IGNOU MSCCC Project: MEVP 033 carries 8 of the 40 Year II credits
The IGNOU MSCCC Project is MEVP 033 Project Work, an 8-credit course in Year II of the M.Sc. Climate Change offered by SOITS. It sits beside MEVL 032 Lab and two optional courses you pick, and it carries its own Rs 500 fee, due by 30 November 2026 for the December 2026 cycle. IGNOU has not yet issued an MEVP 033 manual or proforma, so most supervisor, synopsis and report rules quoted online come from the sibling MEVP-011 handbook. This page marks which rule is which.
- MEVP 033 is one of six fixed Year II courses, and the year reaches 40 credits only after two of five optional courses are added (p. 101).
- Eight credits at 30 study hours a credit means about 240 hours of project work (pp. 23 and 101).
- The fee table charges Rs 500 for a project above 4 credits and the same for a practical course above 4 credits, so MEVP 033 and MEVL 032 each cost Rs 500 (p. 27).
- The lateral-entry sentence for MSCCC names PGCCC, yet it is printed under the PGDCCC table on p. 298; the PGCCC table on p. 333 carries no such note.
- The prospectus says a project guide booklet comes with the study material (p. 24). For MEVP 033, none had been published by 19 October 2026.
MEVP 033 is the point where the M.Sc. Climate Change stops testing what you have read and asks you to study a place, a period and a data set of your own. MSCCC is the 80-credit master’s degree of the School of Interdisciplinary and Trans-disciplinary Studies (SOITS): 40 credits in Year I, 40 in Year II, two to four years, annual examinations, English medium, Rs 8,000 a year or Rs 16,000 for the programme (p. 40; credits on p. 101). A learner who stops after completing the 40 Year I credits can take the PG Diploma in Climate Change instead (p. 101), and that exit carries no project, as the PGDCCC table on pp. 297 to 298 shows. The prospectus writes the code with a space; other pages write it as MEVP-033 project work or simply MEVP 33, and all three name the same course.

Everything else a learner needs for the IGNOU MSCCC Project, from who may supervise to how long the report runs, is missing from the prospectus. The sections below say plainly where each of those answers comes from, and the ledger in part four separates MEVP 033’s own rules from borrowed ones.
Topic choice is where project students tell us they feel most lost, and many say IGNOU runs no class on writing a synopsis or a project report. MEVP 033 widens that gap: the prospectus promises a project booklet with the study material, and no MEVP 033 booklet has appeared yet.
In our records, 70 to 80 percent of project students become active only in the last month before a submission date, and when that date falls in November most of them start in October. So far, the only MEVP 033 date IGNOU has fixed is a fee date, 30 November 2026 for the December 2026 term-end examination. It is neither a synopsis date nor a report date.
Six fixed courses plus two you choose: the Year II basket
A list of the IGNOU MSCCC Project year that stops at the six fixed courses adds up to only 32 credits. Under them, the table on p. 101 prints “Choose any two courses from the following optional courses”, and those two bring Year II to 40.

For the project, MEV 019 matters more than any other row. It is the research methods course, and in MSCCC it runs in the same year as MEVP 033, while MSCENV learners take the same course a semester before their MEVP 11 dissertation (p. 92). A climate learner therefore plans the project while still studying the methods, so read its sampling and data units early. The optional pair also shapes your choices: MEV 014 or MEVE 014 can carry a resource or biodiversity angle into a project, and MIO 001 fits a ward or village setting.

It adds 4 credits for each of the four fixed theory courses and 8 each for MEVL 032 and MEVP 033, which makes 32, then adds 4 for every optional course you tick and compares the sum with the 40 printed on p. 101. For fees it applies the p. 27 slabs, Rs 300 up to 4 credits and Rs 500 above, to the two 8-credit courses, and it quotes the 30 November 2026 Samarth date from IGNOU’s December 2026 notice. Your entry route only changes the caution it prints, using the p. 298 starred line and the p. 333 PGCCC table. It stores nothing and sends nothing anywhere.
Students on IGNOU project courses rarely know how long approval takes, or whom to write to when a month or two passes without news. Three IGNOU climate programmes share course codes, and the prospectus prints its lateral-entry sentence in a place that is easy to misread. Before you plan an IGNOU MSCCC Project from a certificate or diploma, read the three tables side by side.

