MSCFSQM learners admitted in a January session submit their assignments by 30 September of that same year. The School of Agriculture second-year booklet for the January 2026 and July 2026 sessions prints 30th September, 2026 for January 2026, and the 2025 first-year booklet printed 30th September, 2025 for January 2025, both with the note that the paper is due before submission of the TEE form. The programme guide opens the December exam form without late fee from 1 to 30 September, so in practice a January-cycle learner finishes the MVP papers and fills the exam form in the same month.
MSCFSQM learners admitted in a July session submit by 31 March of the following year. The 2026 second-year booklet gives 31st March, 2027 for the July 2026 session, and the 2025 first-year booklet gave 31st March, 2026 for July 2025. That date sits at the end of the programme guide’s 1 to 31 March window for the June exam form, and it fits the guide’s rule that a July admission sits its first term-end examination the next June, per the School of Agriculture booklets read on 20 September 2026.
Two other date pairs circulate for this programme. Neither comes from an SOA paper. General IGNOU pages repeat 31 October and 30 April, which the School of Management Studies prints on MBA and MCOM papers, and several aggregator pages written in 2026 still quote 31 May, the extended June 2026 deadline announced for all programmes. No IGNOU extension notice for the December 2026 examination had been found when this page was checked, so treat 30 September as live until ignou.ac.in says otherwise.
The first planner further down recomputes both dates from today, so it never shows a deadline that has already gone.
How Much Each MVP Assignment Counts Toward The Course Result
An MVP assignment is worth 30 of the 100 marks in its course, and those 30 marks must reach 12 on their own. The MSCFSQM programme guide, dated November 2024, sets the pass line at 40 per cent in every component separately as well as in aggregate, so a strong term-end paper in MVP-003 does not rescue an assignment that scored 10. The raw booklet mark is out of 50 on a standard MVP paper and is converted to that 30 per cent weight, which the booklet itself states.

The assignment also works as a gate. The PGDFSQM programme guide, which governs the same five first-year codes, asks for the Programme In-charge to sign the exam form confirming that MVP-001 to MVP-004 and MVPI-001 have all been submitted. Miss one paper and the form can stop there.
Solved Assignment Or Handwritten Set: Which One An MSCFSQM Learner Needs
A solved assignment is a soft-copy reference file of model answers for one course code and one session, for example MVP-005 for 2026, which an MSCFSQM learner reads on a screen to see how an answer on toxicant extraction or marine toxins can be built. It is study material, used before writing.
A handwritten assignment is those answers written out by hand on foolscap, with the 4 cm margin on the top, bottom and left that the School of Agriculture booklet asks for, and handed in as paper to the Programme Coordinator of the study centre. That paper set is the object IGNOU evaluates for MSCFSQM, per instructions 2, 3 and 5 of the 2026 booklet.
The programme guide is blunt about the difference. It tells learners to write in their own handwriting and not to send a typed assignment response, and it warns that reproducing course material or another learner’s responses can be penalised with a zero. A printed solved file therefore fails twice: wrong form, and not your words.

What an MSCFSQM set is built around, taken from the booklets rather than from a template:
Ten papers, not sixteen. Practical, project, seminar and dissertation rows are never billed as assignments, because no booklet sets a question for them.
Your year decides the number. Assignment 1 means MVP-001 in year one and MVP-005 in year two, so every bundle is labelled by course code first.
Foolscap, three margins. Instructions 2 and 3 of both SOA booklets ask for foolscap and 4 cm left clear on the top, bottom and left.
Seven cover lines in SOA order. Enrollment number, name, address, course code, course title, study centre name and code, then the date.
MVPI-001 kept to its 25 marks. Food Microbiology is answered to half the length of a 50-mark MVP paper, since the booklet halves the marks.
MVP-008 queried before writing. The MOOC code is written only after your study centre confirms an IGNOU assignment is expected from your batch.
Standards named as the question names them. The 2025 MVP-004 paper asks about ISO 9000:2005 and ISO 22000:2005 clauses, while the course blocks teach the 2015 and 2018 editions; the answer addresses the edition asked.
About 500 words where the paper says so. MVP-005 prints that length against each of its five 10-mark questions, and the set follows it.
English, because MSCFSQM is English. The prospectus and the programme guide both record English as the only medium.
Lateral entrants priced on year two. PGDFSQM holders usually carry first-year credits across, so the quote starts at MVP-005.

