Quick answer. An IGNOU MAANY guess paper is a revision set of recurring questions with model answers for one course code, such as MAN-101 or MAN-105, prepared for the December 2026 term-end examination (TEE), which runs from 25 November 2026 to 13 January 2027 per IGNOU’s tentative date sheet dated 21 September 2026. The ten MAANY first-year papers, MAN-101 to MAN-110, fall on ten separate dates from 7 to 30 December, and IGNOU has not yet published any earlier MAN paper, so the sets lean on the themes that recurred in twenty papers of the older MAAN courses (MANI-001, MANI-002, MAN-001, MANE-007 and two more), each a 3-hour, 100-mark paper asking five answers from two sections. The price is ₹49 PDF · ₹100 printed, per subject code; printed orders add a one-time ₹100 courier charge. Sets are prepared in every medium IGNOU examines the course in, and no one outside IGNOU knows the questions in advance.
When the Ten MAN Papers Sit in December 2026
The December 2026 MAANY papers open with MAN-101 on Monday 7 December 2026 and close with MAN-110 on Wednesday 30 December 2026, per IGNOU’s tentative December 2026 date sheet dated 21 September 2026. The whole cycle runs from 25 November 2026 to 13 January 2027, and the sheet asked for any discrepancy to reach datesheet@ignou.ac.in by 25 September 2026, so a final version may still move a date.
Tentative sheet, dated 21 September 2026
The sheet prints its two slots once, at the top, as 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM; it does not separate the blocks clearly enough to read a slot for each MAN code with confidence, so check the slot on the hall ticket. Slot rules are explained on the IGNOU exam timing page, and the full cycle sits on the December 2026 date sheet summary.
One Free Day Between Every MAN Paper
No two MAN papers share a date and none fall on consecutive days. A learner carrying all ten, a Semester I backlog plus Semester II, gets at least one clear day before each paper, and three clear days before MAN-104 and MAN-109.
| Code | Title | Date | Clear days before |
|---|---|---|---|
| MAN-101 | Introducing Anthropology | Mon 7 Dec | First paper |
| MAN-102 | Physical/Biological Anthropology | Wed 9 Dec | 1 |
| MAN-103 | Social and Cultural Anthropology | Fri 11 Dec | 1 |
| MAN-104 | Archaeological Anthropology | Tue 15 Dec | 3 |
| MAN-105 | Tribes in India | Thu 17 Dec | 1 |
| MAN-106 | Applied Dimensions in Anthropology | Sat 19 Dec | 1 |

The older MAAN codes run on a different rhythm. MANE-007, MANI-001, MANI-002, MAN-001 and MAN-002 sit on five consecutive days from 1 to 5 December 2026, and MANI-003, MANE-001 and MANE-002 follow on 7, 8 and 9 December. Their dates are in the code tables further down.
How Much a MAN Term-End Paper Counts Toward the Grade
IGNOU prints no weightage figure for MAANY or MAAN on any of the twenty MAAN papers from June 2024 to June 2026, or on the MAN-101, MAN-102, MAN-105 and MAN-107 assignment booklets for 2026. The marks split between the assignment and the term-end paper for MAANY is therefore something to confirm in the MAANY Programme Guide or at the Regional Centre, not something to assume from another programme.
What the papers do print is the stake in the room: 3 hours, 100 marks, five answers worth 20 marks each. One weak answer costs a fifth of the paper. The assignment, by contrast, is written at home over months, which is why most learners who lose a grade lose it in the exam hall. Once the result is out, the percentage calculator converts a grade card into a percentage.
Guess Paper, IGNOU Past Paper or Solved Paper for an Anthropology Learner
A guess paper is a revision set of important and recurring questions for one course code, such as MAN-102 Physical/Biological Anthropology, with model answers, prepared by a publisher from past IGNOU papers and the syllabus; sellers also call it important questions, expected questions or a model paper. It is not an IGNOU document.
A previous year question paper is the actual paper IGNOU set in an earlier term-end examination, such as the June 2026 MANI-002 paper, and it is free on IGNOU’s archive. A solved question paper is that actual paper with a publisher’s model answers added; ignouproject.com keeps those on its solved question papers page.

