IGNOU BAFFSM Handwritten Assignment: Ten BFO Papers, Two Booklet Sets and a 20 November Online Window

20 November 2026 is the last date reported for submitting December 2026 BAFFSM assignments online, through the Online Assignment Management System that IGNOU announced in a notice dated 28 October 2026. Careers360, Careerindia and Shiksha all carried the notice, which opens the system to eligible learners of ODL and online programmes through their Samarth accounts, and Careers360 adds that learners who have already handed assignments in at a study or regional centre need not upload them again. The paper dates underneath are earlier. The 2026-27 BAFFSM booklet for BFOC-101 printed 30 October 2026 as the last day at the Study Centre, and a general extension to 31 October 2026 had been reported in October. The December 2026 examination is reported to begin on 25 November 2026. A BAFFSM learner who still owes a December paper should confirm on ignou.ac.in that the programme is among those eligible for the online system before relying on it.

30 April 2027 is the date to plan BAFFSM papers for the June 2027 term-end examination, because SOTHSM has printed 30 April for the June examination on every BAFSM and BAFFSM booklet read for this page, from the 2025 files to the 2026-27 ones. It is a pattern, not yet a printed fact. The 2026-27 BAFFSM booklet’s June row reads 30 April 2026, a date already over when the booklet’s session began, so no SOTHSM file in hand prints a June 2027 date. Check the booklet again in early 2027.

The calendar is the same across the programme. SOTHSM sets one pair of dates for every BFO paper, unlike programmes whose courses come from four or five schools. The only exceptions on a BAFFSM record are pool courses, such as a minor or a skill course, whose booklet comes from another school and prints that school’s dates.

Five Answers of 600 Words: What One BFO Assignment Is Worth

Assignments carry 30 per cent of the final course result and the term-end examination carries the remaining 70 per cent.

Every BFO and BFOC assignment for BAFFSM is a 100-mark paper of ten questions, of which the learner attempts any five at 20 marks each, answering each in about 600 words. That rule is printed on the 2026-27 BFOC-101 and BFO-015 booklets and on every older BAFSM booklet read for this page, from BFO-001 to BFO-018. Short-note questions sit inside the same ten: BFOC-101 asks for four notes in one question, on lightning conductors, types of doors, air-conditioning and floor repair, for 20 marks together. Five answers of 600 words add up to roughly 3,000 words a paper.

The examination hall asks for the same thing. The June 2025 term-end paper for BFO-003 told candidates to answer any five questions in about 600 words each, in three hours, for 100 marks. A learner who writes the assignment properly has rehearsed the exam format once already.

The pool courses differ. The 2026 BEGAE-182 booklet issued under BAFSM makes question 1 compulsory and asks for four more from Section B, and BEVAE-181 asks for every question with marks printed against each.

Model Answers on a Screen or a BFO Set in Ink: The BAFFSM Difference

Only the inked set is collected. A downloaded answer file is something to read before writing.

A solved assignment is a soft-copy reference file of model answers for one IGNOU course code and one session, for example BFO-003 for the 2026-27 BAFFSM booklet. A BAFFSM learner might read one to see how an answer on in-house operations against outsourcing can be organised. It carries no enrolment number, no signature and none of the learner’s handwriting, and the July 2026 Common Prospectus, in section 14.7, allows typed assignments only for learners holding a valid disability certificate. A printed solved file is therefore not a BAFFSM submission.

A handwritten assignment is the BAFFSM booklet answered in the learner’s own hand on A4 sheets, one course code per bundle, with the first page completed and handed to the Coordinator of the allotted Study Centre against a receipt. The SOTHSM booklets read for this page set out the first-page fields and the receipt but do not themselves say the answers must be handwritten; that rule comes from IGNOU’s general instructions, which reports of its notices have repeated each cycle, and from the narrow typed-assignment exception in section 14.7 of the July 2026 Common Prospectus.