MSCFSQM runs sixteen course rows worth 72 credits for a regular learner, and ten of those rows carry a Tutor Marked Assignment. Section 3.78 of the July 2026 Common Prospectus prints no credit total beneath the M.Sc. table, so the figure was checked by adding the rows: 36 credits in the first year and 36 in the second, which matches the 72 stated in IGNOU’s MSCFSQM programme guide of November 2024. Lateral entrants add MVPP-004 for 4 more credits, taking their second year to 40.
MSCFSQM is the programme code on the admission record; MVP, MVPI, MVPL, MVPP and MVPS are the course prefixes printed on the papers; and the MSCSFQM spelling in two of IGNOU’s own file names is a typo for the same programme, not a separate one.

Titles and credits are from section 3.78 of the prospectus; the nature column is from the programme guide; the assignment column is from the 2025 first-year and 2026 second-year booklets. The exit route matters here too. A learner who stops after year one leaves with the PG Diploma in Food Safety and Quality Management, PGDFSQM, whose table in section 8.30 of the same prospectus is the first-year list above, credit for credit. SOA prints no TMA code string on MSCFSQM papers, such as the MVP-005/TMA/2026 pattern other schools use. Each paper is identified as Assignment 1 to Assignment 5 with the course code in brackets, and the count restarts every year: in the 2025 first-year booklet Assignment 1 is MVP-001, while in the 2026 second-year booklet Assignment 1 is MVP-005. The numbers also moved between editions, because Assignment 4 was MVP-009 in the 2024 second-year booklet and became MVP-008 in 2026. On the cover, write the course code and course title, which the booklet asks for, rather than relying on the assignment number alone.
The block and unit titles for each code are listed in section 3.8 of the programme guide, and the blocks themselves can be read through the eGyanKosh route to IGNOU study blocks or through the alternative Gyankosh access page.
Twelve conflicts found by reading IGNOU’s MSCFSQM documents against each other
MVP-008 is the biggest open question. The July 2026 prospectus and the programme guide both run MVP-008 as a SWAYAM MOOC from IIT Kharagpur, credited by transfer, yet the 2026 second-year booklet lists Assignment 4 (MVP-008) in its date table. Confirm with your Programme Coordinator before writing it. The other disagreements:
- The 2026 second-year booklet says there are four assignments in the second year, then lists five in its own table; the 2024 booklet listed four and had no MVP-008.
- Assignment 4 means MVP-009 in the 2024 booklet and MVP-008 in the 2026 booklet.
- The booklets ask for foolscap with 4 cm on the top, bottom and left and a seven-line header; the programme guide asks for A4 with about 2.5 inches on the left and a ten-line header that adds programme code, programme title, telephone and e-mail.
- MVP-007 is titled Recent trends in Food Technology and safety in the prospectus and Emerging Trends in Food Technology and Safety in the programme guide and the 2024 booklet.
- The programme guide table calls MVP-008 and MVP-009 theory courses (3+0 and 4+0) while its own syllabus headings print 0+3 and 0+4.
- The booklet converts every assignment to 30 per cent of theory, but the programme guide weights MVP-008 at 25 per cent.
- The lateral-entry rule refers to a 32-credit PGDFSQM, while the current PGDFSQM table in section 8.30 totals 36; the extra 4-credit MVPP-004 is described as project work in section 3.78, as project work, industrial training report or food testing lab training in the programme table and guide, and with a MOOC added on the Samarth admission page.
- The 2025 MVP-004 paper cites ISO 9000:2005 and ISO 22000:2005, while the MVP-004 blocks teach ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2018.
- The prospectus fee is Rs 13,200 a year, Rs 26,400 in all; the November 2024 programme guide says Rs 13,000 and Rs 26,000.
- Two IGNOU file names spell the programme MSCSFQM.
- In-house: the search summary of the ignouproject.com MSCFSQM dissertation guide calls MVPI-001 a practical course; IGNOU classes it as integrated, 2 theory and 2 practical credits. That wording is being corrected.
How An MVP Handwritten Set Is Put Together
Five stages, each tied to something printed on an SOA paper.
- Codes and booklet year first. Send the MVP and MVPI codes exactly as your registration record shows them, plus the Academic Session line from the cover of your booklet. A 2024 second-year learner and a 2026 one are answering different questions under the same codes.
- The paper is matched to its edition. Each code is checked against the 2024, 2025 or 2026 SOA file it belongs to, and MVP-008 is held back until your centre confirms it.
- Answers drafted from the course blocks. MVP-002 answers draw on the Food Safety and Standards Act units, MVP-004 on the ISO and retail-standard units, and so on, in the wording the booklet’s instruction 8 asks for rather than copied block text.
- Written on foolscap, cover lines left for you to check. The seven header lines go at the top of the first page in SOA order, question numbers and parts are marked as instruction 4 asks, and the IGNOU assignment cover page explained shows the general layout if your centre supplies its own sheet.
- Couriered, reviewed, then handed in. The bundles reach your pin code; you read them, keep a photocopy as instruction 6 advises, and take them to your study centre’s Programme Coordinator before the TEE form.