Under the PGDCCC table the prospectus prints: “Candidates having PGCCC from IGNOU may take lateral entry into the second year of the MSCCC programme subject to fulfilling requirement as per University guidelines and credit transfer policy”. The PGCCC table itself, on p. 333, carries no such line, and a 16-credit certificate covers four of the ten Year I courses. Read as printed, a PGCCC holder would still owe the Year I courses the certificate did not include. That reading is ours, and the coordinators decide, so put the question to them in writing before you plan around a lateral start.
For a PGDCCC holder the overlap is complete, because the ten diploma courses are the ten MSCCC Year I courses. Even so, none of the tables read for this page (pp. 100 to 101, 297 to 298 and 333) prints a lateral-entry sentence naming PGDCCC; beside the Year I exit, p. 101 adds that the existing PGDCCC “is also on offer as a stand-alone programme”. Fixed, borrowed or not yet issued: a ledger of MEVP 33 rules
Every IGNOU MSCCC Project rule you will read online falls into one of three groups, and only the first group belongs to MEVP 033. The second comes from the MEVP-011 handbook that SOITS wrote for the M.Sc. Environmental Science (MSCENV) project, the nearest 8-credit project of the same School. The third does not exist yet.

One prefix, five project courses
The MEVP prefix covers several SOITS project courses, and a search for one often returns another. Only three of these credit counts were read for this page.

PGCCC and PGDCCC have no project course at all. The full list of project codes sits on our IGNOU project course codes page.
Many students on IGNOU project courses draft with ChatGPT or another AI tool before they read the guidelines, and the plan then fails to match what the course asks for. With MEVP 033 there is no MEVP 033 guideline to match yet, so test every rule a tool gives you against the ledger above.
A belief we meet often is that the topic must be copied word for word from a printed list. No MEVP 033 topic list exists, so nothing binds you; the topic table further down is our suggestion.
Students are also unsure whether a synopsis goes to the study centre, the Regional Centre or Maidan Garhi, and a packet that reaches the wrong office comes back. MEVP 033 prints no route at all. MEVP-011 sends the proposal to the Programme Study Centre or the Study Centre coordinator, so ask SOITS in writing which office takes MEVP 033 before you post anything.
Which MEVP 033 papers exist, and which files are ours
The IGNOU MSCCC Project rests today on two official papers, one sibling handbook and nothing else from IGNOU. Our two study files sit in a separate column because they are drafting aids, not documents of the University.

Many students do not know what the proforma is; some forget it, and others attach a form from a different course. For MEVP 033 the right form does not exist yet, so treat the MEVP-011 Annexure I in part twelve as a preview of what SOITS asks, never as a form to post.
Students also ask which papers travel with the synopsis and whether to bind or file them. MEVP-011 asks for the proposal, the Annexure I proforma and the supervisor’s signed bio-data; ask the coordinators whether MEVP 033 keeps that set before you print.

Two Rs 500 fees in one year: MEVP 033 and MEVL 032
The IGNOU MSCCC Project year carries two evaluation fees, not one, because Year II holds two 8-credit components. The fee table on p. 27 sets Rs 300 for a project of up to 4 credits and Rs 500 for a project above 4 credits, applies the same two slabs to practical courses, and collects both with the term-end examination form, a scheme that began with the January 2023 cycle.