Twelve Checks a BAFFSM Set Passes Before the Courier Collects It

Ten BFO Codes Belong to BAFFSM; the Other Fourteen Come From the BA Pool

A BAFFSM learner completes 24 courses for the 120-credit degree, and only ten of them are BAFFSM’s own: the six-credit BFO and BFOC major courses that section 5.20 of the July 2026 Common Prospectus lists from BFO-003 to BFO-18. Those ten make 60 credits. The remaining 60 come from the shared Bachelor of Arts (Major) pool printed on pages 164 to 167 of the same prospectus: six four-credit minors, three vocational and three discipline-based, for 24 credits; two ability enhancement courses for 8; one interdisciplinary course for 6; four skill enhancement courses for 16; and one value-added course for 6. Sixty plus 24, 8, 6, 16 and 6 gives 120, and the semester grid’s six totals of 20 credits give 120 as well.

The prospectus prints six of these codes without padding, as BFO-07, BFO-10, BFO 14, BFO 17, BFO 18 and BFOC 102. The booklets use BFO-007, BFO-010, BFO-014, BFO-017, BFO-018 and BFOC-102, and this table follows the booklets.

The prospectus does not say which of BFO-003 and BFOC-101 falls in Semester I; it lists both under the first and second semesters together. Exits are built into the grid: 40 credits plus a four-credit vocational course for a UG Certificate after the first year, 80 plus four for a UG Diploma after the second, and 120 for the degree. A fourth year leading to 160 credits appears in the grid, but its courses are not yet published.

BAFFSM is the programme code in the July 2026 Common Prospectus; BAFSM is the code of the older three-year Bachelor of Arts (Facility and Services Management) that IGNOU launched in August 2022, which the university’s own programme page and the 2026 SOTHSM booklets still print; BFO and BFOC are the course-code prefixes the two share. The 2023 first-year booklet carried both codes on its cover. A learner whose record says BAFFSM answers the 2026-27 files headed BAFFSM; a learner whose record says BAFSM answers the 2026 files headed BAFSM.

Most of the older BAFSM codes never made it into BAFFSM. These are the ones a BAFFSM learner may still meet in a friend’s folder, a solved-assignment list or the university’s programme page.

Where two of these sources pull in different directions for your code, the booklet headed with your own programme code for your own session wins, and a written answer from your Study Centre settles anything the booklet does not.

How a BFO Paper Moves From Your Booklet List to a Signed Bundle

You do two things in this sequence: the first message and the signature at the end.

1. Your record is sorted into BAFFSM, BAFSM and pool codes. A BFO-009 or CIT-001 on a BAFFSM list, or a missing pool choice, comes back to you as a question before any payment.
2. Each code is matched to its file. BAFFSM codes go to the 2026-27 file headed BAFFSM, older codes to the 2026 BAFSM file, and pool courses to the booklet of the school that owns them.
3. Five questions are chosen and planned. Each answer is outlined to about 600 words, short notes are split evenly, and any diagram a question invites is planned before the fair copy starts.
4. The fair copy is written in your matched hand. Blue or black ink on A4, every answer numbered, and the first-page details IGNOU expects filled in except the signature, with the enrolment number set out in IGNOU’s format.
5. The bundle travels by courier and you finish it. You read every answer, sign, and follow the steps for handing an assignment to the Study Centre, keeping the receipt the booklet tells you to obtain.

Facility management answers are not plain essays. A fire-safety answer labels exits and extinguisher classes, a building answer names door types and floor finishes, and a housekeeping answer runs through lists of cleaning agents. Labels, arrows, capital letters and numbered points carry as much of your style as the sentences do.

So the most useful sample shows a little of everything: a few lines of prose, a short numbered list, some capitals and one rough sketch with labels. Daylight, a phone held flat over the page, and the pen you normally write with.

Across three years a BAFFSM learner hands in 24 bundles under one enrolment number. Consistency matters.

Downloading a BAFFSM Booklet: Pick the 2026-27 File, Not the BAFSM One

Search by course code on IGNOU’s assignment download page and open the file whose cover says BAFFSM. Two files per BFO code can appear side by side.