For a MAN code the choice is unusual. The free option, IGNOU’s own MAN paper, does not exist yet; the nearest free papers are the MAAN ones in the table in the evidence section below, which is where a careful learner starts either way.
Built on twenty IGNOU papers. Every theme in a MAN set is checked against the MAAN papers from June 2024 to June 2026, not lifted from another seller.
Ten separate December dates. The set is planned around the 7 to 30 December run, one paper at a time.
Five-answer shape. Answers are written for the 20-mark, 500-word slot and the 10-mark, 250-word short note the MAAN papers use.
Old and new codes kept apart. MAN-001 and MAN-101 are different courses; the set is made for the code on the hall ticket.
Sections A and B both covered. The two-from-each-section rule means no section can be skipped, so both get questions.
Booklet themes included. Themes from the July 2026 MAN booklets sit beside the MAAN repeats.
Short-note bank. Q5 and Q10 in every MAAN paper offered short notes; the set carries a separate bank of them.
Diagram prompts flagged. Physique assessment, growth curves and tool types often reward a labelled sketch.
Named tribes summarised. Baiga, Onge, Khasi, Ao Naga, Bhotia and Oraon each appeared at least once in MANE-007.
Medium confirmed first. The medium is checked against IGNOU's documents for the code before payment.
Per-code pricing. ₹49 as a PDF or ₹100 printed, for one code or all ten.
Reviewed by BK Sahni. Each set is reviewed before it goes out, under a named reviewer with an ORCID.

MAN, MANE and Old MAAN Codes, With the Layout IGNOU Sets
MAANY is an 80-credit Master of Arts (Anthropology) of the School of Social Sciences, four semesters of 20 credits each, per section 3.24 of the July 2026 Common Prospectus. The ten compulsory first-year courses carry 4 credits each; the third semester adds two Group A and two Group B electives and one interdisciplinary course; the fourth adds a practical, a dissertation and one more interdisciplinary course. The credits add up: 20 + 20 + (8 + 8 + 4) + (8 + 8 + 4) = 80. The IGNOU prospectus guide explains where the document lives.

None of the eight MANE-101 to MANE-108 electives, and not MGS-109, appears on the tentative December 2026 sheet, so no second-year MAANY elective paper is scheduled this cycle. MPA-033, MED-008 and MED-002 are shared with other programmes and do appear. MPA-033 and MED-002 are both on Thursday 10 December, which matters only to someone sitting a third- and a fourth-semester choice together.
Old MAAN Code to New MAN Code: Where the Titles Line Up
The older Master’s Degree in Anthropology (MAAN) is not in the July 2026 Common Prospectus, but its learners are still examined: all twelve MAAN theory codes are on the December 2026 sheet. Several old and new courses share a title, and two old codes look almost like new ones.

The matches in the fourth column are ignouproject.com’s reading of the titles and the 2026 booklets, not an IGNOU equivalence; IGNOU does not publish a MAAN-to-MAANY credit transfer on any document compared here. MANE-007 and MANI-001 are listed in the same prospectus at 8 credits under the Post Graduate Diploma in Tribal Studies (PGDTRBS), which is one reason they are still examined.