For the IGNOU MEVP 33 project the slab question has one answer: eight credits is above four, so the amount is Rs 500, and a learner registered for MEVL 032 in the same session pays a second Rs 500 for the lab. For the December 2026 term-end examination, IGNOU has fixed 30 November 2026 as the last date to pay the project, internship and practical course fee on the Samarth portal. RC Noida carried the same notice on 5 October 2026, issued by the Registrar, Student Evaluation Division.
Many learners mix up the Rs 300 and Rs 500 amounts. Both MSCCC Year II fee lines fall in the higher slab, because MEVP 033 and MEVL 032 carry 8 credits each and the cut-off is “above 4 credits”.
Many learners assume IGNOU extends every last date by a month, so they wait for the second date. Nobody can say whether 30 November 2026 will move, and a learner who waits for an extension that never comes puts the December 2026 cycle at risk.
On other courses many synopses reach the office in the final week before a last date. MEVP 033 has no printed synopsis date at all, and under the MEVP-011 model a proposal can go in at any time of the year, so a last-week habit only eats into the time left for corrections.
Who can supervise MEVP 33 while SOITS is silent
SOITS has printed no supervisor rule for the IGNOU MSCCC Project. The nearest printed rule is in the MEVP-011 handbook, written for MSCENV, an 8-credit environment project of the same School, and it lists three routes.

The MEVP-011 handbook asks for the supervisor’s signed bio-data even when the supervisor is an academic counsellor, pays the supervisor Rs 300 from IGNOU, and charges the learner nothing for supervision. Its proforma also asks, in a yes or no box, whether the supervisor is an academic counsellor of MSCENV, which is why an MSCCC form, once issued, should be expected to read differently. Most students do not know the eligibility rules and approach a supervisor who does not meet them. Read the three MEVP-011 routes against your supervisor’s CV before you ask for a signature, and confirm with SOITS whether “counsellor of MSCENV” becomes “counsellor of MSCCC” for MEVP 033.
Students often ask the study centre coordinator for a supervisor and are not allotted one. Under the MEVP-011 model the first route is the programme’s own academic counsellors, so ask your Programme Study Centre for its counsellor list before you look further.
Many also tell us that, with no supervisor allotted, they turned to a relative or a work contact without checking the criteria. Test that person against the PhD-plus-2-years or M.Sc.-plus-5-years rule before anyone signs a proforma.
MSCCC project topics drawn from the ten Year I courses
IGNOU has printed no list of MSCCC project topics. The ten Year I courses and the Year II theory courses are the natural place to start, because an IGNOU MSCCC Project topic that rests on a course you have studied is easier to defend in the synopsis and the viva.

Our suggestions, built from the course titles printed on p. 101. IGNOU has published no MEVP 033 topic list, and your supervisor shapes the final title. Our topic selection guide covers narrowing in more depth.
Evaluators often return synopses asking that the study be based on the student’s own city or location. For a climate topic that usually means one block, one watershed or one ward, plus one data set that covers it.
Synopses built from widely shared material or the same outside source tend to carry the same topic as other students’ work, and duplicate topics are a common reason for return. No MEVP 33 examples circulate yet, so the surest way to keep a title your own is to name the place, the period and the data set.
Some students submit an AI-written synopsis or report as it is, which is another reason identical titles keep appearing. A title that names your own block and your own 30 years is hard to duplicate by accident.
Thirty years or a narrower claim: choosing the study period
A climate topic brings one decision most IGNOU MSCCC Project learners have not faced in other projects: how many years of record the study needs. The answer depends on what the title claims.
The World Meteorological Organization calculates climatological standard normals over 30-year periods, and the current standard period is 1991 to 2020. A series that long supports statements about a climate-length baseline. The India Meteorological Department’s 0.25 degree gridded daily rainfall data set starts in 1901 and was built from 6,955 rain-gauge stations (Pai and others, 2014, in Mausam), so a rainfall series of 30 years or more can be extracted for any block the grid covers.
Shorter windows still work. They change the wording: twelve years of record supports a description of year-to-year variability, and a trend promised from it is weak. MEV 024 Climate Change Assessment Tools and MEV 019 Research Methodology are the courses that teach the measures; IGNOU sets no minimum period for MEVP 033.
A planning aid, not an IGNOU rule. IGNOU sets no study period for MEVP 033; the 30-year test comes from WMO’s climatological normals, the 1901 start from IMD’s gridded rainfall paper, and the wording advice is ours.