MSCFSQM answers are dense with numbers, chemical names and clause references, so the sample photo matters more than usual. IGNOU posts MSCFSQM question papers as separate course-named PDFs under the School of Agriculture on ignou.ac.in, and the quickest route is a course-code search.
- Open the Current Assignments page. Go to IGNOU Current Assignments download page and type the course code, for example MVP-005, into its search box.
- Open the file, then read the cover. The first page states the Academic Session. The 2026 second-year MSCFSQM booklet covers January 2026 and July 2026; the 2025 first-year MVP-004 booklet covers January 2025 and July 2025.
- Check the date table on page 2. It maps Assignment 1 to 5 against course codes and gives both last dates.
- Go to the archive for older cycles. Backlog learners find superseded papers through IGNOU archived assignments, and the older master’s degree assignment index on webservices.ignou.ac.in still lists MSCFSQM files up to January and July 2024, including the 2024 second-year booklet.
No first-year MSCFSQM booklet dated 2026 turned up in this research; the newest first-year files found were the course PDFs for January and July 2025. After The Study Centre Accepts Your MVP Papers
After submission the study centre evaluates your MVP papers and returns them with marks and teaching comments, according to the MSCFSQM programme guide, and the marks later reach the university record. Tracking comes in three stages. The IGNOU assignment status and result checker shows whether a submission has been logged; the assignment marks status page shows marks against each course code; and the grade card status guide, assignment entries on the grade card and final grade card explainer show the course once term-end marks join it.
Three MSCFSQM rules are worth knowing before you submit, not after. Once an assignment passes, it cannot be resubmitted to raise the mark. Assignments are not re-evaluated except for factual errors, so the IGNOU re-evaluation process applies to term-end scripts only. And the programme guide grades the degree on a five-point scale from A to E, with 80 per cent and above earning an A, which the IGNOU percentage calculator and the CGPA calculator help you work through. Missing marks are taken up with the Assistant Registrar (Assignment) at the Student Evaluation Division, quoting your enrollment number format.
January-cycle learners who submit by 30 September sit the December paper next; the December 2026 term-end date sheet lists when each MVP code is scheduled.

Medium and session note
MSCFSQM is issued in English only: section 3.78 of the July 2026 Common Prospectus lists English as the medium of instruction, and section 3.3 of the programme guide says the M.Sc. is offered in English language only. There is therefore no Hindi MVP paper to write, whatever a vendor listing says, and learners in Hindi-medium programmes are pointed to the guide to IGNOU assignments in Hindi instead.
On sessions, IGNOU’s published MSCFSQM files run to January and July 2025 for year one and January and July 2026 for year two. Backlog learners should read the programme guide’s line on this: anyone who has not cleared an assignment in an earlier year is told to obtain the new set on offer, so the current paper is usually the one to submit. The programme must be finished within four years, and second-year entry needs a re-registration form; a learner past the four-year limit looks at IGNOU readmission.

Sources, Authorship And The Limits Of This Research
This page separates three kinds of fact. From the July 2026 IGNOU Common Prospectus, sections 3.78 and 8.30 and the programme table: the course codes, titles, credits, medium, duration and fee. From IGNOU’s School of Agriculture assignment booklets, the 2026 second-year file, the 2025 first-year MVP-004 and MVP-003 files and the 2024 second-year file: the submission dates, the assignment numbering, the marks per paper, the word guidance on MVP-005 and the cover-page format. What this research could not settle is stated plainly. The MVP-008 question page was not seen, only its line in the 2026 date table. No 2026 first-year booklet and no 2025 second-year booklet were found. The ignouproject.com dissertation guide could not be opened in full during this build, so the in-house correction above rests on its search summary. And IGNOU extension notices can arrive at any point, by university or by Regional Centre.
Questions MSCFSQM Learners Ask Before Ordering
The MSCFSQM last date is 30 September 2026 for learners admitted in the January 2026 session and 31 March 2027 for the July 2026 session. Both dates are printed in the School of Agriculture second-year booklet for 2026, each marked as due before the term-end examination form, and the 2025 first-year booklet used the same 30 September and 31 March pattern. IGNOU can extend a deadline by notification, and none for the December 2026 examination had been found by 20 September 2026, so check ignou.ac.in on the day you submit.
MSCFSQM assignments go to the Programme Coordinator of your study centre, which is what instruction 5 of both School of Agriculture booklets says. The programme guide adds that the evaluated responses come back from the same study centre or programme study centre with marks and comments. A Regional Centre that runs an upload link for a particular cycle announces it itself; in that case you scan the delivered hard copy yourself, because no soft copy is sold here.

The 2024 second-year booklet listed four, MVP-005, MVP-006, MVP-007 and MVP-009.