Every MAAN paper compared from June 2024 to June 2026 carries the same layout: 3 hours, 100 marks, Section A with questions 1 to 5 and Section B with questions 6 to 10, five answers in all with at least two from each section, 20 marks per question, and a word limit of 500 words for a 20-mark answer and 250 words for a 10-mark note. No layout change was found across the five sessions, which is itself unusual next to programmes whose papers dropped a case study or a section in the same period.
The 2026 MAN booklets use the same rule: five questions, at least two from each of Sections A and B, with the same 500 and 250 word limits. That is a booklet, not a term-end paper, so the first MAN paper’s layout is known only when IGNOU sets it.
Conflicts, Look-Alike Codes and Outdated Material
Disagreements found in IGNOU’s documents and on this site.
- Medium: the July 2026 Common Prospectus lists MAANY as English and Hindi; IGNOU’s MAANY programme page says English. Every MAAN paper compared is English only, and the 2026 MAN booklets compared are English files.
- Spelling: the same programme page prints MAN-101 as “Introducing Anthroplogy”; the prospectus prints Introducing Anthropology.
- Look-alike codes: MAN-001 (Social Anthropology, MAAN) is not MAN-101, and MAN-002 (Archaeological Anthropology, MAAN) is not MAN-102. MANE-001 Human Genetics and MANE-101 Human Genetics are different codes with one title.
- Weightage on this site: ignouproject.com’s own MAANY handwritten assignment page states a 70 and 30 split without naming a source, while no MAAN paper or 2026 MAN booklet compared prints a weightage. That wording is being corrected.
- Outdated material: guess papers sold as “MA Anthropology” are usually built for MAN-001, MANI-001 or MANE-007. They do not match a MAN-101 to MAN-110 hall ticket by code, even where the themes overlap.
No per-code ignouproject.com page exists yet for any MAN or MANE code, so the codes above are not linked one by one. For the whole programme, the MAANY handwritten assignment guide lists the same codes with their booklet dates.
Twenty IGNOU Anthropology Papers Compared, June 2024 to June 2026
Seven themes appeared in all five MANI-002 Physical Anthropology papers from June 2024 to June 2026, and physique assessment by Sheldon or Heath-Carter sat at question 4 in four of those five. That regularity, across a course whose successor is MAN-102, is the strongest single finding in the MAAN archive.
IGNOU has not published a single MAN-101 to MAN-110 paper. Its December 2025 question-paper index lists twelve MAAN files, from MAN-001 to MANI-003, and no MAN-101 to MAN-110 file; its June 2026 index page shows no rows at all, although the June 2026 MAAN papers are live in IGNOU’s June 2026 folder. December 2026 is therefore the first published sitting for every MAN code.
MANI-002: Seven Themes in All Five Papers
MANI-002 is the most regular MAAN course by theme, though not by question number. In June 2026 IGNOU moved physique assessment from question 4 to question 7 and palaeoanthropology from question 9 or 10 to question 2, so a learner who memorised question numbers would have been misled; one who revised the themes would not.

MANE-007: Scheduled Tribe Provisions Asked Every Time
A question on the constitutional or special provisions for Scheduled Tribes appeared in all five MANE-007 Tribes in India papers, at question 8 in four of them and question 9 in June 2026. Vulnerable or denotified groups and social differentiation also reached five of five. MANE-007 shares its title with MAN-105.

MANI-001: Ethnography and Excavation in All Four
MANI-001 Anthropology and Methods of Research mixes theory with method. Ethnography, archaeological exploration and excavation, the scope of the discipline, and variables or hypothesis each appeared in all four papers from December 2024 to June 2026; the Renaissance origin of anthropology came twice, at question 2 both times.

How the July 2026 MAN Booklets Echo the MAAN Papers
Nine of the ten question parts in IGNOU’s MAN-105 Tribes in India assignment for July 2026 and January 2027 deal with a theme that also appeared in at least one MANE-007 paper from June 2024 to June 2026, including PVTGs, debt bondage and land alienation, depopulation and loss of dialects; only sacred spaces did not. The MAN-101 booklet for the same session shares 7 of its 10 parts with MANI-001, MANI-002 or MAN-001 themes, and the MAN-102 booklet shares 5 of 10 with MANI-002.
| MAN booklet | Parts | Parts on a MAAN theme | Themes that did not appear in a MAAN paper |
|---|---|---|---|
| MAN-105, July 2026 | 10 | 9 | Sacred spaces |
| MAN-101, July 2026 | 10 | 7 | Linguistic anthropology, neuro-anthropology, climate change |
| MAN-102, July 2026 | 10 | 5 | Serology, homology and analogy, kinanthropometry, dendrochronology, crude death rate |

An assignment booklet is not a term-end paper, and an overlap is not a forecast. It does show that the new MAN courses were written from the same blocks of ideas, which is the honest basis for revising a MAN code from MAAN evidence.
Counting Method and the Papers Used
The counts above come from twenty IGNOU term-end papers, each compared in full by ignouproject.com on 8 October 2026: MANI-002 and MANE-007 from June 2024 to June 2026 (five sessions each), MANI-001 and MAN-001 from December 2024 to June 2026 (four each), and MAN-002 and MANE-005 from December 2025 (one each, used only for layout). A theme counts once per paper however many parts it filled; matching wording to a theme is a human judgement, not string matching, and a theme seen once is reported as seen once, never as important.
The theme tables cover MANI-001, MANI-002, MAN-001 and MANE-007. For MAN-101 to MAN-110, and for any code outside the tables, the format is confirmed on WhatsApp against the latest IGNOU paper the moment one is published. Every paper is linked below, so any count can be checked against IGNOU’s own file.