It counts the years from start to end, both included, and checks the span against 30, the WMO normal length. A trend claim over 30 years or more gets a named test, Mann-Kendall with Sen’s slope as the example; under 30 it is steered to variability. A variability claim gets the mean, standard deviation and coefficient of variation. A perception claim is paired with the measured series for the same years. An IMD rainfall period that starts before 1901 is refused, because the gridded series begins that year. Survey-only designs get a recall caution. The title stem joins the variable, your place, the years and the claim. None of this is an IGNOU requirement; settle the final period with your supervisor.
Many students base the whole study on secondary data. Nothing published for MEVP 033 forbids that, and much climate work begins with IMD or other published series; the question an evaluator can fairly ask is whether the series alone answers every objective.
Some students write the analysis chapter on assumed data without running a real survey. In a climate project that would mean reporting perceptions no household gave, so every number in your results must come from your own survey sheets or a cited data set with its download date.
In many reports the analysis is too thin to carry the objectives. For a rainfall series, a table of yearly totals with no variability measure and no test is that weakness in its plainest form.
The IGNOU MSCCC Project synopsis in five parts
No MEVP 033 synopsis template exists yet, so the IGNOU MSCCC Project proposal has to borrow its shape. The MEVP-011 handbook asks for a proposal of about 1,500 words in five parts, and our sample synopsis follows exactly that order with a climate topic.

The five parts do not name hypotheses. Add one only if your design tests it, as a trend test does. Objectives deserve the most time: each one should map to one method and, later, to one results table, and our page on writing project objectives shows that mapping step by step. Many students do not know the synopsis structure and leave out core parts such as the methodology or the objectives. A draft that folds “methodology and tools” into the introduction loses one of the five MEVP-011 parts outright.
Synopses also come back when the rationale or the questionnaire is missing. Under the five-part model the rationale belongs in the introduction, and the interview schedule or questionnaire is described under methodology and tools.
In many synopses the literature review does not match the reference list. Every study you cite in part two must appear in the references, and nothing should sit in the references that the text never cites.
Ask for a second reading before the proposal is posted
Many drafts reach us so close to a date that there is no time left to write them properly, and many carry internet material that nobody checked for copying. An IGNOU MSCCC Project draft has a third risk of its own: rules that IGNOU has not issued for MEVP 033 at all. A second reading against the documents on this page is meant to catch that before the envelope is sealed.

The proposal proforma, row by row
No MSCCC proforma has been published. The rows below are MEVP-011’s Annexure I, the approval form SOITS uses for the MSCENV project, set out in the order printed. It is the best preview of what an IGNOU MSCCC Project proforma will ask, and it is not a form to post for MEVP 033.

Many proformas reach us with the supervisor’s details half written and, now and then, the student’s own name, address or e-mail left empty. On this form those are rows 4, 7 and 9, and MEVP-011 lists an incomplete proforma among its rejection causes.
Synopses are returned when the title row is blank. Row 8 must carry the title exactly as it appears on your synopsis cover; MEVP-011 lists a title mismatch among its rejection causes.
Many students forget to keep a receipt when the synopsis goes in. Keep the courier slip or a dated acknowledgement, because it is your only record of when the one-month wait began.
Posting the proposal and the one-month wait
Under the MEVP-011 model the proposal and its Annexure I proforma go to the Programme Study Centre or the Study Centre coordinator at any time of the year, the handbook also requires the supervisor’s signed bio-data, and approval is communicated within one month. For the IGNOU MSCCC Project no office is printed, so the order of steps below starts with a question.
- Write to the MSCCC coordinators and ask which office receives MEVP 033 proposals and whether the MEVP-011 Annexure I is to be used meanwhile.
- Keep a full copy of the synopsis, the proforma and the bio-data before anything leaves your hands.
- Send by a tracked service, or hand it in against a dated acknowledgement.
- Note the date on your copy. If a month passes with no word, write again with your enrolment number, title and sending date.