1. Search the code, not the programme name. Enter a code such as BFO-014 on the official assignment download page on ignou.ac.in.
2. Read the cover before the questions. The 2026-27 files say BAFFSM and list ten codes from BFO-003 to BFO-018; the 2026 files say BAFSM and list first-year codes. Pick the one carrying your programme code.
3. Check the Assignment Code line. It should read BFO-003/TMA/2026 or the equivalent for your code. Copy it onto your first page exactly, padding included.
4. Note the five first-page fields. Enrolment Number, Name, Address, Assignment Code and Study Centre Code, as the instruction page lists them.

Two sets of SOTHSM booklets for BAFFSM codes were live on ignou.ac.in on 1 November 2026: 2026-27 files headed BAFFSM, which carry assignment codes such as BFOC-101/TMA/2026 and a dispatch list of the ten prospectus codes, and 2026 files headed BAFSM, which carry the older course list. No booklet dated 2027 had been posted. A BAFFSM learner sitting the June 2027 examination should look again early in 2027, because the 2026-27 file prints no June 2027 date.

If the right file will not appear close to a cut-off, the iGRAM grievance portal takes a complaint with a screenshot. Course blocks are free through the IGNOU book downloads, on eGyanKosh and by the Gyankosh mirror route when the main site is slow.

Receipt, Status Line, Grade Card: Following a BFO Paper After Submission

Keep the Study Centre receipt, look up the status a few weeks later, and expect the marks on the grade card. The SOTHSM booklets also say the evaluated assignment should come back to you; insist on it.

The receipt is the proof. The booklets say so in as many words, and they add that the Study Centre sends the marks to the Student Evaluation Division in New Delhi.

Once a paper is in, the assignment status search by enrolment number shows when the code is received and, later, the marks against it. For a bachelor’s record, the bachelor’s grade card lookup and a note on reading the BDP grade card layout help, and the grade card status by programme fills in until the final grade card after the sixth semester lists all 24 codes. Grades become numbers with the percentage converter and the CGPA calculator for IGNOU grades.

Revision Material and Other Help BAFFSM Learners Request

The 70 per cent paper is still written in the hall, in the same any-five pattern. The December 2026 term-end date sheet fixes each paper’s day, and practice comes from guess papers built for the term-end examination, term-end papers with worked answers and question papers from earlier years. For revision there are condensed study notes, help books arranged by course code and guide books sent in print.

BAFFSM has no project course in the July 2026 grid, though a 12-credit dissertation is pencilled into the unpublished fourth year; learners asked for a report anyway can see help with IGNOU project reports, synopsis and proposal formats and the charges for project and synopsis work.

English medium, backlog files and the BAFSM name

BAFFSM is taught in English only, according to section 5.20 of the July 2026 Common Prospectus, and every BFO and BFOC booklet read for this page was an English file. Hindi enters a BAFFSM record only through the BA pool: BHDAE-182 as the Semester III language course, or a Hindi minor, is written in Hindi because the course itself is a Hindi course.

Backlog BFO and BFOC papers for BAFFSM are answered from the booklet that serves the session on the current fee receipt, and for the December 2026 or June 2027 examination that means the 2026-27 file headed BAFFSM, whatever the year of admission. The SOTHSM booklets read here give no separate backlog instruction, so the Study Centre’s word decides if an older file is offered. Learners returning after a gap usually complete re-registration for the next session, or readmission once enrolment has lapsed, before writing.

No soft copy or PDF is sold. Where a Regional Centre or the online system needs a digital copy, the learner scans the signed paper set that arrives. Delivery depends on your pin code and is confirmed for your order before you pay. No figure is promised on this page.

What this research could not settle. The 28 October notice was not opened directly, and whether BAFFSM is among the programmes eligible for the online system is not confirmed. No 2027 booklet exists yet, so 30 April 2027 is a pattern. The BFO-005, BFO-007, BFO-010, BFOC-102 and BFO-018 files were seen only through their dispatch lists and date pages, not read question by question. No BAFFSM Programme Guide was found. The prospectus does not say which of BFO-003 and BFOC-101 falls in Semester I. Nothing read explains why the BFO-015 file is headed BAFFSM.