Misprints in IGNOU's Own Anthropology Files
- The December 2025 MANI-002 paper prints “Health and Carter’s Method” at question 4; the method is Heath-Carter somatotyping.
- In the December 2024 MANI-002 paper the Hardy-Weinberg law is spelled “Hardy-Wienberg”, and the June 2026 paper prints “Catup growth” for catch-up growth.
- The June 2025 MAN-001 paper spells potlatch “Pottach” and ends one instruction “Attempt five questions in.”
- The June 2024 MANI-002 paper shows no marks against questions 4 and 9, and the June 2024 MANE-007 headings read “Section&A” and “Section&B”.
- IGNOU’s archive files MANE-007 as MANE-7.pdf for December 2022 and MANE-007.pdf later, and moved the folder name from MAAN to MASTERS IN ANTHROPOLOGY.
A misprint does not change what is being asked, but searching “Pottach” or “Health and Carter” in a textbook finds nothing, which wastes revision time a day before the paper. The previous year paper guide explains how IGNOU’s archive is organised by session.
How a MAANY Revision Set Is Assembled
- Match the code first. The hall-ticket code decides the set; MAN-103 is prepared as MAN-103, with MAN-001 used only as theme evidence.
- List the recurring themes. The MAAN theme tables above set the first draft of priorities for the matching MAN course.
- Add the 2026 booklet themes. Themes in the July 2026 MAN booklet that no MAAN paper asked are added, because they show where the new course departs.
- Write to the paper’s shape. Answers run to the 500-word, 20-mark slot or the 250-word, 10-mark note, with diagrams where a physical or archaeological answer calls for one.
- Review against the blocks. BK Sahni reviews each set against the IGNOU blocks for the code before it is shared.
A worked example of step 4: for a physique-assessment question, the answer opens with what a somatotype is, sets out Sheldon’s three components and the Heath-Carter anthropometric method side by side, sketches the somatochart, and closes with one limitation of each. That structure fits 500 words and 34 minutes.
What a MAANY Guess Paper Can Promise Before a First MAN Sitting
A guess paper is a revision aid built from past IGNOU question papers and the syllabus. No one outside IGNOU knows the questions in advance, and no claim is made that any question in this set will appear in your examination.
Where a MAN Set Saves Time
A set narrows a large syllabus to the themes IGNOU has actually returned to in the predecessor courses, gives a model of a 500-word answer and a 250-word note, and keeps both sections in view so the two-from-each-section rule never catches a learner short. For MAN-105 in particular, the overlap with MANE-007 is strong enough to make that narrowing worthwhile.
What It Cannot Know Before 7 December
No MAN paper has been published, so nobody outside IGNOU knows whether MAN-101 will keep the MAAN layout, how many short-note options it will offer, or whether the newer themes in the 2026 booklets will dominate. A set built on MAAN evidence cannot cover a format IGNOU has not yet revealed, and it does not replace the MAN blocks.
Revise it free first. IGNOU’s MAN blocks are on eGyankosh, explained on the eGyankosh guide, with an alternative route through the Gyankosh download steps. The twenty MAAN papers linked above cost nothing. Printed block options are on the IGNOU books download page, and condensed revision is on the IGNOU study notes page. A paid set is worth it only after these.