The MEVP-011 handbook says approval is communicated within one month. On other IGNOU courses, in our experience, approval usually takes two to three months, so leave room in your data plan.
Most approvals we see arrive with correction or modification points, not as a clean pass.
The correction we see most often asks for a more recent review of literature. For a climate topic, check before you post that the review reaches the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report cycle of 2021 to 2023.
When the approval letter arrives
An MEVP-011 approval stays valid for one year and covers two submission slots. Until SOITS prints its own figure, treat that year as the planning window for your IGNOU MSCCC Project: fieldwork, analysis and writing all have to fit inside it.
- Read the evaluator’s comments and the decision on your supervisor; both are marked separately on the form.
- Fold each comment into the plan for Chapter 1 or Chapter 3 before collecting any data.
- Keep the original approved proforma flat and clean. It goes into the bound report, and MEVP-011 rejects photocopies.
- If the title has to change after approval, read our note on changing a topic after approval first.
Approval often arrives with comments the student must work into the report, and many students skip them. Keep the letter beside your Chapter 1 draft and tick off each comment as you answer it.
We have seen cases on other courses where no approval letter reached the student and the session ran out. If a month passes beyond the MEVP-011 one-month mark, write to the coordinators with your enrolment number and sending date.
When a supervisor asks for several rounds of changes, a synopsis can slip by weeks. Agree on one review date with your supervisor before the draft goes over.
IGNOU MSCCC Project report: order, length and marks
The IGNOU MSCCC Project report has no published MEVP 033 format either. MEVP-011 sets a report of about 7,000 to 8,000 words on A4 paper, double spaced, spiral bound and submitted with a CD, in the order below, and it divides the 70 report marks across five heads.

Order and the five marks heads from the MEVP-011 handbook; the link between each part and a marks head is our reading, not a printed rule.
Results carry 30 of the 70 marks, so the chapters that report and interpret your own data deserve the largest share of the 7,000 to 8,000 words. The report format template lays out the front matter and seven chapters with empty table shells, and our page on project word limits and page counts converts words into pages.
After approval, many students do not know what format the report should follow. Until SOITS issues an MEVP 033 booklet, the MEVP-011 order above is the closest printed model, and it is the one our template follows.
Many are also unsure of the page order: where the certificate, the approved proforma and the contents go. The template sets the front matter out in sequence, title page first.
Many reports carry an outdated literature review, and in our experience that costs marks. Under the MEVP-011 scheme the review alone is worth 10 of the 70 report marks.
References, appendices and the originality certificate
The back pages of an IGNOU MSCCC Project report decide whether an evaluator can trace your evidence. A climate study leans on downloaded data, and a data set needs as careful a citation as a journal article: publisher, title, version or resolution, the web page used and the date you downloaded it.
- References in one consistent style, since no MEVP 033 style is printed. Every in-text citation is listed and every listed item is cited.
- Appendices with the blank interview schedule or questionnaire, the consent wording, the data extraction steps and any long tables.
- A certificate of originality, signed and dated by you and by your supervisor. Our template carries a frame that follows MEVP-011 Annexure II; when SOITS issues MEVP 033 wording, use that wording.

In many reports the bibliography follows no single format and does not match the data actually used. For MEVP 033, list every data set you downloaded as carefully as every article, in one consistent style.
Many students leave the questionnaire or appendix out of the report altogether. A survey-based climate study needs its blank interview schedule in an appendix, or the methodology chapter cannot be checked.
Some attach the filled-in questionnaires at the end. Nothing published for MEVP 033 asks for filled sheets, and they carry respondents’ details; a blank copy is the common practice.
Fee date, upload page and the hard-copy slots
Three different calendars touch the IGNOU MSCCC Project, and only one of them was fixed by IGNOU for the current cycle when this page was built.

When SED announces the upload route for a session, that announcement governs where an MEVP 033 report goes for that session. For the IGNOU MEVP 33 project, keep the fee receipt and the upload or courier proof together until the result shows.
Many students are unsure whether a published last date is for the synopsis or the report. The 30 November 2026 date is for the fee; it is neither a synopsis date nor a report date.
Some students email the report instead of using the route the course sets. MEVP-011 asks for a hard copy to SED, and a session’s online submission runs through the page SED announces; e-mail is neither route.
Some skip taking a receipt when the report goes in. Keep the courier slip or the upload acknowledgement until your grade card shows MEVP 033.
Viva and the 70 to 30 marks split
MEVP 033 has no published viva rule. Under the MEVP-011 handbook the viva is held face to face at the Programme Study Centre, in January or July, and the evaluation of an IGNOU MSCCC Project would look like this if SOITS adopts the same scheme.

