100 delivery charge, ₹349 in all. One soft copy costs ₹99.
No, the MAEC course book covers one course code in full, while the Last Minute Exam Guide covers a semester with important questions and answers only.
No MAEC semester guide page has been published on this site, so MAEC learners order course by course.
IGNOU’s MAEC assignment booklets refer learners to the programme guide, and eGyanKosh keeps a Hindi programme guide collection inside the Hindi MAEC set.
The Common Prospectus for July 2026, section 3.21, prints the current course table, the groups and the medium marks, which is what most learners look for in the guide.
The right MA Economics book is the one whose code, edition and medium match your IGNOU record, whoever publishes it.
Check that it follows MEC-203 rather than MEC-103 where that applies, that the edition is recent, and that it makes no promise about marks. IGNOU’s own blocks remain the primary source.
IGNOU expects 2,400 hours of study for MAEC, because the programme carries 80 credits and each credit equals 30 hours.
Each semester is 600 hours. A 6-credit MEC course is 180 hours and an 8-credit course such as MEC-203 is 240 hours.