Where IGNOU Files Its Anthropology Papers and the 21 September Sheet
IGNOU keeps term-end papers in two places: session index pages on ignou.ac.in and older folders on webservices.ignou.ac.in. The December 2025 index lists the MAAN files by code, while the June 2026 index showed no rows when compared on 8 October 2026, even though the June 2026 files open directly. For June 2024 and earlier, the June 2024 question-paper portal leads to a School of Social Sciences list that names all twelve MAAN courses.
- Open the session index for the latest session and search the page for the code, for example MANI-002.
- Open the PDF and check the session printed on page 1; some folders hold more than one session.
- For the date sheet, open the tentative December 2026 date sheet PDF and search for the code without its hyphen, such as MAN101.
- Check the version date at the top of the sheet; the one compared here is dated 21 September 2026.
The site’s general date sheet guide covers how tentative and final sheets differ.
Hall Ticket Before 7 December, Grade Card After the MAN Results
The hall ticket for the December 2026 cycle is issued shortly before the first paper; the hall ticket guide covers when it appears, and the hall ticket download steps walk through the enrolment-number login. It also names the centre, which the exam centre page explains how to change. The exam fee page lists what the exam form costs per course.
After the papers, December results appear on the IGNOU result page, with Master of Arts results tracked on the MA result page; legacy MAAN learners who sat June 2026 can still check the June 2026 term-end result. Assignment marks show on the assignment result and grade card checker, and the final grade card page covers the completed programme. A disputed mark goes through IGNOU revaluation, and the CGPA calculator turns grades into a CGPA.
Alongside a MAN Set: Assignments, Help Books and Guides
The MAN assignment is the other half of each course: solved versions are on the IGNOU solved assignments page, and the programme’s handwritten option is the guide already linked in the code section. For deeper reading, the IGNOU help books range and guide books online cover theory courses, and every programme’s guess papers are listed on the IGNOU guess paper hub. The MANL-101 practical, the MANP-101 dissertation and the MANE-106 Ethnographic Training Project are not examined by a theory paper, so they are handled separately on the anthropology dissertation guide. All service rates are on the services and charges list.
English, Hindi and the December 2026 Session for MAANY Sets
Each set is prepared for the upcoming term-end examination, in every medium IGNOU examines that course in, and the medium for your course code is confirmed on WhatsApp before you pay.
For MAANY the medium is the one fact IGNOU’s documents disagree on. The prospectus lists English and Hindi, the programme page lists English, and all twenty MAAN papers compared were printed in English only, with no Hindi half. MAN sets are therefore prepared in English; a Hindi set for a MAN code is prepared only where IGNOU confirms a Hindi paper for that code, and that check happens on WhatsApp before any payment. Every set on this page targets the December 2026 TEE.
Placing a MAANY Order: Prices, Codes and Dispatch
The rate is ₹49 per subject code for a solved guess paper as a PDF, or ₹100 per subject code as a printed copy. Printed copies carry a one-time courier charge of ₹100 per order, whatever the number of subject codes; the PDF has no courier charge.
Worked totals: all five Semester I codes come to ₹245 as PDFs, or ₹500 printed plus the ₹100 courier, ₹600 in all. All ten MAN codes come to ₹490 as PDFs, or ₹1,000 printed plus ₹100 courier, ₹1,100 in all.
- Send the codes from the hall ticket, as printed, on WhatsApp +91 93546 37830.
- Say PDF or printed, and confirm the medium for each code.
- Pay the quoted total once it is confirmed back.
- Receive the PDF on WhatsApp, or the courier details for a printed copy.
The PDF is shared on WhatsApp once payment is confirmed. A printed copy is dispatched the next day after payment is confirmed, and the courier details are shared on WhatsApp. No arrival date is promised, because transit time depends on the courier and your location. There is no minimum order: one subject or ten, same rate per format.