The MEVP-011 handbook charges Rs 1,200 when a failed project is resubmitted. Our bank of project viva questions is a fair way to rehearse, because most viva questions come from your own objectives and methods.
Many students do not know whether a viva applies to them at all. MEVP-011 has one, worth 30 marks, held face to face at the Programme Study Centre in January or July; MEVP 033’s own rule is still unpublished, so ask the coordinators when you send the report.
IGNOU MSCCC Project questions, answered
How many MEVP 033 credits does the IGNOU MSCCC Project carry?
Eight. The prospectus prints MEVP 033 Project Work as an 8-credit Project course in Year II (p. 101), which at 30 study hours a credit (p. 23) means about 240 hours of work.
Is there an IGNOU MEVP 033 project manual yet?
Not as of 19 October 2026. The prospectus says a project guide booklet comes with the study material (p. 24), but no MEVP 033 manual, proforma or topic list had been published. Until one appears, the MEVP-011 handbook of the same School is the nearest printed model.
Is MEVP 033 compulsory for every MSCCC learner?
Yes, for the M.Sc. Climate Change degree: it is one of the six fixed Year II courses on p. 101. A learner who exits after Year I with 40 credits takes the PG Diploma in Climate Change instead, and that route has no project.
What is the MEVP 033 fee, and when is it paid?
Rs 500, the project slab for courses above 4 credits (p. 27), paid with the term-end examination form. For the December 2026 cycle the last date is 30 November 2026 on Samarth. MEVL 032 Lab attracts a separate Rs 500 practical fee.
Can I start the project before the synopsis is approved?
Reading and planning can start at once. Under the MEVP-011 sequence the report follows approval, and an evaluator can change a title or ask for a different method, so fieldwork done earlier may not fit the approved plan.
Where does the MEVP 033 report go?
IGNOU has not printed an MEVP 033 route. MEVP-011 sends a hard copy to the Registrar, SED, Maidan Garhi, in the July to September or January to March slot, and SED announces an online route for each session when it opens one. Follow the announcement for your session.
Do PGCCC holders have to do MEVP 033?
A PGCCC holder who joins MSCCC Year II through lateral entry takes the Year II courses, MEVP 033 among them. The lateral-entry line is printed under the PGDCCC table on p. 298 and is subject to IGNOU’s credit transfer policy, so confirm with the coordinators which Year I courses you still owe.
How long should the MEVP 033 report be?
No MEVP 033 length is printed. MEVP-011 asks for about 7,000 to 8,000 words, double spaced on A4, and that is the safest working figure until SOITS issues its own.
Is there a viva for MEVP 033?
Not confirmed. MEVP-011 has a 30-mark viva at the Programme Study Centre, held in January or July, and SOITS has not said whether MEVP 033 will follow it.
Can I reuse an MSCENV (MEVP-011) sample for MEVP 033?
Use it to understand structure only. A finished report from another course, or anyone else’s, cannot become yours: IGNOU requires original work, a title approved for you and an originality certificate signed by you and your supervisor.
Before your IGNOU MSCCC Project leaves your desk
Run this list the evening before the IGNOU MSCCC Project report is posted or uploaded. Each line ties back to a rule on this page.
- The title on the cover, the proforma and the certificate is the same, word for word.
- The original approved proforma is in the report, with no photocopies.
- The originality certificate carries your signature and your supervisor’s, and the supervisor’s matches row 13 of the proforma.
- Each objective has a result, an interpretation and a conclusion.
- Every data set is cited with its publisher, version and download date.
- The blank interview schedule or questionnaire is in an appendix.
- The Rs 500 fee is paid and the receipt is kept with the courier or upload proof.
Many reports come back because a required paper is missing. Under the MEVP-011 model that means the original approved proforma, the signed certificate of originality and, where your centre asks for it, the supervisor’s bio-data.
Some students submit without the supervisor’s signature on the originality certificate. Check it against row 13 of your proforma before the envelope is sealed; MEVP-011 lists a signature mismatch among its rejection causes.