Commercial terms. The prices, formats, dispatch and medium rule belong to ignouproject.com, not to IGNOU.
Limits, stated plainly: no MAN paper exists yet; the June 2024 papers for MANI-001 and MAN-001 could not be opened in IGNOU’s folder; the date sheet is tentative; and theme matching is a reading, not a count of identical words.
MAANY and MAAN Exam Questions, Answered Briefly
An IGNOU MAANY guess paper is a revision set for one MAN or MANE course code, with model answers to recurring questions, built from past IGNOU papers and the syllabus. For MAN-101 to MAN-110 it draws on the older MAAN papers from June 2024 to June 2026, because no MAN paper has been published yet.
A MAANY guess paper costs ₹49 per subject code as a PDF or ₹100 per subject code as a printed copy. Printed orders add a one-time ₹100 courier charge per order, whatever the number of codes, and the PDF has no courier charge. There is no minimum order.
The MAANY first-year papers run from MAN-101 on Monday 7 December to MAN-110 on Wednesday 30 December 2026, per IGNOU's tentative date sheet dated 21 September 2026. The whole December cycle runs from 25 November 2026 to 13 January 2027. Check the slot on your hall ticket.
In the MANI-002 Physical Anthropology papers from June 2024 to June 2026, seven themes came in all five, including physique assessment, palaeoanthropology and modes of inheritance. In MANE-007 Tribes in India, constitutional provisions for Scheduled Tribes appeared in all five papers. These are counts of past papers, not forecasts.
No one outside IGNOU knows the MAN questions, and no claim is made that any question in a set will appear. A MAANY set concentrates on themes that recurred in the MAAN papers and the 2026 MAN booklets, so revision time goes where IGNOU has asked before.
No. IGNOU's December 2025 question-paper index lists only the older MAAN codes, and its June 2026 index shows no rows, so December 2026 is the first published sitting for MAN-101 to MAN-110. The closest free papers are MANI-001, MANI-002, MAN-001 and MANE-007.
No. MAN-001 Social Anthropology belongs to the older MAAN programme and sits on 4 December 2026, while MAN-101 Introducing Anthropology belongs to MAANY and sits on 7 December 2026. The nearest MAAN course to MAN-101 by title and booklet themes is MANI-001.
Every MAAN paper compared from June 2024 to June 2026 is 3 hours and 100 marks, with Section A holding questions 1 to 5 and Section B questions 6 to 10. Learners answer five, at least two from each section, at 20 marks each, within 500 words; questions 5 and 10 are pairs of 10-mark short notes.
A MAANY set is prepared in English, which is the medium of every MAAN paper compared and of the 2026 MAN booklets. The prospectus lists English and Hindi for MAANY, so a Hindi set is prepared only where IGNOU confirms a Hindi paper for that code, checked on WhatsApp before payment.
Start with IGNOU's free MAAN papers, because they show the real layout and the themes, then use a guess paper to prioritise and practise answers. For a MAN code there is no free MAN paper yet, so the MAAN papers and the 2026 MAN booklet are the free starting point.
No. A solved question paper is a real IGNOU paper from an earlier session with model answers added, while a guess paper groups recurring themes for one code across several sessions. For MAN codes no solved MAN paper exists, because IGNOU has not yet published a MAN paper.
IGNOU prints no weightage figure on any MAAN paper compared from June 2024 to June 2026 or on the 2026 MAN booklets. Confirm the assignment and term-end split for MAANY in the Programme Guide or at the Regional Centre rather than borrowing another programme's figure.
No MANE-101 to MANE-108 elective appears on IGNOU's tentative December 2026 date sheet dated 21 September 2026, so no second-year MAANY elective paper is scheduled this cycle. The older MANE-001 to MANE-007 codes are examined, from 1 to 30 December 2026.
No two MAN-101 to MAN-110 papers share a date in IGNOU's tentative December 2026 sheet, and none fall on consecutive days. Among the MAANY options, MPA-033 and MED-002 are both on Thursday 10 December 2026. That matters only to a learner sitting both.
Send the course codes, exactly as the hall ticket prints them, to WhatsApp +91 93546 37830. Choose PDF or printed and confirm the medium. Once the quoted total is paid, the PDF is shared on WhatsApp, or a printed copy is dispatched the next day after payment with the courier details shared.
Check that the set names your exact code, such as MAN-105 and not MANE-007, targets December 2026, follows the five-answer layout, and gives model answers in exam length. A seller claiming a percentage of questions will come is claiming something no one outside IGNOU can know.
Yes. All twenty MAAN papers behind the counts on this page are on IGNOU's own servers and are linked by code and session in the evidence section. IGNOU's session index pages also list papers by code, though the June 2026 index showed no rows on 8 October 2026.
